When I was kid I always questioned why the Jedi didn’t deactivate their lightsabers when they were clashing, reactivate it when they got pass the enemy saber and cut down their enemies. Now that I know it’s an actual thing (trakata) I’m happy

Kreias three sabers held with force is my favorite unique form of them all. Such a simple concept of combining force with lightsabers and looks effective to boot.

Ahsoka Tano was another person who before and after she left the Jedi Order incorporated an unorthodox lightsaber combat form. As a padawan she would develop the unorthodox variant of Form V using the Shien variant of the form to an effective degree but with the reverse grip. The reverse grip allowed Ahsoka to make the wide sweeping movements necessary to take full advantage of the form's offensive/defensive properties especially within blaster fire. Later, under Anakin's instruction, she would learn to master Jar'kei and would incorporate wielding two lightsabers with her former technique and later created a very complex and difficult hybridized version of Shien/Ataru reverse grip with elements of the more aggressive lightsaber combat variant of Form V Djem So which she also learned from Anakin. After she left the Jedi Order and was a grown woman, Ahsoka had mastered her lightsaber combat variant to the highest degree to the point where she was able to defeat two, highly skilled Imperial inquisitors and was even able to hold her own against her former master turned Darth Vader; although, she was eventually overwhelmed by his powerful offensive blows but the fact that she was able to master lightsaber combat without additional training under the Jedi Order and hold her own for quite some time against Darth Vader who had up to point had killed many Jedi more skilled and experienced than she was, proved that Ahsoka quite the unique character.

Lord Grievous. I hate how much they nerfed is strength in the later Clone Wars with Ashoka. I knew something was wrong the minute I saw her fight him and last more than 60 Seconds.

Traya’s master is was actually more well known for the style, he was able to use 4 lightsabers and was able to use a different style with each one. He was actually of the same species as Yoda.

Lore, what about Exar Kun? You forgot about him. He's also unorthodox, a master at Trakata, has a Short Saberstaff that's difficult to wield and he changes length of his blade whenever he feels he might lose. He's versatile.

I remember as a kid thinking that Luke should have built a second smaller shoto light saber to telekinetically throw at his opponent, being that I was young and didn't know the terms used for the Force Powers. Imagine my suprise at later reading about his red shoto style saber in the now EU books. Then I made a story up about a girl alien native Force adept that was overlooked by the Jedi Selection process and she fashioned Sabers for herself and trained herself through discovery of either powers through necessity or through "trials" or rites of passage of her tribe who recognize Force Sensitivity as a gift and specially train those who show it to become like Warrior Shamans or Priestess'. I made up a planet with jungles and primitive style but techno cities. So imagine steampunk/medieval/old gothic style and then like the "primative" jungle people were more like Predators in their tech because it's Star Wars. It was a back water planet like Tatooine but not all sand. There was a desert and a tribe out there she had to meet to get crystals for her saber hilts and as a test to see if she could be diplomatic. The Shaman Warriors were like Arbiters who would roam around after being blessed by their home tribe and released to go explore the world. That will eventually lead our heroine off world and into a run in with a Jedi where she will learn of the Sith, the Jedi and the conflict at large throughout the Galaxy Far Far Away, but these are tales for another day. The story and script took years and I worked on it throughout my entire school career. I think I have it in a box in storage. Where I left off she was about to meet a middle aged and in his prime Jedi Knight Yoda and thus the wider adventure would begin. This alien species I created were kind of a mix of Swamp thing, Tolkiens Elves, Ninjas and Predators. They were biologically plantlike but humanoid so some would be leafy but only the hair. The males grew natural "bark" armor plates and had four arms. Skin color was phosphorescent and colored in mottled greens and browns between the plates and was the consistency of human skin but tougher. They also bioluminesed along lateral lines of the body if excited or angered, usually bright reds or yellows. The females were lighter green and mottled during hunting but could at will go to softer shades and pastels to show interest during mating and coupling. They also bioluminess. They don't get armor plates thus the need to trade for tech and the "predator power suits" mixed with "plant people tech" like poles that extend at the bearers will and actual "laser steel" attached to the ends when earned by every warrior or Hunter of her tribe. Only Force sensitive Shaman Warriors are allowed the sacred crystals used in building the lightsabers, found in the endless sand country's mines run by the other tribe I talked about. My character had a fighting style involving three. Twin blades for the hands and one controlled telekinetically. I put a lot of work into it. This is just a smidge of details.

Who needs a lightsaber. I just need my trusty blaster!

This is a good video but I feel like you missed two Jedi being Exar Kun with his rare short hilt double bladed lightsaber and Kazdan Paratus with his lightsaber Pike and cybernetic arms

Beldorion, also from the legends series, was fairly unique because he was the only _Hutt Jedi_ in the history of the order! Unlike the rest of the Hutts, he exercised so instead of becoming a 12 foot slug, he became a 20 foot long, totally jacked snake monster! He didn't use any special techniques but his was so strong that his blows could apparently break the bones of most other lightsaber wielders who tried blocking his attacks.

It comes as no surprise to me that Kreia employed such risky tactics that challenged traditional dueling concepts and punishes thos unwilling to adapt or incapable of adapting. She contented herself with blindness so that her physical sight would not compromise her force sensitivity, she allowed the permanent loss of her left hand just to prove neither she nor her students should confuse physical strength for actual power, and she was willing to abuse the bond between her and an apprentice to share crippling pain only she could endure without losing consciousness as a means of negative reinforcement.

When I first became a fan of Star Wars I always thought I'd want to fight like the jedi on the left pic of the thumbnail. It always seemed useful and cool.

My Favourite Display of Trakata is in one of the Trailers for that Star Wars MMO Game, Star Wars The Old Republic, I believe it is one of the latest trailers. Woman flies through her opponents with her lightsaber flashing on and off, absolutely awesome

On seeing the left side of the thumbmail or Darth Treia's (?) floating lightsabers I screamed: Fin Funnel! (Or rather Fun sabers in her case) *imagines Amuro Ray or Char Aznable as a Jedi.* Imagine Krell using all four arms wielding double bladed sabers or just two normal lightsabers in the two other hands. That'll give Grievous a serious challenge.

Anakin talked about how the Jedi order held his powers and abilities back. Your explanation of the 7 forms back up what he talked about. Jedi fight within forms and Sith do not. I would train as a Sith in form 3, 7, and unconventional form using the force to enhance quickness in fighting ability similarly to Yoda’s style.

Is there any explication as to why in the cartoon clone wars grevious was nigh unstable then in the animated series he's tough... Kinda likes to bully padawans but flees in the face of a real challenge and then completes the chain in the live action when he is a complete push over and is defeated by obi won handily?
