Love how the Fact Enel is shown so overpowered that some people forget Luffy's rubber and he's immune to Enel's attack.

Enel restarting his heart will never not be one of the most shocking moments in the series for me.

it is always interesting how we the viewers/readers know Luffy is a rubber human but it takes Enel attacking Luffy to realize for most that Luffy was immune to lightning :P

Even to this day, I still say Gum-Gum Airhead is the most inspired idea Luffy’s ever had mid-fight lol. He really just sat there for a sec and went “This guy can read my thoughts? Well screw him, who needs thinking!!” and it worked 😂

Most of Enel's attacks have a thunder/storm/lighting gods name attached to it.

Fun Fact: The tomato that the kid threw at Conis was a rock in the manga ... that juice is blood and she took it so easily lol

That "chest slap" you're wondering about is actually a staple of classic Japanese two men comedy called _Manzai_ in which a "Straight-man" (here in most cases Usopp) and a "Funny-man" tell jokes of which the punch line usually consist of the slap reaction of the Straight-man.

The light slap thing is from a very popular slapstick stand-up comedy style in Japan called Manzai. It's a duo act where one person is the straight man (Tsukkomi), and the other (Boke) does something stupid or says something outrageous, and the tsukkomi responds with a smack and a retort. A large, large amount of Oda's comedy comes from that. If you've seen in other anime someone smacking someone else with a paper fan, that's also from Manzai acts.

@18:08 The drums on his back are a reference to the god of lightning/storms/thunder Raijin in Japanese mythology. As a pretty prevalent deity it's not hard to believe that it's coincidental if other mangaka reference it in their work.

18:07 by the way, both Enel and the Demon Slayer villain are based from the same source, Raijin god of thunder in japanese mythology that had that ring with the drums coming out of its back

Eneru being a giant douche canoe and finally learning all the many ways he has cemented himself as a proper Bad Guy is great. Him being lightning and the Luffy being immune was one of the best story beats in the arc. That face has become iconic, and a whole host of characters have their own version of it from now on. I cannot wait for the history and the reveal of everything next Saturday or the week after!

Skypeia is probably one of the most divisive Arcs or Sagas out there, but for me it's one of my Favorites. And Next, oh man I can't wait for next week.

43:58 So from what I have seen from some games and japanese material. I may not be 100% correct here. But the slap thing is a sort of comedy called Manzai. I will take a part of the Wikipedia here. Manzai usually involves two performers (manzaishi)-a straight man (tsukkomi) and a funny man (boke)-trading jokes at great speed. Most of the jokes revolve around mutual misunderstandings, double-talk, puns and other verbal gags.

U just saw the most powerful (overall atleast) DF in one piece in its full glory. It has insane range, insane dmg, insane movement, insane usage, and its a logia.

Considering how much praise was given to how well written of a villain Eneru is here, it makes me wonder who you like more at this point: Eneru or Crocodile?
