Wow! I didn't realize how valuable an Omni can become, and hard to get your hands on in some cases. Just the fact that you can tell us about reprints coming for certain Omni's is a big money saver for people who don't know, and might pay a lot for them unnecessarily otherwise. Makes that Gem Mint You Tube membership worth every cent, when you think about the money Gem Mint might save you. Especially if your a newer comic and Omni buyer like me. This is a great video! When I was a kid - Uncanny X-Men #94 onwards were "the" comics of the day - everyone was "X-crazy". I think that #94-141 are really the heart of X-Men (but, of course, I'm biased because those were the issues of my youth). Thanks for the video!

Got to try to get some of them. I got the first X-men omnibus and Astonishing X-men Omnibus a couple of years ago for about only $12-15 each, thanks to a error in the price-algorithm at a webshop. Now that is a good bargain!

I do love The Age of Apocalypse and desire the central Omnibus with just the right amount of Legion Quest to setup the story and not overly scattered or distracted (like the legion quest omnibus or the smaller age of apocalypse prelude and also because the splash page in Legion Quest - the X-Men Unlimited is just so visually painful and the character looks like they’re in agony from over-pencilling) and this has sealed the deal for me to eventually acquire The Age of Apocalypse Companion for extras, no pressure!

I remember when Walt Simonson's Thor omnibus was going for crazy prices--until they reprinted it and all of a sudden the prices came back to earth. Unless you're rolling in cash, never pay those gouged up prices for any collected edition from the big two. They will reprint it.

I would absolutely kill for an omnibus with a 30 $ additional price tag that included a digital code as well. I 100% want my physical edition the feel of the book is something you cant replace but the ease of reading my digital books cannot be ignored. I would love to spend a little more to get a digital copy with the book so I can travel with it.

Amazing review! Back then I found it exciting how eventually the artists started experimenting with the artwork more and more, but looking back at them now I'd say my interest as an adult stops around the age when it started to distant from the original visuals and clean, classic look too much, probably around early to mid 90's. So as someone who has the Uncanny X-Men omnibus and wouldn't enjoy owning re-prints, do I really need the Classic X-Men omnibus or not?

Would like to get Omnibus in the near future. I have searched for some things releasing in 2020 via Instocktrade but they don't seem to have them available for order yet, DCBService does have them for order though. I have read that DCBS doesn't except Paypal, Instocktrade does, and was wondering how safe and reliable is DCBS? Also, does Instocktrade eventually add things closer to release or is it a safer bet to just order via DCBS?

Do you think they will ever reissue the 1st volume of the original X-Men? They have reissued the first volumes of the FF, Spider-Man, and Cap but not the X-men? It is far too expensive to buy on the aftermarket.

damn x men has a ton of omnis but it seems like the current series never sell and constantly get rebooted and renumbered. the xmen used to be the hottest book for like 25 years. i wonder what happened? did they have a letter page in Vol 1? i really want to neil adams x men run not sure to get it in the epic collection or in the new hard cover gallery edition coming out. did you like the original team's second costumes? i always thought wild child would be bigger coming out of age of apocalypse .

Do all those omnis collect the letter columns? That's one big deterrent for me going to hard on omnis collecting series. The LCs are part of the and exclusive to the comics as well On the Classic X-Mens. The first 50 issues or so were no ads. So they had 36 pages, c2c, to reprint the original issue. The first 27 issues had new story and art added. At the time the original books came out the comic stories were 17 pages each. This allowed room for the New material in the reprint for 2-27. Then the new story letter column pin ups etc rounded out the rest of each issue. After 27 the main stories became 22-23 pages each since that's what the original issues were. After 45 or something ads started being included which is why they dropped the backup stories. They did drop the ball a bit on this omni. Rather than reprinting the whole story they only show what was new to each "reprinted" story. So it doesn't read the way it should. Look through you'll see what I mean. Still great to have all the backups collected finally though. They were never fully reprinted prior.
