If you think about it Mileena really did nothing wrong. It was Kitana who attacked her. Mileena just woke up and wanted to get to know Kitana. Add to Shao manipulating her into the beast we know and love and it’s even sadder. Poor thing.😢

I started with Mortal Kombat X at a young age and I absolutely loved Johnny Cage and spamming crouch kick since he was one of the only normal-looking guys and just cool in general.

I love this story because Raiden used to be my main, and it felt great to just whoop everyone in a row during the last act

You make me feel old, friend lol. I am 37 years old and remember when I played the first Mortal Kombat when I was 8 or 9. My Mom was cool with me playing games like this, because I knew from the start that it was fake and not to try any of it in real life. When this reboot came out, I was blown away. It was so cool seeing all of my favorite fighters again and to see them all of them look so detailed. The story had me hooked the entire time and my friends hated me for being so good with Sub-Zero lol.

This MK was the first i bought myself. I tried the storymode and just couldnt get good for it, tried a few times and kept failing, loved the X-Rays, Sub-Zero and Scorpion. But had the book for it, and recently sold it for almost full price still as it was a collector's thing.

I first played MK when I was 5 or 6 when it came out on the Sega Genesis all the way back in 92. I never beat it as I was a damn young kid but always enjoyed watching my dad and his buddies play it while inputting the cheat code to turn on blood.

This game & the 3D games mainly Deception & Armageddon are my childhood so I’ll always love them. I do have some issues with MK9 now, mainly with the MK3 adaptation for the story. For what the story became in X & 11, I don’t like evil Sindel at all in 11. Also some of the costumes for women characters really don’t fit their character (mainly Kitana & Sonya, they just don’t feel right to me compared to their previous costumes). And Shao Kahn isn’t really a schemer as much in the previous games he used to be like. But it doesn’t bother me so much, I still love the game all the same. I was about 7 when I started playing the series, started with Armageddon playing with my older siblings. Now I’m 20 & still love the series so much & very much looking forward to MK1, the beta has been a blast & love the 3D characters getting a lot of representation in it. Since it’s been so long since we’ve seen many of them.

Shaolin Monks was my first Mortal Kombat game and I always played ko-op with my dad.

Small correction mk9 is not a continuation of armagadon. Armagadon is canonically the last game in the ore NRS universe. We know for a fact an armagadon like plot point will happen every time, mk9 takes place after one of these possible plot points. The reason this is important to distinguish is because there are differences in NRS universe that aren't caused by raiden and he doesnt seem to react to them being different which means they probably aren't different case in point mileena if this was set after armagadon he would never know to lead kitana to find Mileena hell he would never know why she doesn't already know about mileena. I heard a theory that changes like that are cracks in the time line because of his meddling but that doesn't explain how his future self can give him info on mileena that he never experienced.

I think the reason you like Johnny more as you get older is due to the sheer magnitude of confidence he exudes. The man is basically sculpted out of 100% solid confidence, and it has an effect.

I was born in 1994 and was playing Mortal Kombat since before I was even making memories, one of my earliest in fact involves my uncle and I playing Mortal Kombat Trilogy on his PS1 and I've been a super fan of the series ever since. So you bet your ass I pre ordered the kollectors edition of MK9 as soon as it was announced, that title screen was a rush of nostalgia unlike anything I've ever felt.

Played this game in 2012/2013 with my older brother (16 &10) and we were absolute noobs as this was one of our first fighting game on a new console (ps3). We would take turns mashing the controls just to win. We bought the game because it had Kratos who we loved because we just finished GOW2. I remember beating Shao Kahn as Raiden with the tiniest health advantage known to man. We were shedding tears cause of excitement. My favourite character was Smoke and Noob and I am sure his was Scorpion and Raiden.

Liu Kang, appalled, because this buffoon who apparently is very talented WON'T finish the job because he's been taught by Wu Shi monks that Outworlders are as ruthless and will give no quarter... Raiden, as he gives a calm and approving nod to this noob who happens to be a good fighter and believes that Johnny choosing not to kill is an act of human compassion, and for Johnny himself, thinking that this whole tournament is just for laughs and doesn't give a damn but for flicks and glory, and choosing not to kill Baraka because... Simply he looks astounded that his features are real. Fun!

So glad I can still enjoy this game on my xbox series x ☺

The scorpion and Quan chi tag team match gave me the most trouble plus the cyber sub zero tag team

I began MK here. This was just before MK11 came out. Still haven't played X yet despite having it a while. What I will give credit for these newer MKs is a main story mode with traditional Arcade style mode with character endings. Should be standard I feel. Fingers crossed for Tekken 8.

I think NRS deserve a win alone for making fighter games that appeal to the non-FGC audience. Seriously, Mortal Kombat is the only fighting game franchise that people will buy just to play the story mode. Sure, the writing isn't revolutionnary, but it's interesting enough to keep you engaged. And that's far more than any other competitors does.

has anyone noticed that mk9, mkx and mk11 have a lot in common with avengers infinity war and endgame there is a big villain not from earth and he wants the strongest power in the universe and he has 2 daughters (shao kahn with jade and kitana, thanos with nebula and gamora) a wise character uses an artifact to see the future (dr strange, raiden) and realizes that the villain has to win there is a young strong woman with energy powers (cassie cage, miss marvel) the thunder god is defeated by the big villain (shao kahn and raiden, thanos and thor) there is a guy with knives (kano, drax) there is an agent (sonya, Black widow) there is an archer (kung jin, hawkeye) there is a guy with a round shield like weapon (kung lao, captain america) there is a guy with metal arms (bucky, jax) the thunder god gives his power to the main hero (raiden and liu kang, thor and cap) a large Number of characters die but they return to life because of time travel thats all i noticed but there could be more

One of the best games would be incredible if it had a story mode with the dragon Onaga being the villain Along with the adaptation of Mythologies Sub Zero and having others characters that appear in the story And sometimes in the background of fights and also in the game history but are not usable and only appear as a reference And Easter eggs and their names are mentioned a few times they are: Kenshi,Rain,Skarlet,Cyber Smoke,Havik,Reiko,2 Khameleon,Tanya,Frost,Sareena,Nitara And finally Li Mei All of these characters are in the game in the story but are not used and playable,as well as the bosses Shao Khan,Kintaro,Motaro and Goro It's really a shame and a pain in my heart but the game is incredible and very good Being the best of all at the time and even today,he made the childhood of many,I just missed these characters and the extra story dlc with Onaga the main villain With all these extra characters Our hero characters getting to know each one of them in a story dlc It's a shame it didn't happen and will never happen... 🥺🤧😔 like and Bye!

In terms of tag team, I think it's an amazing concept... for casual play. It was horribly balanced competitively in MK9, but fun as hell, especially with other people. I like having some broken shit, but not a ton and kept casual
