You should start a series called “Nomad Kids” my babies are bilingual dual citizens. I want to teach them to go where they are treated best. And think internationally I even have a globe in the house they can play around with.

In addition to raising your children in a bilingual environment, are you integrating a nomad or travel-oriented lifestyle with your children as well?

@@RadicalPersonalFinance Hi Joshua, I let my kids watch international cartoons like Masha and the Bear ( from Russia) , Remy and Boo ( from Canada) Sesame Street ( from Kuwait in Arabic) . So they can learn language and get a taste of other cultures. Also they have something in common with kids around the World. Masha and the Bear comes in many languages even Arabic. I listen to your podcast and I am looking forward to hearing about your trip around the world. Happy Travels!

I like the idea of planning your own "education program" for your kids. My question is what kind of subjects would they be teached and how, if they don't go to any conventional school?

These are the endless challenges that homeschoolers wrestle with! If you start digging in to the world of homeschoolers, you’ll find lots of people testing and trying different approaches. For us, we major on Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic as academic areas of focus and use more of an unschooling- and world schooling-inspired philosophy for the other things.

There is so much excellent curriculum out there to choose from. It is hard to choose at first. But there are tons of groups on facebook, etc. If you are willing to spend 5-10 thousand a year, you can mix in great tutors for whatever special subjects you want your kids to really drill down into. Any parent can do elementary, i think, as long as they have the temperament.

I don't think I understand. if you are living, as we are, a Trifecta lifestyle, it means that you are in countries as a tourist, not as a resident. The education of your children is not their concern. Or so it would seem to me. Suppose I live in the U.S., home school my children and decide to spend my 90 Schengen days one summer in Germany. Will Germany try to force us to enroll our children in a German school when the kids are on summer break? I undestand if I get residency in a country, as I had for a time in Belarus, that the country would likely have some jurisdiction over the education of my children, even if I didn't spend very much time there. After all, I'm a resident. However, if I'm a tourist, isn't that a different thing entirely?

It is a golden age for home and unschooling. I wonder how long it will last in that it most certainly is not a golden age for public schooling and more and more people are recognizing that. Homeschoolers have existed for a long time under the radar of the eye of Sauron, but that may change....

@@Matthew24.4 the solution isn't to avoid ideation you may disagree with; it's to explain why the idealogy may be wrong citing evidence. For Carnegie kids there's no need to functionally integrate into society, but I'm betting crowds with that level of wealth aren't unschooling either.

@@blueblur1984 - part of the solution is to not have my kids exposed to cultural Marxist ideologies and brainwashing they would receive in the traditional education system. @@johanhuovinen8412 That old canard! I disagree with that view of education. Education is not zero sum and is not merely the transposition of information from a 'knower' to an 'unknower'. Your statement indicates a closed mind so I don't expect you to look this up, but for everyone else check out what John Taylor Gato, Sir Ken Robinson, and Seth Godin have to say about school and education.
