@@muffin1168 Yeah, same. In fact, a good handful of characters that were in the game that had made some appearance in the first movie were either cast aside as minor characters or just completely missing altogether in favor of the newer characters.

Fun Fact: This movie had a tough production. The rigs and lava/ice effects were challenging while most of Sony’s best animators were busy on Spider-Verse, and on top of it all, Sony execs moved the movie up by a couple months.

I actually worked on this. At the same time, one of my friends was working on Sonic. We had a bet which one of us was on the worse movie. The higher Rotten Tomatoes score buys the lower one dinner. Can't believe I lost.

@@nonamepasserbya6658 Funnily enough, what ended up in the movie actually WAS the first design, internally. Then the director, Sega, and Paramount spent months arguing over the design and turned it into the Frankenstein's monster of all their bad ideas that we all saw in the first trailer.

I always thought Debbie turning out to be Zeta and Ethan's daughter was contrived; there was no indication throughout the movie that Debbie and Zeta are related and then suddenly they claim they're related in the last half hour? It's weird.

You summed up my reaction to the ending perfectly. Seriously, Mighty Eagle wronged her, but everyone else did nothing... And even though the villain "I don't care to know her name" literally tried to MURDER LITERALLY EVERYONE VIA MOLTEN LITERAL LAVA!!! and she was just forgiven over, nothing...😑 The good ending should be the third island gets completely wiped out by lava and all the evil birds did painfully!😡

In the end of the movie, Zeta and her eagles redeemed themselves and give up their dream by building the Islands into her own resorts. The same thing Spirit Bomb’ 07 says the good ending should be the third island gets completely wiped out by lava and the evil birds should have died at the end of the movie.

So, they talked about how the inflated bird floated to Saturn and popped on that satellite, but my question is, Why was there a satellite, the birds sure as hell didn't build it, the pigs might have, or the Eagles, but I doubt it, so do humans exist on this earth, if they do, how have they missed the three islands that were practically at war for a while

It drives me insane how many people dismiss these movies because of their association with a mobile game. They’re REALLY not that bad. They’re obviously not supposed to be deep, they’re just supposed to be funny, and I think they succeed at that. The second movie in particular has some of the BEST slapstick cartoon violence I’ve seen in cgi. Based on visuals and writing alone, you can tell that these movies are not half-assed. You can tell that there was someone who cared to make a good kids movie that both kids and adults could enjoy together. I see a lot of people saying these are the worst movies ever made, and I’m willing to take the leap to say that that is factually untrue. I expected to hate them. I went in already hating it, but by the time it was over my mind had been changed. I enjoyed them more than the entire Ice Age saga (which isn’t saying a lot I guess), and in my opinion, they’re way more original and funny when compared to the Sonic movie.
