I use a Kobalt utility knife from lowes I believe. It's a button lock and it's a gravity type of knife not a flipper, it has storage in the handle for 3X blades and the main blade releases with a little push button. It's cheap and ergonomic.

I can't think of any utility blade holder that I would trade for the fastback in my use. Having an expendable edge that I don't care about plus a Phillips and flat always ready are great.

It makes sense that you would like 14C28N for a steel, it's pretty much the PERFECT steel for a pocketknife, especially an EDC knife. Tough as hell, holds a decent edge, and bringing that edge back to microscopic levels of sharpness is exceedingly easy. For m money, if a pocketknife doesn't have 14C28N, AEB-L, or Magnacut, it really needs something outstanding about it to be considered. I like the Raccoon crossbar lock, but their new button lock with the spine liner lock (think of Spyderco Smock's Compression lock) is incredible.

THANK YOU!!!!! From the people who couldnt make a safe button lock, what did we expect? Ive said it MANY times, Vosteed has HUGE BA_LS asking 250-300 dollars for ANYTHING. If we told the truth, Vosteed is not a premium company and their designs have been mostly subpar to straight up failures.

According to emerson he designs the knives to almost act as chisels. So the grind is for impact and scraping primarily.

I've had some great luck with Boker over the years. Definitely had some bad ones. Their big negative seems like their expansive lineup leads to lower QC mass produced knives. When they're good, they're great. When they're bad, its pretty much a total failure. I still support them because they end up producing a ton of great designs at a reasonable price. Great knives for work

Thanks for comparison and clear-cut review 👍 you cannot overvalue such a knife if you have been failed without such a thing when your life depends on it. Therefore, I have failed two times in my life: first, without any knife in woods I could not make a shelter for sleeping, second, with a cheap and unreliable knife I could not make a fire and have been freezing. So, naturally, after my failures, I understand how it is important to have such Mayhem whatever challenge you are facing eye to eye.

I think the atlas lock is a good all round lock, like the axis. And I'd say it's still less likely to leave you bleeding than any liner, frame, or button lock, and doesn't have weak omega springs.

They are not even the same type of knives besides the locking system, so to compare and butter up to the sponsors does not seem too honest.

No sponsors here my friend, Kershaw sent me the heist last year and Boker sent this one to me. I don’t give a rip about Kershaw or Boker, I am sharing my experience and feelings on both. Especially pointing out the bokers bad grind and yucky deployment. If I was buttering up to them I would not have pointed that out. I know both companies will see this comment and I could careless. You the viewers are who I care about and wish to inform.

Why do you "need" a locking blade? One handed deployment just makes it look like you want to carry a weapon, not a tool. We have laws against that (for good reason) here in the UK.

I watched as the price for the zilch climbed & climbed (20’s) until one day BHQ dropped the price to $16 on a weekend with free shipping. I ordered one and expect delivery today. I’m curious to see what I get for less than the cost of lunch.

If Gene used his Buck 110 to kill a grizzly, I would trust the Buck 120 to kill a dogman. Bucks heat treat is so good, that you don't really need to upgrade the steel. These super steels are for people who, either don't know how to sharpen a knife, beat their on their knives like a Tonka toy, or are too lazy to do it.

Yeah nope, this will maybe replace the fastback for an office worker or someone that carries it outside of a trade. I don’t see anyone in the trades swapping their fastback out with this because of the screw. Fast sick is tried and true and works every time.

Crying about pocket clips is a weird complaint. If you need a serious multi-tool, use one. If you need a pocket clip because you're out and about working, then okay. I don't think I've ever struggled to get a pocket knife out of my pocket without one though. On the contrary, sometimes it takes longer to remove a clipped-on knife than to just pull it out of my pocket. Clips are most useful when you're going to be working and moving around a lot and don't want the thing to accidentally fall out of your pocket. There are times when I don't care to have the knife showing, or maybe need to wear a suit and it's nice to have a slim, smooth SAK or other knife in my pocket instead of a jagged multi-tool or something showing clipped to my pocket or belt. I wonder how much this guy gets paid, or how often he gets free stuff, in order to advertise off-brand junk.
