Күн бұрынLuke Skywalker had 2 lightsabers. He had his father's, Anakin Skywalker...until Vader cut his hand off and the weapon with it. Later, he used the journal of Obi-Wan Kenobi to build his own lightsaber. It took a month, but he finally did it, and when he ignited the beautiful green blade, he knew this was his new weapon to defeat Vader and Palpatine.

Actually, they aren’t. Some are, like Kit Fisto’s lightsaber, but those were specifically adapted to work underwater.

love that he uses the old canon lore for this video. If my memory serves me, the furnace that luke used to refine his synthetic crystal was actually something he stole from the empire, Darth maul's lightsaber crystals were refined in a similar way using darkside energy in the furnace to give the synthetic crystals their red hue. Due to luke using the same process the Sith used to refine their crystals he had to alter the process by constantly injecting lightside energy into the furnace to balance out the darkside energy, too little and a sith crystal would be produced, too much and the dark and light energies would cancel each other out resulting in an explosion. The balance luke achieved in the furnace resulted in a synthetic green lightsaber crystal being formed.

Also synthetic kyber crystals usually turn red, dont remember where I read that though so not sure of its accuracy

@@jackburns6403 No they don't. In old Continuity sith crystals were synthetic or chipped fragments of a giant one belonging to Palapteen. Now red crystals are obtained by "bleeding" normal crystals to submit them to your will, purifying a red crystal gives white. In current continuity (in the master and apprentice books) synthetic krystals are called "fools Kyber" and they are orange/yellow.

For Vader to say that is huge. It proves that a making a lightsaber isn't just a thing Jedi do, it's a historical achievement.

It is also the regretful pride of an absent father who just watched his son grow up before his eyes. Vader began to soften up his attitude after his duel with Luke. Had this scene taken place on Episode IV he would cut coldly cut the boy down.

Honestly Luke's journey to become a jedi Knight is the best story of all star wars characters and I hope he gets the biggest Redemption in The Rise of Skywalker after the last milking jedi

I think it was one of the best stories because Luke did most of it on his own besides the training from Obi Wan and Yoda. I always loved the part where Vader takes his lightsaber and says "you've built a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete." And it's like, you know he came a long way to get to that point pretty much on his own.

@@hawk66100 I'm not sure but I think the book was first, then came the game, and finally the comics. It was a big deal back then, it was marketed almost like it was a new movie. Each version focused on different parts. The book focused on the main characters and the villains, the game focused on Dash Rendar and the comics kinda focused on Boba Fett and all of the rest of the characters.

I don't know if its cannon or not. I just read that Lucas did that to tie the prequels into the sequels and do it subtly. But with Disney taking over and changing everything I don't know if that is still true or not. It does make a lot more sense considering that kyber crystals were outlawed by the empire and only the empire would know where they are abundant. Also Luke would not have that information unless it was given to him by Yoda or obi-wan and if that were the case the empire would most likely have heavy guard on those planets.

I would like to believe it’s Anakin too for that last bit, but it also could’ve been Yoda. Remember, he had just got finished talking to Luke about not losing Rey too. In order to let her grow in the force, he had to let her go and trust that the force would lead her to where she needed to go. But that’s just my theory

In the Expanded Universe, Luke build his green saber at Ben Kenobi's hut on tattooine. according to the Novel, there was a furnace that he used to create the crystal. It's in one of the novels but I can't recall which one.

I like the idea that Obi-Wan Kenobi kept Qui-Gon Jinn’s saber in his belongings and he ultimately took the green crystals out and Luke later used the crystals of his master’s master to construct a new saber fashioned after his master’s.

Actually, the story about Luke making his own lightsaber in Kenobi's hut was first appearing in 1983 in the accompanying novel to the movie "Return of the Jedi", and not in the 2007 released Jedi vs. Sith. And since Lucas had to give his blessing to the novel, thus reading it, everything in there can be considered movie canon as he actually wasn't involved in the expanded universe. He only set out guidelines and a list of "don't do these things". He never read any novels, it was other people who did the checkups in what could be considered back then the "story and lore group".

I totally wanna see you do fauna profiles for different planets, and maybe even talk about the native races to the planet. For example, on Tatooine, I believe the Jawas and Tusken Raiders are truly native, along with the plethora of animals that exist on Tatooine. Just an idea if you happen to be interested, good work on the video! :)

Not strong enough to defeat Sidious.. Luke is supposed to be the most powerful force user of all time. Atleast 6 years ago he was.. Now he's just a memory..

Then there would never be a New Hope. Obi wan would never have gotten Leia's message. The Death star could have destroyed many more planets. The Empire wouldnt have a reason to strike back. The Jedi would never return. The force would not go to sleep. Yoda would have been the last jedi. Finally since Leia was an Organa Skywalker would never rise again... No Lucas Flims/arts and Movies could have ended up way different.. Movies in general might not

Alright, I finally subscribed...awesome stuff! "Jedi vs Sith..." is my all-time favorite SW book, and I'm happy to see someone featuring all of that amazing info and art. Canon, Legends, and a LOT of places where those two meet in the current saga storyline (I'll always see Rey and Kylo as Jaina and Jacen, Kanan as Katarn, etc), it's a great handbook of endless Force-related stuff and I can just lose myself in those pages! Cool channel! ✌😊 #MTFBWY

There's a book called Tattooine Ghost that has several entries from Shmi Skywalker's journal that she kept after Anakin left. I read a few entries online and thought that it would be a good idea to let you know
