Many auto manufacturers have been drinking the the EV koolaid of the politicians on the left and lost billions of dollars on the EV sector, so they try to make up the lost by increasing the prices of ICE vehicles that people want. The result is both EV and ICE vehicle sales fall like landslides.

Actually, now seeing the downside effects of the planned (Marxist) economy & the Cantillon effect. Additionally, The corporate executives steal the wealth of the workers and equity investors through their “bonuses” & stock options, when the Fed & tax code create the artificial demand as seen the last couple of years/decades! Those executives did not innovate or invent something to benefit humanity… they just played the corrupt corporate game and paid off gvt. Officials with inside info ( can you say Nancy Pelosi- and pretty much all of the other corrupt politicians!) If you’ve got assets, get ready for some good buys in the next couple of years! 👍🏼

Sorry but $4500 for a vehicle with 200k miles is not a deal. It's a rip off. I'm tired of seeing that. 3 years ago people were giving away those cars on Craigslist not trying to make 5k off them. It's absurd
@maxfieldstarling7496
@maxfieldstarling7496 9 күн бұрын
Yeah but that’s what you’re gonna be seeing a lot more of because of supply and demand. The supply of used cars in good condition is going down because they can’t afford to buy new ones so the demand for used goes up which in turn makes prices soar even for the ones nobody wants because that’s all there is. A 200k car for 4500 that runs and drives at least halfway decent could last for 4-5 years if not more with around 1-2k of parts and that is deal.

Imagine how much cheaper vehicles would be if we got rid of the useless tech, like giant infotainment screens, 6 zone climate control, electric windows, etc. I bet if someone made a bare bones vehicle, it would sell like mad.
@somaa5778
@somaa5778 16 сағат бұрын
The electronics are actually not that expensive, they started using touch screens instead of nobs and buttons since it's cheaper (molding for all different buttons and nobs), I put most of the blame on safety regulations, which now require a lot of sensors for detection of nearby vehicles, I read a few laws that Congress passed and it's infuriating that consumer choice is being taken away. A bare bones vehicle would not be possible with these regulations. Toyota made a new pickup marketed for countries in Asia and is a bare bones vehicle for around 10k usd (that's what I heard sounds a bit far fetched)
@Rio_Seco
@Rio_Seco 14 сағат бұрын
This is exactly right. The electronics and complicated ACs are also the items that seem to break and cost a fortune to fix. I want the old sliders and knobs. Simple is always better, and typically cheaper. The other guy who mentioned all the federal regulations is also correct.

Real question, what do you expect the government to do? What can the government do to limit corporate greed? Do you want them to nationalize car manufacturers or dealerships? And/or let the central bank set the prices of cars? Or do you want Congress to pass a law changing the fiduciary duty of companies to benefit their employees and customers more than their investors? How exactly is the government responsible for the behavior of privately owned companies and what action do you want the government to take?

Somewhere after 5:00 , you know with all three brand new vehicles I've purchased recently and no longer own. It's too bad that going to the dealership was a worse experience than buying a private sale vehicle. If one is going to go through so much effort to get a brand new car you would think the car they're selling you would come with no issues like... The first one a Pontiac had a bad electrical harness. Got to love a vehicle that stutters when you tilt the whole vehicle just slightly like when you're going down a rolling hill and all of a sudden the vehicle starts vibrating because the ABS is like oh you're pressing the brake while you are literally coasting. Or the other one I believe it was a Saturn, selling a vehicle with a broken or fractured frame is dumb. If you knew it fell off the flat truck bed maybe someone should have gotten under the vehicle and noticed that the frame was literally torn in half on one side before selling the damn vehicle to me. Them saying that noise is just the road and not the vehicle while you have full trust there a vehicle dealership. That their third vehicle so dumb beautiful Nissan Xterra. Even with in the paperwork saying they have a second engine selling the vehicle while knowing there's a air gap in the oil is dumb you just need to drop the damn tan and then refill it after replacing the pan. Not angry just sharing please be careful when buying new vehicles anyways. I'm noticing a lot more being sold without particular required parts like if you have lock nugs and they don't sell you the damn device or give you the device to remove your own lug nuts. @@Darktophat_10 This exactly. Rich people are the only ones that can afford trucks anymore. In 2013 my gramps bought a brand new 5.7L V8 RAM for $29,000 from the dealer. My dad (in 2024) just bought a 2020 RAM Big Horn 5.7 with 41,000 miles for $28,000 (which is a decent deal in 2024). The price of trucks has reach absolute madness. The EPA regulations on trucks has caused automakers to only make massive trucks with huge wheel bases and tons of options over something like the old Ranger or S10, which were smaller trucks with full-size beds and were VERY affordable at the time in the early/late 90's/2000's. It's a shame that you basically take on a second mortgage if you want a new truck anymore. I just want a factory new truck for less than $20,000 with a small motor and a bed. Something ACTUALLY affordable for people that need a truck with a bed for work. No need for a V8, fancy infotainment garbage, cloth seats, etc. Just a truck, the bed, A/C and heat, three pedals, shifter, steering wheel and hell, just give us a driver's seat and leave the rest out of it if it saves money.

In December it took a crap on me and would not come out of 2nd gear. I was in need to get a different car so I went to my work, I work at a used car dealership my boss said he would sell me his Nissan for 6000. It worked out until I had to finance half of it. We did an in house finance through our company and after all the paperwork the car ended up being 12000… like seriously… it’s messed up.. what they ended up doing was paying my boss in full for the car then turned around and doubled the price of the car. It’s unbelievable but I had to get a different car. I’m stuck paying $500 a month just for a car that isn’t even that great… unfortunately my charger needed everything that held the suspension together replaced and the cost would be about 6000+ so I wasn’t wanting to spend all the time rebuilding it.

118,000 dollars is only 8,000 dollars less than what we paid for our first house 28 years ago and we built a brand new 2000 sq. ft. brick home! No way most Americans can afford a vehicle this expensive.

To build a similar home today, as a custom house (even with basic trimmings) on land you already own, would cost well over $400k. I know because a friend of mine tried to build on their parents' property, and for a ~1500sq ft house with brick exterior, there was no builder willing to take less than $450,000.

@@jasperjazz4467 My house is 1,950 sq. ft. and I bought it in 2022 for $352K. Nice to see that principal getting chopped down and the slight rise in value. Owning a home is a business.

@@frx1p32dz2 thanks, sorry I missed that. So as of today, that's $85,950 US dollars. A top of the line, 1991 brand new Ford truck cost $22,795.45, that's a three fold increase in cost. The house I referred to in the original post has increased in value at the same rate, approximately 3 times the original purchase price. Problem is that the house has continued to increase in value while the trucks will only depreciate over time.

i went shopping for a car about a year ago. i drive a 1999 suburban. went to look at the toyota dealer and when they told me an civic was $43k i literally started laughing. i asked the salesman if he was serious, and he said yes, that's what nice cars cost. i told him i'll just buy another engine for my suburban if it comes down to it and left. they cant charge absurd prices if noone's buying.

Where I live cars and trucks last 10 years max because we live so close to the ocean that the salt corrosion rots your vehicle while it sits parked in the driveway. Not to mention the amount of road salt 6 months of the year.

Okay, I'm looking to buy a car but everything is freaking expensive, even used cars! I can't believe it! I would buy that 0.99% Model Y offer right now if it weren't for EMF emissions being so high.
