Not really, you just gotta know the round you’re shooting and why you would have a magnifier in the first place. If you think it’s just for shooting further then you should do more research

If you need a magnifier for a 9mil ar or PCC then you suck at shooting. People that disagree are civilians who don’t train or didn’t do their research on the ballistic capabilities of all calibers. Same bone heads that think they should train 150 yards for 9 mil when there’s a 556, 223, etc cartridges.

@frymann2342 I both agree and disagree. It's not such a bad idea to practice shooting calibers beyond their suggested "limitations" so you atleast learn how your rounds behave at certain ranges. Not that you SHOULD try to engage an active target at 250+ yards with a 9mm but given that you ever have to by circumstance, that practice might save your ass. 👌 My 556 is indeed more suited for the size property we have, but I take into account that there could be a time where said 556 may not be available (broken/stolen etc) and may have to choose something less suited. Ofc I could just grab a different one but not everyone has those options lol

YES! I built a sweet AR9 for my 75 year old mom. With a RMR on top. She loves shooting it. I dont think the glock mags have ever had a failure.

I really suck at shooting pistols. But when I started shooting 9mm AR pistols it turned out to be a game changer. The extra points of contact (cheek & sling) as well a the increased weight of the platform made all the difference.

Just call it an SBR the barrel length is what makes it a rifle or not and anything remotely over 6" is a rifle IMO but of course the ATF says different

I used to be horrible with a pistol too. What fixed it was a good bit of dry fire practice and what was an absolute game changer was putting a micro red dot on the pistol. I went from not really enjoying pistol shooting to now being my favorite platform to shoot at the range.

All my 9mm carbines have more recoil than any of my AR15s. They are blowback operated which creates more felt recoil.

Eh my UDP-9 recoils about the same as my 5.56 AR and 300blk AR. The 5.56 AR is way louder though. 9mm is much more pleasurable to shoot inside. For close range engagements, I much prefer my suppressed UDP-9. Cheaper to shoot at the range too.

Yeh my scorpion recoils like crazy. Not bad with subs and a can though. Still easier to control my 1” bull barrel 5.56.

That's what I run. His set up is ridiculous. That 4" barrel is only reaching effective at 100 yards. And that's not what it's for

Wrong 9mm out of a 8 inch barrel has a 200 yd effective range so a 3 or 4 × magnification is about right

IMO 7.5 barrel with a 7 inch handguard is the best PCC AR length you can have for 9mm, it has room to fit a flashlight, pressure switch, PEQ, front an rear back up sights, an angled foregrip. Also the ballistics on a 9mm through a 7 inch barrel is a lot better compared to 3.5-5 inch barrels. An you still get really good CQB movement an concealment

Personal preference the forward sight is enough especially a coinciding with the iron sights platform 9 not going to kick too much fast reload good choice

I'd recommend anything built for 9mm over an ar9. Mp5/clone, scorpion, stribog, ghm9,and apc9 are all more reliable. They were built around the 9mm cartridge and feel softer shooting.

@@gunflavor I actually just picked one up from psa a couple weeks ago. The thing is awesome. Not the softest shooting 9mm but makes up for it with how fast it shoots. Just make sure you get one with the ALG trigger though. It's well worth the extra 50 bucks and is one of the fastest pcc triggers I've shot.

If you’re gonna talk about recoil you should just get a 556 then. A 556 rifle with h2 buffer is gonna recoil less than a 9mm ar with presumably 8oz+ buffer and maybe 308 buffer spring. 9mm pccs are not great self defense tools. They are novelty. I have one myself and never would I use it over an actual rifle.

I don't get why PCC are so popular. While plinking ammo is cheaper, 9mm HP will still be significantly inferior to just a 5.56 55gr FMJ

@@Nathan-jh1hoyeah. I don't own a 9mm. Don't need one. If I want to plink? I have a j frame S&W with 22 mag. It's also the one I conceal carry anyway. I also for fun have a Ruger MKIV Target which is my other plinking gun shooting 22lr. I also have a competition built AR with unrivaled armories buffer, break, and BCG. I also have an adjustable gas block on it but I forgot the brand. I don't see why one should choose a 9MM PCC.

@@Nathan-jh1ho A 9mm PCC is great for home defense if you live in a neighborhood like me. Houses 25 yards apart all the way around. Shooting a 5.56 in my home in a home defense situation could become a disaster really quick.

@@RejectedManiac why? You know 9mm goes throw about as many layers of drywall as 5.56 right? I've seen many people test this. While 5.56 has much higher energy than 9mm, which equation is 1/2mv^2, the momentum isn't that different, which equation is just mv. Momentum matters more when talking about penertating "stuff"

Struggling so hard on wether to get a 9mm AR Pistol or a 300 blackout pistol.. the both suppress well.. but blackout is stronger.. but 9mm is cheaper… idk what to do!

300 blackout, hands down. Far more reliable and versatile. Only downside is ammo cost but is outweighed by more important factors
