Been telling people all season that Jalen had to unlearn all the bad habits he picked up under the Coach Silas era. It takes time and I knew Coach Udoka would get him there. Love to see it.

Even before the Sengun injury, they’ve been starting to come together. Another thing is they’ve been playing with a lot of physicality, getting into altercations with other teams and players. Everytime they’ve gotten into an altercation, they win.

When Houston signed FVV and Brooks, majority of fans/media disregarded the signings as one of the worst off-season signings without looking into the context and what Houston wanted to do. I knew from the Start that they were great signings. Both Fred and Dillon provided a steady veteran leadership while changing the entire team culture along with Udoka
@parrits
@parrits 2 ай бұрын
It’s because they weren’t rocket fans. We could see the talent on the team, we were young, no one played defense and we needed a REAL coach. I made a bet with a friend at the beginning of the season we’d make the playoffs the second we signed Ime. Probably gonna lose but it’s ok makes me feel good I know my team.

I wanted brooks in the Magic. Won Fiba defensive player. He’s a dawg ppl sleep. Good pick H
@juqual78
@juqual78 2 ай бұрын
That is because they don't know basketball. A good point guard can make everyone on your team better and that is what FVV brings. Fred can also play off the ball and spread the court so that allows Green and Sengun to share the load on playmaking. Brooks kind of sucks but he is their enforcer. He brings a defensive toughness that every team needs. People are less like to try to punk you and your team if Brooks is in your face. Just ask Demarr Derozen when he literally tackled Jalen Green because he was mad that Jalen, Amen and Brooks were shutting him down with a stifling 1-5 switching defense. Brooks wasn't having any of it. He immediately confronted Demarr. That is called having your teammates back. That builds chemistry and intangibles that simply can't be measured. FVV signing is looking like pure genius, because it's actually only 2 years with a 3rd year option, and in the NBA you have to spend 90% of your money by rule. Brooks is kind meh overall as starting SF but at least he does get up for big matchups and makes life MISERABLE for the other team. Something that again, is very hard to quantify. With that said Brooks will be likely be sitting on the bench to start games next year. Not having Amen start over him would be a crime against basketball but Ime isn't going to go there yet because he understands the value of his leadership. Again something hard to measure but easy to see, in the growth of the Rockets Core 6 and even their role players. The future is super bright for the Rockets.
@jq7352
@jq7352 2 ай бұрын
@@juqual78 Yeah I would say it would be better if we signed Brooks on a 2+1 as well but the questioning of FVV's signing at the start was completely unjustified. Rockets have been crying for a great playmaker bc KPJ is a great scorer but also a turnover machine. FVV has one of the highest ast/to ratio in the league a season before, can play off ball and has championship experience. He is the perfect mentor for Amen and they can either keep FVV as a sixth man or let him walk when his contract is up.

Anyone that says we don't need Sengun anymore is trippin...this type of uptempo basketball is great for the regular season, but things slow down in the playoffs...when he comes back, I say still run things through Green and let Sengun rebound and get paint points...letting Sengun go will be a huge mistake.

People seem forget, the Rockets are in rebuild mode, so whatever they do, especially with Udoka as their coach will work out. Ime is the reason they are where they are because he knows how to motivate, and use talent. But Green's future is up to him. Alpi is a keeper tho, without him, they wouldn't have ever beat Denver like they did, and not once but 3 times.

Tari Eason is a really solid piece that got injured in the preseason and played only a small number of games in pain, before being shut down to deal with the benign bone growth on his foot. Even then he was very productive and efficient with limited time and health. I suspect fans will learn all about him next year when he takes the next step. He's super athletic, has a 7'3" wing span and really great defensive instincts. Shot 32 then 36% from deep year 1/2 so I expect him to be a possibly elite 3 and D guy for years to come.

Nothing has changed, the team is just going through a very easy match schedule. Thus, this illusion situation arises, brother. Have you ever looked at the percentage distribution of contributions to the team's victories throughout the year? The season is quite a long marathon, but is there really a fan base that knows nothing about basketball to the extent that change winds blow every 10-game period? Is this organization really so chaotic a team? Fortunately, the coach seems to really know basketball, he must also see the players who are younger and sabotage each other and deliberately don't play in previous matches. Sadly, Green is just a selfish streetball star who knows nothing about team play and constantly wants the ball in his hands, he can only be a Chinese knockoff Harden at most, nothing more. Also, these teenage brothers don't even know who they're competing with and what kind of goat race they're getting into, you'll see.

I know teams (and especially restless GMs) are always trying to make moves. But for once, please don't trade anyone. Keep this core together, let Fred and Dillon's contracts run. Don't need to trade them either. Just don't resign them, and use that money to re-sign this entire young core. Amen, Jalen, Tari, Jabari, and Sengun with Cam of the bench. That is the perfect team right there. You can fill out the rest with the Nets picks over the next 4 years. Don't need to make any moves whatsoever over the next 4 years. Just be patient! I just want to see how good the chemistry of a team can get with some legit time together. For as long as I can remember, no team has ever even attempted to keep their entire team together. But this is the perfect team to do that.

If Ime was still the coach of the Celtics I'll feel more confident about them making a deep playoff run and eventually winning the championship. With Joe you feel like despite having "the unicorn" they will get bounced by the Heat . Heck they lost two in a row to a Hawks team without Trey. Damn!

They should keep Green, he needs to work on efficiency,, but he spreads the floor and gives Sengun an outlet and space inside. I like Oladipo, so knowing he turned that $ down while being injury prone is sad, it was too soon to bet on himself.

Victor Oladipo made more than $100 million in his career, and likely just wanted to play for a contender in his last couple of years. 🏀

Jalen Green is a solid young player Houston is on the rise for sure n I dnt like Dillon Brooks but he seems like a ride or die teammate which is probably the most respectable thing about his ass.
