My uncle (grandpa generation, born over 80 years ago) used to tell me that a good pocket knife always has brass liners, b/c they don't rust. Gives you an idea of what kind of knife he grew up with.

@@BassMaster.454 Buck knives were not availiable when/where my uncle grew up. He was in his mid-twenties when the Buck Folding Hunter model made its debut and he was east of the Iron Curtain. So it's Old World craftsmanship he was talking about.

My favorite was the guy that told me CTS 204P was junk, that I should have M390! 😂. He about choked when I told him they are basically the same steel. Thanks for the fun video!

Great video! I have a newer channel, and I've gotten every one of those comments! Daniel Boone is my 7th great uncle( random fact), and he used his knife for anything he wanted. He only had to look at the wood, and it would split itself, put itself in a pile, and beg to be allowed to burn for his pleasure. Your brother did an excellent job! I thought you had become a master video editor. Definitely enjoyed the laugh

Yes, I love this and you did it so well. What I'm finding as I get older is that there are fewer and fewer things that I enjoy doing and find pleasure in. Knife collecting has been something that I've enjoyed doing for the past 30 years. It's so interesting and diverse. Thanks for making it fun, interesting, educational and enjoyable.

I'm a bit of a steel snob myself. But I also know that edge retention is actually a stupid metric because of how many variables there are, and that most steels are actually good steels. 1095 is a fucking beast of a steel Edit: I know no one asked but I say it's a beast because I have batoned through a nail with it before
