Fun fact: The guy who voices Baird was supposed to be a white version of Cole pretty much. Coles VA came in and did such an amazing job they created Cole for him and turned Baird into what Baird is now.

My dad got me a 360 for my birthday and this was one of the first games we got. We played the co-op campaign and beat it on every difficulty. Great memories

First time I played Gears, I was really scared at the Berserker part, and called my best friend and neighbor to help me play through it. Then we played through the whole trilogy.

GoW is still my favorite game franchise. I have thousands of hours logged in multiplayer across all 5 games. 4 and 5 are okay, but the original trilogy was just so damn good. Dom's arc was just soooo good and his final scene actually made me cry. So good.

I was literally thinking about Gears just the day before this video was posted, the music especially! From the little jingle of the Crimson Omen to the chorus of the main theme, it sticks with me, from the first day I played Gears to now, even though I haven't played anything after Judgment.

You hit EVERY point of what made this game so amazing. The entire reason I saved and bought a 360 was because I saw an article about GOW in a gaming magazine (maybe a Game Informer), and just wanted to try it. The original 3 games were the only games my family played, me, and 7 of my siblings. The sheer number of hours spent playing campaign and multiplayer between all of us…this brought back some great memories.

Back in 2010 when I was 10 my aunt married my uncle and he introduced me to the 360. We played Halo 3, Bad Company 2 and we basically lived in Gears of War 2. It was my childhood, if it wasn't for him and Gears of War then I wouldn't have been as into gaming as much as I am now, I would've never met my best friends or my girlfriend. I still love Gears to this day, I still go back and replay the series.

I loved watching Gears playthroughs as a kid, and only fell in love with it once I was able to afford my own Xbox. I also love the Karen Traviss novels as well. Makes that opening scene in Gears 4 kinda heartbreaking when you realize that the Santiago riding with Hoffman wasn't Dom, but (I think) Dom's brother, Carlos (who would be KIA at Aspho Fields).

My dad, brother, sister, and I all used to play Gears 3 hoard together and try to reach wave 50. Those nights were always very fun.

One of my favorite things about gears design is the techniques they use to take you out of the darkness and intensity of an already mechanically tense game (in a very good way). For the first time in probably a decade or longer I played through the entire original gears 1 campaign on hardcore. Once I took raam down and the credits roll, it’s like as soon as you let your shoulders relax and take a deep breath that goofy mashup song starts playing with Cole like “OH YEAH BRING IT ON SUCKA THATS MY KINDA SHIT” and it just make me chuckle to myself like it was exactly what I needed after putting myself through babysitting dom’s original AI for the first time since I was a young teenager 😂 also as a minor multiplayer detail, I forgot that even though you have unlimited roadie run stamina, your cog character will sound like their lungs start collapsing if you run long enough. I played a match as Hoffman and it’s hilarious. His voice actor definitely recorded whatever a guy hoffman’s age would sound like if he had to sprint laps around a mausoleum

Gears 1 mp was the only game I was good at online. Weapon sliding to the sniper at canals ready to hear that sweet pop noise with a headshot. Nostalgia

oh fuck YESSSS i was just about to comment on another vid if youd ever cover GOW... my absolute fav game franchise, i've played thru the first 3 so many times, 2nd one being my fav. Even with Judgment (I lowkey like the story) and Gears 5, I still hold this game series in such high regard. I can not wait to watch these and hopefully the other titles in the future. Gears was the first game I got with my very first Xbox 360 back in 2007, been playing them since and I can't wait for this. Your vids are so fun as a gamer to watch and just enjoy the fun part and good dialogue you provide. I’m a PS player all the way. Saved up for a beefy PC, but I still take out my old uncle’s 360 to play gears with my brother. I kinda like how the old one looks more. I know many complain about the muddy brown and grays, but man, growing up with it makes it bliss.

Fun fact about the Brumack mission, if you got the PC version of the original game you could play it back in the day. I didn’t find out until GoW 2 and yes I was a little salty about it at the time.

Man, this game is so good, I played this with my dad back in the day and loved it. My bros at 6 and 5 played Gears 1 on the hardest difficulty to get Raam for Gears 2. My wife and I played half through the game and Im hoping soon to play the games start to finish. My story will continue with Gears into the next game.

This game was my Halo growing up. Watching my uncle kick some ass on multiplayer and when I get the chance to play, it's usually the campaign as Dom, which is why he is a favorite for me instead of Marcus. But yeah, an amazing game!

Early 360 memories unlocked. I had just got out of Basic Training. Took my first paycheck to GameStop and bought a 360 and Gears of War. The good old days.

Gaming has always been a part of my life, but that 2006 Era, when I got my first 360, was something really special. Gaming has been good since then, but few things have been as magical. Gears, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Halo 3, The Darkness, Dead Space, Mass effect, Xbox Live in general. Who knows what other games I've forgotten. Everything was just awesome

Our household had a rule where, once my dad bought a game, he had to play it through 100% to completion before any of us could play it. I'm assuming it's so we didn't spoil things for him / didn't hog the disc when he wanted to play. Either way, Gears was one of the best series to watch him play when I was a kid. Always giving callouts on where E-holes were was one of my best memories of this game.

On insane, everything works as you think it does. Shooting them in armored parts does very little damage (entire mags or more) But then, every little mechanic works in your favor, leg shots do alright damage all around but they down locust for easy headshot damage. Helmets need to be shot off before headshots do damage. You then realize why the bow is the strongest gun in the game besides the hammer. Grenadiers rush you to one hit you with melee or grenade tag you. They are smart, and the game will surprise you with how much depth the combat has. Oh and btw, the squad commands are soooo usefull!

Please do all of them! Whether for wrong or great!

The thing I love about gears is just how useless their armour is, how they don’t even bother with helmets or even sleeves and yet the armour is STILL soo iconic. Love gears of war! Number 2 was the best, prove me wrong.

The added bits with the Brumak was actually only in the PC version of Gears 1 (on Windows). So when it came to remastering the game, of course they decided to bring it back.

I recommend playing Gears 5 with Dave Bautista as Marcus, man was born to play Marcus

The new Chapter 5 wasn't made for the definitive edition, it was cut from the original release. It was in the PC release of Gears back when Games for Windows Live was a thing...ugh. Now I had to remember that. But I was so confused when I played Gears on Xbox 360 and a whole chapter was missing.

I remember I had a habit of using EVERY gun I had at the point so that after the fight everything needed to be reloaded. then started to do it so I got at least 1 kill with each weapon. still do it because the reloading sounds in Gears is just so clunky and crunchy and I LOVE IT! Also, Clay Carmine is my favorite character, mostly due to 'Jeez Louise what the fuck!' in 3.

The horde in 2 was awsome camping a power weapon spawn and setting up barriars with mauler shields. Those were the days

No lie lad, I got Gears 1 as a bundle with the 360 on release, and oh boy... that first Berserker fight messed me up! Legit had to get me mates or me brother in on player 2 to get me through it, and from there... well, let's say my brother and me played so much, that we were kinda lost when _the fucking truck_ happens. To this day, Mad World brings back emotions we ain't fully okay with. Gotta say though, having never seen the ultimate edition, it looks _glorious!_ the extra details, Baird's Guy Fieri looking hairdo, and _Raam,_ oh my boy, they did you _good!_

How old was I when I got into Gears? 18. And I was born in 2000. Got my first Xbox in 2017, came with Gears 4 and Fifa 17. Technically I got the game at 17, but I was honest and gave my correct age on my account and I had to wait until my birthday to play Gears 4. The disk came with redeem codes for the trilogy plus Judgment and I've been a Gears fan since.

Funnily enough I had my sister co-op to play as Dom just to beat General Raam in the original incarnation of gears on the 360, on the hardest difficulty, as back then it was nearly impossible to beat him alone. Getting her to play that one segment caused her to be obsessed with the series going forward.

I played through the original games with a friend of mine shortly before Gears 4 came out, and I had a blast experiencing the series for the first time.

Gears of War, just like Halo, is one of the most respected gaming franchises in Latin America. This was, if I remember right, one of the first games that got proper localization to Latin American Spanish and set the standard for any videogame dubbed to Spanish afterwards. The dub was made in Mexico, and all the actors and translators did a fantastic job, the jokes, the cursing, the emotion, everything was kept intact and in some cases I'd say it was even done better. Sabastian Llapur's Marcus is just as iconic for Latinos as John DiMaggio's Marcus is for English folks.
