This is such a powerful song - punches me in the stomach every time. What you said about there being enough money to go around - there's enough *resources*. The issue is that capitalism by its nature encourages people to hoard and put a price on those resources. Those people then have the power to control the media and the politicians, to ensure they can keep hold of them. Discrimination, racism and the huge environmental issues we face can never be solved under capitalism as the people with the bulk of the money and power (mostly older white men) have no incentive to redistribute it or solve the issues that will address the massive inequalities in the world. Having said that, there are certainly big steps we can take within the capitalist system to make things fairer. Unions, vote for working class, pro-environment candidates, stop consuming media that's owned by billionaires. They want us to feel powerless and like there's nothing we can do but I'd certainly rather live in Scandinavia (free education, healthcare, unemployment benefits etc) than the US. I'm in the UK where, as Dave said, the culture is moving towards the American model and away from the European model. Sorry...hard not to be passionate about this - it makes my blood boil.

I think this is a difficult song for non-Brits to catch bars from because a lot of it is very specific to British politics - funding for the NHS, lies told during Brexit, Theresa May's handling of the Grenfell disaster, David Cameron's referendum and resignation, Jeremy Corbyn's leadership of Labour - these are things you need some familiarity with British politics to understand. Broadly speaking its basically a critique of where the Tories are taking the country. A lot of reactors seem to focus on how there are problems that have some similarities between the US and UK but don't realize that the UK's 'starting point' is different than America's, it's one where 'left-wing'/European values are more widespread and dearly held - hence the line about this being Great Britain, not Donald Trump's America. Overall still a good reaction by Freddy Suave though, I enjoyed it

While I appreciate the sentiment of wanting a better society, what I can say is that you're patently wrong in what you've said. The idea that a group of old white men hoard all the money and say fuck the little black kids is really regressive and just isnt true and heres why. 1. the money that is in tho bank abouts of those 'rich white men' doesnt just stay there, it gets redistributed to small businesses and people who need loans, the money that they put in banks is used to help new startups, help people afford that car to take their kids to school, help people afford that mortgage to get on the property ladder. it isnt just stored away so noone can touch it and leaving the rest of the people to get screwed. 2. the majority of Net worth is held in assets, not liquid money in a bank account. what that means is most of the money someone "has" they dont actually have. it's in their shares in the business they own, it's in their house, it's in items that they cant liquidate quickly; and those shares in businesses give people jobs. those businesses that the "bad rich white men" own are what allows working class people to be working class and not impoverished. Just saying that people hoard all the money isnt true, theres a lot more that goes into it, and if you start demonising those rich people and trying to raise taxes on businesses guess what will happen? Those jobs that people ao desperately need will be moved to a different country where taxes are lower, because as bad as it may sound, profit is the bottom line of everything and if we as a country cant be enticing to prospective investors, then our economy is screwed. Theres a saying that basically goes (and I'm paraphrasing sorry😂) "Capitalism is the worst system, except for all the other ones" What it means is that as bad as capitalism looks on paper, it's what created the USA and not the USSR. Communism, Marxism or any other socialist philosophy DOES NOT WORK in the long run. If people all earn the same amount of money, theres no incentive to work harder, theres no incentive to create, or evolve, or be unique and fill a gap in the market. We as a society will stall unless capitalism continues to provide a reason to progress and unfortunately, the biggest driver is a selfish one and its money. The best way to help the poorer part of society is actually the same thing that causes the gap in earnings to be bigger, because as the rich get richer and are able to expand their business and employ more people, the poor also get richer because they have new jobs, they have a choice in jobs and can therefore bargain for wages and earn more money. sorry I went on for so long😂 and I hope you read this and we can have a conversation because I'd be really interested in what your opinion on all that is. Anyway, have a good one!

I think your reactions are great and you seem like a really genuine guy, you’ll always get some people bitching in the comments, don’t let them get to you just keep doing your thing! Please if you get a chance do some more J Hus. You mentioned you like Afrobeats so you’ll love songs like Play Play (feat Burner Boy) or Must Be.

The UK is quite different from the US in terms oh what they spend funding on. For instance the police in the UK is arguably underfunded right now due to government cuts, then also the UK spends little on the military compared to the US (although it’s still a lot) The difference is for the last 10 years the UK has had a conservative (Tory) government that has implemented austerity (widespread spending cuts) that they claim is necessary after the 2008 recession but in fact it is just a facade for their ideological plan. They don’t believe in helping those in need, so millions are struggling over here. Social programs, benefits, policing, healthcare etc are all massively underfunded right now and it’s been close to breaking point in certain areas. So yes, UK and US are very different but the overriding need to push back against economic inequality is relaxant for both.

People who complain about reactors not catching bars confuse me. Pointing out bars is one thing but complaining is silly. I've never listened to a song and caught every bar the first time round and neither have they if they're honest. I definitely don't catch them on first listen in American songs because there are references unique to the US I wouldn't get. Most of us come here to watch your reaction not a breakdown of every bar in the song. Keep doing you bro, I just enjoy seeing people react to the music.
