I will forever and always recommend the Ontario rat 2 for a first knife.

My favorite edc knife I own is the Bestech Goodboy! I love the size and how it fills out my hand, the size of the blade is very useful and I love the crowned spine! A close second would have to be my titanium mini bugout, only reason I prefer the goodboy is because of its size and price!

One thing you should have mentioned is the idea of carrying a small fixed blade style knife as an option…
