Sea urchins like to wear hats, if you ever kept some as pets you can throw in tiny hats and they’ll put them on their head. It’s so hilarious and cute. Edit: yes, if you look up sea urchins wearing tiny hats you will not be disappointed. Some keepers 3D print hats that are water safe and the urchins take to them like glue, you can make top hats, those spin hats, and pirate hats and they will wear them all. Some even have hat preferences, some just really want a hat on their head and don’t care which.

Fun fact: if there are starfish at a “touch tank” in aquariums and such, the reason you don’t touch the bottom of a starfish is similar to those urchins, they have little suction feet, and they won’t let go, so ripping them off of you would rip off their legs and hurt them. I don’t know if its same for the urchins but if your scuba diving don’t touch the animals unless they touch you first, especially if you don’t know what they are

We have urchins for our saltwater tank and their spines are actually very fragile, we try to avoid touching them whenever we need to have our hands/tongs in the water because they seriously fall off at some of the most simplest of brushes When their spines fall off, it means they’re dying too!
@isopodslug6365 Жыл бұрын
So are you saying they die when theor spines fall off or that it is a indication of one dying
@LuckyDinosauur101 Жыл бұрын
