In order to mark the release of the new live-action Tarzan movie, which somehow stars Samuel L. Jackson, we went looking for sins in Disney's animated version. Guess what? Found plenty.
Next week: Western sins and animated sins... both mostly recent.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

@@ARMEDPATRIOT757 Nah buddy. You're still the one with the woosh. Wanna know why? You missed the joke. The joke is that anything slightly offensive would be called "racist" even if it isn't. That's the running joke. For example, if in a movie they are sinning, a character says to a woman "You can't do it because you're a girl." Cinemasins would say "that's racist" and issue a sin, despite the fact that what the character said was sexist not racist. That's the joke. So when I commented "that's racist" I was referencing Cinemasins. I even add in a *ding* to complete the reference. Yes, the first comment I answered to was stereotypical not racist, but just like Cinemasins, I'm replying "that's racist." to it if its offensive, even if its not racist. Whether you find this running joke funny or not is all on you, I'm just explaining that YOU misunderstood the joke. Also, Lemme know if you're pretending not to understand so that you can woosh me. Because I doubt you missed the entire point of my previous comment so hard.

I know this sin video is relatively ancient with how fast the internet moves but... Did it literally not occur to Jeremy and the Sins crew that the netting in the treehouse was almost certainly a safety precaution, not because Tarzan's Parents were omniscient but because they were sensible? Tarzan's going to be a toddler someday and most of their house is cobbled together from flotsam and jetsam. Not unreasonable to think that maybe a floorboard comes loose someday or breaks under their weight or Tarzan gets away from them for a moment while he's learning to walk and slips off the edge. Having the second layer of safety is just... sensible. Especially in this case because we see that extra protection pay off.

You bet your sweet bottom dollar women in this era would wear their Belle dress in the woods. It surprises me more how much less she wears the rest of the time, actually. It's a documented fact that plenty of people brought some unusual things with them on the Californian and Alaskan gold rushes, including bicycles... which they promptly abandoned the moment they learned what a mountain is. So it's entirely possible that a pair of British academics would bring such things along on an expedition. Never underestimate a person's potential for a lack of common sense.

@@raymondsantana1 How is that racist? It makes perfect sense. They would probably be black, and they probably would be more or less hostile towards threatening and/or tasty animals, including gorillas. Humans are also naturally wary of those who are different from them, since we developed as tribal creatures. Hence Tarzan being distrusting of this black tribe and being kind of an asshole to them makes a lot of sense, far more so when you consider they killed his mom. I feel like you are one of those people who sees blacks being treated unfairly and begins calling it racism, regardless of whether that makes any sense whatsoever in such context.

8:07 her falling down could actually be smart writing on disneys part b/c of this: Here’s what you should do the moment you’ve encountered a gorilla: Slowly crouch down and make yourself small. Avert your gaze from any nearby gorilla and look away. Attempt to look disinterested. Gradually create distance between you and the gorillas without making any sudden moves. Those simple behaviors tell a gorilla that you’re not a threat, and that you have no interest in challenging it. If it does charge you, and it’s not a bluff (most are), turn away from it and lower yourself all the way to the ground. Go limp if it decides to examine you. Eventually it will get bored of you and move on. No matter what, never: Run from the gorilla. Show your teeth. Raise your arms and try to make yourself look bigger. Scream and shout. Thump your chest in return-not even as a joke. Those actions may provoke the gorilla to defend its territory and you’ll probably get seriously hurt. Fortunately, gorilla attacks are very rare (even in zoos and sanctuaries) and most attacks are provoked or defensive in nature.

In the book it talks about how he found the cabin (which was on the beach & not up in a tree...) when he was really young- under 10. The books in the cabin showed bunches of pictures of (European) people, and none had beards. So Tarzan slowly figures out how to use a knife that he also found in the cabin to shave. So the movie actually got this part right. No idea about the lack of chest hair, though.

Only because predators don’t relentlessly attack a prey that’s obviously going to be a problem. This isn’t WWE, predators have to hunt and provide for themselves. In a fight to the death, the lion takes it, but the risk of getting injured and starving or becoming a handicap to the pride is too high, doesn’t matter if they bring that one warthog for that one meal but gets an injury that takes weeks or months to heal.

There definitely should have been a sin removed for the way the animators drew/animated Tarzan's phalanges and appendages to shape and move like an ape's. The way he would have moved around on his hands and feet for all those years would have definitely reconstructed the way his bones and tendons were supposed to grow. The way they his fingers and knuckles bend, even when he's not walking on them (picking things up, etc) is kept so consistent throughout the movie. Well done.

Leopards typically live between 12-17 years, though the oldest one on record lived to be just over 24. At the absolute youngest, the leopard that killed Tarzan's parents was just barley under 2 years old. If the leopard was old af it would explain why Tarzan could beat it. OR, get this, it could maybe be a diffrent leopard.

African leopards surprisingly can and do prey on gorillas. While they usually go for the females and juveniles for obvious reasons, leopards hunting silverbacks is not unheard of. Large male leopards can get to be 220 lbs and even though that’s only a bit more than half of a large silverbacks weight, big cats are fucking INSANE. Though I’d have to call bullshit on the scene where sabor easily fucks up Kerchak, she didn’t even bite him.

No, leopard would win unless ambushed. Gorilla's are stronger but leopards are better equipped. You can be the strongest person in the world but you're not gonna fair too well against a creature that's way faster with razor sharp teeth and claws and hunts for a living.
@ambassadorbruh1200
@ambassadorbruh1200 3 жыл бұрын
@@GyeongmiBaeb I mean a gorilla is certainly capable of fighting a leopard off, especially if they arm themselves with a branch or something but they still are the leopard’s prey and there’s PLENTY of reports of leopards killing gorillas both in the wild and in captivity. Plus leopards have been killed by humans before and it a human can do it, a gorilla certainty can. But I should say that the leopards that do prey on gorillas live in the African Congo basin and because they are the apex predator of that region, these leopards get larger and more powerful than anywhere else in the world and that’s what helps them prey on gorillas too. A normal Indian leopard would have a ROUGH time trying to dispatch a gorilla.
