elitecrafter perez Yeah, I understand what you mean. However there were so many comics of Spider-Man that I feel like each individual comic gave Peter a new "version", of sorts. In general, Tom was able to best incorporate all of those traits as well as adding increased value to the story of Spider-Man and how he interacts with the other MIC characters. It's not as much based off the comics themselves as it is based off of interactions that we didn't really see from Andrew, and interesting/ meaningful interactions are one of the basic elements to create a loveable character, in film or otherwise.

Basically, Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker, but Andrew was the best Spider-Man.

It's been said a lot that Maguire played the best Peter Parker, but Garfield delivered a better performance as Spiderman. Keep in mind that Peter is the polar opposite of Spiderman, so it makes sense if one actor can play one side of the character than the other. EDIT: For clarity, I mean that Maguire had the gentle and awkward soul of Peter Parker, while Garfield had the quick witted, sharp tongued demeanor of the friendly neighborhood Spiderman

Andrew was the best Spider-Man, he had the quick one-liners, and a cocky attitude. Neither could get a strong grasp on the other half of the character. This is where Tom splits the difference, he is not quite as funny as Andrew nor is he as nerdy as Tobey.

I mostly agree with you. Garfield is just another kid in school, not special, he just blends in with the other kids. If you don't see him in spiderman suit, you wouldn't have realize that it's actually a spiderman movie. As a movie, TASM is just confusing, I don't remember which one but for an example. I thought the electric guy was going to join spiderman and fight but turns out he wanted to kill spiderman. He went from being a fan to want to murder the guy, basically, just made up some lame excuse to put another enemy in there for spiderman. I felt at times like I was watching multiple movies in the same session.

The tech was more of a different way to explain the actions Spiderman from the comics, his eye expressions and him talking to himself, by making the suit mechanical it could express what he's feeling via his mask's eyes like the comics then by making him have someone to talk who he can only hear it would seem like he's talking to himself for other people like in the comics, in a way if you take away the fact that the suit is mechanical it's just like comic Spiderman. Of course there were some scenes where he relied solely on the machine (tracking and profiling) but that's a minor thing but a simple plot device to move the story forward, he already has a mechanical suit that Stark gave him that has many potentials why not use it? Have you seen the civil war? it's shown there that the whole point of the suit was to dampen his spider sense as it was too good, like reacting to the tiniest of actions, I'm talking about both versions of the suits by the way, his cheap suit was made to make him focus at certain things and the iron man made one was modified to help him control the spider sense.

However, in Tom's movie, there was no bad bruises, punches, or blood. The building collapses on him, and his clothes arent torn or is his face marked up. Same goes when he gets clawed by the Vulture. In the comics spider man isn't even in high school that long. Like 95 percent of spidey's villains are met after highschool. Toby failed the grown up test, as was seen in the third movie. He just wasn't edgy enough to play the role of the black suit symbiotic venom spidey. However I do think Garfield would have been the perfect adult Spider-Man. Literally there's a book dedicated to the history of his romances. Plus Garfield actually resembles Peter Parker in stator. Had he been handled properly he probably would have topped this list.

somesarcasticspidey He doesent rely on Tony on anything BUT the suit which he didn’t use to defeat Vulture. He even turned down to become an Avenger and he wanted to do his own thing. He hasn’t even talked to Tony after that until Infinity War which is a couple months after. Tom is more accurate than Tobey. Tobeys acting was trash. He may be good at the time but Tom is the new OG now. Tom is a Spider-Man that’s still developing. He is the best portrayal of the character also making it his own.

Did you not watch Homecoming. He learned how he doesn’t need he suit to be a hero. It was Tony’s choice to give him back the suit because he learned his lesson. He also got consequences in Far from Home
