As a minimalist every year is a low buy year, so I thought it would be fun to show you everything I bought last year. I bought a total of 13 different items, some second hand and some new, and it was very fun to see everything I bought and think about my consuming last year, as an extreme minimalist.

I did a no clothes buy year about 7 years ago and it changed my "need" to look mindlessly around clothing shops all the time. Whenever I felt the need to shop I'd buy a few grocery items and that was enough for me. I've also recently got back into second hand clothes shopping after a break of many, many years. I have a great local charity shop and purchase from there. Its cheap, the money goes to charity and resources aren't going into making new clothing. If something doesn't work out I can just re-donate the item.

I just found your channel today, and now I've seen a few of your videos. Wow I really like them and resonate with the topics! 😊 I'm also vegan, working on being a minimalist, have stopped using make up 3 years ago, have not decided yet if I want to have children (due to the reasons that you brought up in your other video) etc. I'm also from Sweden (outside of Helsingborg), but I've lived in many countries around the world. I just came back to Sweden now after living in India for 4 months. Thanks for your inspiring videos! 🙏💗 I believe that you are also a lightworker and starseed changing this world for the better. 🌟Well needed. Thank you. ❤

I like how you 'decorate with plants'. I do the same, for the reasons you give. I was inspired by (traditional) Japanese design principles to create a calming space when dealing with incipient burn out. The principles are rooted in Zen, in particular 'ma' (the use of negative space). So while I have one print that I find particularly beautiful in a space I have made into my tokonoma, my walls are completely bare. But plants bring nature into my space and are calming, rather than garish.

Yes, I love plants. I hope to have larger plants in my future home, and to be able to invest and care for plants that clean the air and keep the indoor air clean and healthy. I quite like the concept of earthships and how they incorporate gardening and growing food IN the house. Super fascinating.

I find this so inspiring! I would love to get a hold on my spending habits and decrease my things rigghht down to only what I need and use - it’s a slow and thoughtful process though so I need to be patient!

Thank you so much! Yes, it’s so important. Since I became a freelancer I got into the habit of writing down any purchases for possible taxes and that’s really helped me keep track of things! But patience is key like you sat!

Hello, and yes, I am doing a low buy year this 2022. I’ve only purchased a 2nd hand pair of JCREW corduroy slacks to keep me warm this winter and some container tubs to store my flea market items as I sell at an outdoor flea market here in New Jersey in spring, summer, and autumn. I love your vintage crocheted outfit! You would look very good in it as you are tall and slim. i was a teenager in the 70s and I loved Ali McGraw’s crocheted hat in Love Story. My mom made me one just like it. Thanks for another enjoyable and inspirational video.

Yay good luck! Second hand sounds great, and how fun with a flea market. I absolutely love them. And wow how cool! My grandma knew how to crochet and knit but I never had the patience to. I sew but crocheting I find much more difficult!

Hey I’m from NZ too! I’m doing the opposite with my plants. I’m realising how many pots I’ve ended up with and all the stuff I end up needing and time to pot. I’m don’t have a green thumb so I don’t love taking care of them. Nz is so green and there are trees out every window of my house so don’t need so many thankfully, love your vid! So logical about the spending or lack therof :)

How cool! Haha that’s funny. I got a design tip from a lady and she said one big plant inside is better than many small. So now I’m trying to grow mine big and give away the small ones as gifts! Thank you!!

Yes, I am doing a low buy this year. Had a bit of a fail in the first month! I was annoyed with myself but it was a learning curve and I have done better in February. My credit card bill for both months is VERY much less than it has been and I am trying to consume more consciously. So fingers crossed.....!

Hi there, although this is a little off topic. I thought I would reach out to a fellow KZfaqr … I enjoy your videos very much and they always are positive and uplifting. I wondered whether you ever get any negative or argumentative comments and how you deal with them 😊.As even though I try my best to respond with reflection and dignity it often leaves me dumbfounded at that when minimalism in general is about positivity some few people can try to make it negative or focus on unimportant elements of videos. Also making assumptions before asking for clarification. Do you get this occasionally also or is it just me 😂? 🤔
@SagaJohanna
@SagaJohanna 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I definitely do get negative comments. I reply to them and try to make them remember I am human! That’s my best way of dealing with it. And if they’re just mean I don’t reply. Hope you’re doing well!

We must be careful with the text medium. It's stilted, has no tone, you can't see faces..so easy to take things out of context. And most people don't clarify, your right. The human mind seems to love filling in gaps...a simple example, if I say I love pancakes your mind instantly thinks I hate waffles !! Of course on more serious subjects it causes alot of hurt and arguments.

@@ayshafareed4935 Yes it can be difficult, and a lot of us have English as our second language which I think causes a lot of unnecessary confusion on the Internet.. :)
