Great video bro, I too have a 2002 Silver M5. Mine has 92k on it. I’m amazed every time I drive this car. It feels so solid, it pulls nice and strong and the interior still looks very sophisticated. Your car is in pretty awesome shape considering it’s 18yrs old. Are you on the M5 board?

I have the same problem with the paint on all 4 of my door handles too! Glad to know that I can easily remove them and them painted. Thanks for posting!

Nice M. For the noise @ 0:31 and 8:41 you need a driveshaft and possibly guibo. That's the reason for the clunk and high pitched noise especially at low speed. Have the same noise on mine, and will be replacing that drive shaft soon.

Good catch on 0:31, I completely forgot to include the clunk noise in the list, but I was aware of it. Thanks for the suggestion on the drive shaft. Found this video with the exact same noise from a bad center support bearing. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNaCdZp8u667kqM.html

i have the same interior noise issue. its just old plastic and shit

The interior noise ended up being the drive shaft center support bearing. I have a video on that kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btVhZLeGs5m6Y5s.html

Dude the overhit its every E39 problem , even the 520i wth M52B20 or B28 we all have prb with the overht , try to dont stop too much in the trafic , by the way ur car still looks good 👌❤️

The rear quarter windows shades are very expensive about US #350,- ridiculous!

Ridiculous indeed! Im looking for the plastic covers at least just to eliminate the rattle noise from the ones currently installed that have some cracks.

The rear noise are the fold down rear seats. They have a metal hook that latches the seats and often when driving they move causing odd random sounds. Easy fix is to tie hockey (electrical )tape on that hook and then latch the seats back. Now here is no metal to metal contact.

Interesting, I will definitely check on that. Thanks for the suggestion. Although I have a feeling the noise is coming from the drive shaft as other have suggested. It appears you can hear the noise from the outside as well.

@@NoGaragE30 If its the driveshaft then its the rear U joint rubber. It tends to crack over time especially if its original. Hoist her up and have a look at the rear joint if it shows signs of age then replace it right away. Or one day you will be driving and the car wont move forward if that rubber joint gives. If its not that then see if its the tail pipe hanger or mufflers cracked etc. I am sure its nothing major. Cheers

I got a 2000 M5 with 21,000 . I barely use it except for weekend, or special occasion . and my rear diff is leaking too. let us know how hard it is to fix it, I have a feeling its pretty major work, to get at it. Sucks!.....

I think its the drive shaft.. When it sounds like broken glass, probably it will be. Lokk at vehicle virgins video about this (2yr update on costs e39).
