I recently watched Adventure Time: Distant Lands by myself. I was saving it for when I could watch it with someone I grew up with, like we did years ago. It's been 6 years since the original show's season finale, and the person who I would have watched the sequel with is no longer around. I realized the day I was waiting for will not come. But... I also realized that it's okay for things to not always go as you had planned.
Everything stays, but it seems like a lot of things go too.

I used to sing this song to my niece when I'd carry her around our backyard. It's been stuck in my head for the past 8 years lol. I figured now that I'm actually trying to produce music, I should try to make a proper cover of it... perhaps with a slight twist: "What if Finn wrote it?" This video is the "Finn" version. Thank you! I really wanted to keep the spirit of the original because it elicits such a unique feeling that's hard to capture. The main changes are that I slowed it down, mostly used ukulele instead of Marceline's bass, and raised the key to better fit Finn's range.

This just captured the beatiful backstory backstory of every character while also having a deeper message and touching the heart strings of people who haven't even seen the show yet. Adventure time means so much to so many and you really did it justice with this edit / cover!

At the time when I watch, distant lands I became quite distant with the original show but when I got to the Finn and Jake one oh man that brought out the feels especially the ending I think it even nearly brought me to tears and that told me despite me becoming distant with the show for many years, it still meant a lot to me and listen to this version reminded me of that definitely putting this in my playlist

This video just make me remember my late best friend. He loved this show so much, everytime we both hang out he would tell how much he loves this show and we both will talk about it everyday. Sadly he passed away because of cancer, which broke my heart so much. Its been 4 whole years and i still miss him. I would never find someone like him and.. this was his favorite song so im going to say. Thank you. He would loves to listen to this

In the words of my closest friend who died a few years ago. "If i for whatever reason pass away. If you remember me and cry, you're remembering me wrong cause the laughter we shared should still crack you up the same. As much as it sucked the timing for that deep rooted conversation was months before he had passed away. Still sucks remembering but somehow hearing this made the memories rush and as soon as i cried that sentence rang in my ear and i started laughing with the tears.

Honestly, this song cover really touched a soft spot in me that I never felt before. And this may be stupid to say, but I feel like just took away all of the personal baggage I’ve been feeling for a long while now, and well, I feel like there’s not a lot of weight putting down on me. This is really beautiful. I was surprised to read in your description that you hadn’t used generative AI and you put a lot of thought into crediting who you were emulating and how you did it. When I first clicked the video, I was nearly immediately turned off because I thought the voice would be generated, but then the singing came and I thought, “Either they’re using some really advanced AI to make it sound so good, or this is just pure heart.” I’m glad to see it was the latter. This is wonderful art, and a beautiful dedication to your friend. Keep putting your soul into your works. I hope this, and anything else you do, does spectacularly.

There’s not a lot that can make me genuinely tear up anymore, but reading about your childhood friend passing while listening to you sing… I could feel tears streaking down my cheek. I’m so sorry, man. I hope you’ll get to see them in the next life. I’m sure they’ll be waiting with a crappy cathode TV and a DVR filled with reruns of all of your favorite shows! Beautiful. My condolences for your loss. Like the ocean tides, grieving will always be there, sometimes small, sometimes big. The only thing we can do is do our best to keep our head high until it is our time to become one with the sea. Until then, we must share the love that was bestowed upon us by the ones who are no longer here. You have done so with this song and everything you create. I never heard of you before this song, but I'm glad to have found you. I will be watching from now on.

When you remember the good time you had with your loved ones or friends, and watching a film or tv series with them, its a bitter and sweet moment you've had with them.
