Well you're certainly the dissenting opinion because no one else thinks that - critics and audiences alike. If that's all you took from the movie then you probably should just stick to looking at road signs. Watch a video explaining what the movie is about

Alexander, the movie is a wild adventure but at the core of it are some powerful messages. In case you missed any, here are some of my takeaways: 1a. Nothing matters in life. And yet, everything can matter. We can easily choose nihilism, and yet we must choose hope. 1b. We can't force others out of their depression/suicidality. It can be hard when it's someone you love, but sometimes we need to do far more listening than speaking. Actually hear how people are feeling and support them. 2a. Kindness and compassion can change the world. We need to be active in our kindness, not passive. 2b. If we focus on fulfilling people's most basic human needs, the need for violence and hate drastically reduces. We can fight violence with collective love and kindness. 3. Immigrant families are often overlooked and yet their stories are so powerful 4. A critique of "alpha male" masculinity (especially amongst Asian men who are often de-masculinized, made to be "weak") 5. An appreciation of the skillsets of professions that are often de-legitimized (Evelyn can only succeed because of the strengths she utilizes from occupations including sign spinner, singer/performer, cleaner which are all jobs that aren't valued by society) There's also excellent symbolism in the movie with the Googly eyes and Bagel being inverses of each other and representing the dichotomy between nihilism and hope. Great humour, excellent action scenes, a very original screenplay, and fantastic acting performances.

@@hugolewis4896 Just because the mainstream thinks it's good doesn't mean it's good. I don't go with hypes. Dont get me wrong, i like mainstream mostly but that Film and overly cheesy happy ending as not my case. I don't go with hypes. If that were me in 1999 I would have hated Fight Club like most did when it first came out! For me, then as now, it was a masterpiece of cynical film art.
