As a sneaker head watching, these videos hurt but at the same time it’s really nice to understand what we are wearing more and if someone was gonna destroy a shoe I’m glad it’s at least well documented and presented as educational. They should not hurt you; sneakers use a lot of fake / cheap materials just to maximize profit off of folks like you then create another 'special' colorway to generate new hype to sell the same plastic trash to you all again and again and again what would be the dream is to start your own sneaker brand, destroy Phil Knight's legacy and start a new movement where the sneaker heads are the ones in charge and in control of the building materials used *as this $2k shoe has the same materials used as the Nike Outlet stores Dunks scratch n dent for $39.99*

I did buy my first pair of Jordans this year and I did not really like them. I then saw him cut them in half and now I see why I do not like Jordan 1s. They are a 100$ shoe and not a dime more. Whoever pays more than that for such a let down of a shoe is nuts! Even Jordan said they were not comfortable.

No one is buying these because the materials are good. They're buying them because they look cool as hell. Personally I've been buying reps for two years. They've come a long way. The quality control is arguably better at some rep factories. I don't mind paying $100-$140 a pair at all because I know the materials aren't worth retail even.

I love the macro shots! We can see the fabric and leather so clearly and it really helps with understanding what kind of material they are and what they look like close-up. I've been looking into buying a new pair of sneakers with a friend and going into stores trying to see if a shoe is using leather or fabric has been helpful and frankly a little bit fun, thanks to your videos! Also surprised you haven't done a video on a Puma sneaker (other than the platform shoe), would be interesting to see maybe a Puma Suede cut open since I've heard good things about it being durable!

Nike is the bad guy here, and thats coming from a lifelong sneaker head who loves their shoes. Its Nikes fault for not being clear with any type of authentication process. NIke is essentially complaining about stockx providing a service that needs to exist, but not doing it the way they want without providing an alternative.

@@brownbeerd8198 he didn't show much of structure, insole, padding, heel notches, and usually materials are better but it depend from each colourway using syntetics is normal, it's a 90/100 dollars shoe that has to be trashed skating, from what I've seen in reviews materials last and they are comfortable and they grip well....

Decent chance these are reps considering they’re from StockX lol, although to answer your question in my experience the materials are often sourced from very similar (if not the exact same) place, so you’ll most likely find similar quality leathers and suedes to what Nike use. They usually skimp out on things like the material used for the sole, the laces and internal elastics, insoles, boxes, and basically anything that’s not the upper of the shoe lol.

Gotta say thank you because you and another KZfaq, as well as the hype train, has me pretty much done with Nikes and I now look for sneakers to not only look good but be of quality too. Also love that you've been exposing Nike's "leather" as it always seemed off to me that people would mention that x sneaker has premium leather, even when I did like Nikes.

@@Mohamed-bt7zx 15 at most, for the actual production atleast for a real leather dunk, but for fake yeah I can see these costing less than 10 to produce. Then add about 10-15 for bureocracy and distribution and the such. So we are left with around 50-70 dollars of profit for Nike depending on the dunk model, which is kinda nuts honestly.

You should consider the Off white 1-50 dunks for an episode, much cheaper to scoop then these trash flops in the resale market and a much better quality shoe. Retail was 180(I got a pair actually!) and the leather feels really buttery to me,(I’m no expert and couldn’t say whether it’s good or bad) but it’s got leather inside as well and the shoe has worn much better than an orange box or sb dunk.

I somehow managed to get the lot 1 OW dunk from last summers drop. The quality is actually still pretty dogshit. Leather feels very plasticy and the shoe is super uncomfortable.

I LOVE this content and I'm so happy I found this channel! I have a suggestion, if you don't mind. I'm a surgical tech and I work in the operating room all day and I was looking at "Waterproof" shoes, I came across the Vessi shoes "Everyday Classic" but they are kinda pricey, especially if they aren't comfy or waterproof. Another shoe is the Nike "Superrep" 1,2 and 3, just 1 or 2's 3's are a newer design. Thanks for the content! 💚💚💪🏽💪🏽

two suggestions: - get a big shear made so the in-half can be done in one satisfying thunk. big heavy blade on a pivot. great chance to collab with another youtuber. - branch out into car leather. seats and dashboard panels can probably be got for a satisfying price from u-pick-it type places and i have strong suspicions that most car leather is pretty shit. love the channel, love the work.

Love the way you dissect the shoes! there is a brand called Klogs Footwear, It is very popular with workers in health care and food service. They have Made in America models. I would love to see you take one of these apart.

I’d be curious to see you to tear apart one of Nike SB’s “Orange Label” Skateshop exclusive dunks. Look up the “Nike SB Dunk High Pro ISO Kentucky”, its resale is relatively low and the leather looks to be of a decent quality 👀

This right here is why I don't pay resell for shoes because if I am going to pay $2k for some shoes it would be on some bespoke high end shoes. If I am paying that much money for a pair of shoes I want the quality that comes with it, but now a days people on care about the "clout" of owning the shoe and the hype around it.

I'm a little late to the party but I must say, I am a sneakerhead and out of all the shoe related content on YT your channel is the one I watch videos all the way the through. Also, thank you for doing this video since I was really looking to cop a pair of these from a reseller but will now pass seeing as this shoe is made from recycled ice cream cartons and spray paint.
