Think the sound department missed the memo about the warthog not running on gas, or even have a gearbox, because both in halo 4 and when using the remastered Halo 2 graphics you can clearly hear gears changing and the familiar rumbling of a petrol engine. Can't say I remember what the case is in halo ce anniversary, because I never use the remastered graphics as everything looks worse

Also 4 adding Jerry fuel cans that are an obnoxious bright red... Because, you know, that's exactly what you want on your olive green military vehicle: to stock out like a sore thumb. Lol

My all-time favorite design is probably the H4/H2A variant. i like the Jerry cans and rollbars. I don't like the square shield or circular lights, however, or the way it sounds. It sounds too.. Dieselish to me for a vehicle that runs on water

The bright red Jerry cans suck though. Why are they bright red on an olive green vehicle? That's just begging to be pointed out from a distance. It's why all Jerry cans on things like Humvees are painted the same color as their camo or paint: to stay blended in. They look like an eyesore to me. If they were painted the right color I could excuse it. Definitely don't like the blockier chassis either. The smoother, sleek chassis of the 1-Reach hogs were better. I did like the bumb-rails they had in 4 though. The SPV3 hog actually incorporated those into the classic design and I think it looks goated. Also, yes, the square shield and new chain gun sucks. Bring back the classic one!

Every "PUMA" has a different difficulty: Razorback = Easy Gauss hog = Normal Warthog = Heroic Troop transport = Legendary (Examples for fully loaded and OP weapons)

Honestly as awesome as the other Hog's sound, the halo 4 Hog sounds the most badass and menacing imo

What I will say, is that of all of these versions, the sound of the gun in the first Halo is still the best audio for it and the overall "feel" of it is also the best. It felt like a high caliber gun. The later versions felt much weaker, even if the actual damage was similar.

I love the troop hog, it solves the problem of a 3 person scout car And allows me to turn it into a rocket barrage firing machine of death, same with the razor back but I like the look of the troop hog more

The halo infinite rocket hog is actually full-auto it just fires slow enough to trick you into thinking it’s semi-auto. Exactly like the needle rifle from halo reach.

Me who nitpicked halo reach, 4 and 5 for having a pointless overheat mechanic because the three barrels on the chain gun are meant to reduce overheating

And also it's just an unfun mechanic that needs a vehicle that never needed nerfing. I'm convinced it was only ever added in Reach for the basic idea that "every other game has is, and we want the game to feel grittier", which is a dumbass reason if that's the case. Made gunning in the warthog feel like shit.

The overheating part never made sense the whole reason to have multiple barrels is so that you can shoot really fast with no overheating done to the barrel since you have so many.

1. Where tf was the h2 gauss hog, that could’ve been useful in metropolis 2. “Water not petrol” ok finally somebody gives a lore explanation for it that fits with the hog running on fusion and water being either a coolant or used for steam

Yes it can, but only heavy weapons like the gravity hammer, it can also carry flags and stockpiles

It peaked in 3, and then they've ruined it every time since 4. The octogonal shield at least needs to make a return. Absolutely no reason to stay with the square shield other than 343's dumb "we want to make our own mark" objective.
