yay another young royals reaction! as some of the other comments have said, i can completely understand why wille does not want to take a stand. there is multiple factors for it, such as the court telling him to not do anything to put stress on his mom + i think ppl forget that he was literally told in s2 that if he was constantly challenging the royal court (which involves doing things like not being neutral/political) they would strip him of his title and give it to august which he does not want at the moment cause he hates him. but most importantly, wille hates having to be a representative for things, having to be a public figure, the face of a nation. it puts so much pressure on him when he has stated he would much rather just live as a regular person. sure, there may be a bit of selfishness in wille saying he doesn't want to take a stand but it really comes down to him just not wanting to be seen as the figure of a movement or community. if he becomes an advocate for the lgbtq community as the crown prince/future king, he will automatically be under extreme pressure. ppl outside of the community BUT also ppl WITHIN the community will constantly be criticizing and monitoring his every move, like whether he speaks out about a certain thing, whether he campaigns for this or that, whether his statements are good or not, whether he is doing "enough" for the community. its just another added layer of pressure to what he already has to deal with.

I think wilhelm doesn't want to take a stance because he doesn't like the spotlight and everything he does could reflect on his mothers health also his mothers says always That Erik was perfect so wilhelm believed it. But this ep he acted like those rich royalty classmates

As Sweden's real ”head of state” and king, you must be ”politically neutral”. In actions and statements. That is the issue they bring up in this serie. From time to time when our real king presents his opinion in media, it happens now and then that someone complains and claims that the king has not acted politically neutral. So it is a real dilemma for a member of the Royal Family that often have a drive and wanting to help people in social issues and develope the society in a positive way, and at the same time be able to avoid political issues on the same question. There is then a big risk that some group of the opposite interest uses the situation. So it really is a tightrope walk that the royal house must walk. And it is an art that not many can master and requires many years of training.

Now, see, some time ago I'd have said that indeed it's weird for the PR for the royal court not to help out more. But after the Kate Middleton fiasco, this became totally believable. 😅

you're right. these characters are heavily flawed, which is what you want for any story, and a series. no one is perfect. we have to remember these kids weren't used to actually protesting anything so, it's not surprising that they wouldn't know exactly what to do or how to thoroughly plan things out. these are privileged kids used to getting what they want. they weren't thinking this could last more than a day or not being able to eat. they don't think about consequences unless it affects them in some way. i agree w/wilhelm being selfish in not looking to help others more beyond his position, which is my continuing conflict w/the conclusion of this series, as i'm sure you've seen already, just haven't posted yet. so, i'm sure i'll say more on that once you post the finale. tbh, i'm glad august revealed another side of erik to wilhelm because he's always seen erik as the poster child for perfection and what he has to achieve in order to be crown prince. wille needed this wake up call because even those we love can do terrible things. i've been in the middle of the road w/felice's friends fredrika and stella since the beginning, but their elitism really came out this season. w/each episode they annoyed me more and more. this episode was the wipe my hands and be done w/them.

They told Simon no posts and no interaction. They didn't tell him to delete his IG. He could have just privated it. And also, why do some gen z think that your insta equals your personality? I can delete my socials and I'll still be me. They don't make me who I am. Wilhelm is just 17 and not yet the king. He can't do as he pleases right now, because they can replace him with August. I do think there are social issues he can do a lot for, but the timing isn't right. He should be secure in his position first. The school demonstration wasn't a public demonstration. It's literally on private ground behind closed doors. So it's not the same thing.

Hi, hi! So happy to see another episode. Before I begin, I just wanted to say that I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. I might not agree with all of them, but for me personally, that's what makes watching reactions fun! I hope you aren't getting any hate for sharing your opinions. If you are, just know that there are many people who appreciate you (like myself). Anyway, here are my thoughts on this episode. 1. Simon and his family should have had body guards immediately after Wille's speech. The fact that the Royal Court didn't step up until an incident occurred tells me that they willfully neglected the situation. 2. I can understand why Wille doesn't want to be a representative of the LGBTQ+ community. I definitely think you made valid points in your video, but he is also still a kid. Not only is his relationship with Simon is still new, but it is also his first queer relationship. So I can understand why he would want to treasure this aspect of his life privately. I think it would benefit him greatly if he waited to feel more comfortable in his skin to take a public stand. Because right now, he's still anxious and nervous. HOWEVER COMMA I don't see why he didn't choose a issue that drummed up less controversy. I really liked Simone's mental health suggestion. 3. It was hypocritical of Vincent and other students to take part in a demonstration while making fun of Simon for doing the same. And I was heart broken when Wille participated. This tells me that he (whether subconsciously or not) picks and chooses which issues to speak on. I don't know if you caught it, but Simon asks him, "So you can only take a stand when it costs you nothing?" That line hit hard. 4. It's crazy to me that Simon was the only one to catch on August might have an eating disorder. His friends laugh it off, but the expression on Simon's face tells me that he's concerned. I'm sure he would have asked if he was okay if this was anyone else but August. He really said, "Oh-no....anyways."

I don't think Wille is being selfish, but I understand why some people would think so. But I think he just wants a "normal" life. Loving someone shouldn't be political. (not the reality, I know, but I get where he's coming from)

11:40 The reason why he can’t is bc he’s the prince only, they can still change and make August the king so when Wilhelm eventually is king I think he would definitely stand up to all that but rn he’s still not king. He also wanna make sure his mom doesn’t break down even more and he also knows that the royalties still don’t want him to be w Simon but they have respected it rn and that’s why I think he’s scared in the sense that they might force them apart again otherwise
