The counslors had some hilarious lines when referring to how different and unacceptable the Addams and other camp outcasts were, such as when the counslor says to everyone about how they just can't become like everyone else, and then yells "Don't you just hate that!!?" Normal kids: "Yes!!" Counselor: "Isn't that just sad!!?" Kids: "Yes!!" Counselor: "Don't you wish they would just die!!?" Kids: "Yes!!" I wish that Jeremy played that bit in this video, but I didn't want him picking that one apart, that one is perfect the way it is.
@NekoHibaCosplay

18:49 this was in fact not a sin but an awesome subtext message written into the movie: Both Morticia and Gomez, while heavily disliking the idea of Pubert being "normal" they still tried to love him the way they are, without questioning nor trying to force them back to be the one they were before, and that's why Morticia is reading The cat in the hat instead of The Pit and the Pendulum and redecorated the room accordingly. Ok, let's say that Gomez gone throught a quest to revert the situation back, but still he didn't took any action against his child, he tried to force his brother LOL. That's why the Addams fucking rocks, they are the strangest, violent and lowkey murderous family you can imagine, but still they let their children express themselves and get along with their choices even if they disapprove it and is against their beliefs, they give them unconditional love anyway.

I always think the wsaddest thing about this movie is the aside from her love of pastels (which she shares with Morticia's sister Ophelia) she's a murderous serial killer who loves money and who doesn't seem shocked or even bothered by most of the Addams folibles. If instead of marrying Fester she'd just come in as the nanny and stayed as a part of the family no one in the Addams family would have blinked. I could see her confessing to Morticia and Grandmama. "I killed my last three husbands. They were rich but they just didn't love me, worship me, cater to my every whim in the way I deserve." and the women of the Addams just being like "Never settle darling." Comparing murder techniques. Grandmama being like "An axe. That takes me back. Poisons were popular in my day but I was always one to cut my own path." Morticia just smiles and feeds a meaty femur to her plants. The FBI does show up and they're just like "No this is our cousin, Deborah Addams." Eventually Debbie introduced to an Addams who she is actually attracted to who shrugs off murder attempts like a game and absolutely loves/adores/worships Debbie. They meet at Dementia and Fester's wedding.

Yeah, I mean his point about the "privilege" thing is rather true, but I think it was just phrased badly. It was more about the kids fitting a mold. Which is why the Addamses weren't the only kids who were ostracized at the camp. And that's the thing the Sins video missed... the Addams Family isn't just bad=good, good=bad. They're just... weird. 3:39 Actually this a callback to the original newspaper strip by Charles Addams. He originally wanted to call Pugsley Pubert, but it was the 1940s and you weren't allowed to say anything that implied puberty or sex in any form of media, so when they made this film they named the baby Pubert in memory of Addams. I have to admit that I always felt this story could've gone down a MUCH funnier road if the Addams found out Debbie was a serial killer from the word go. They're super into that, you could've had Debbie slowly losing her mind because the other Addams (maybe even Fester himself) support and encourage her murder boner instead of, y'know, acting like any other family she's had to deal with.
