Since Pixar's cashing in with Cars 3 any day now, we went back to Cars 2... maybe the most-disliked Pixar movie in existence... for a good reason. It's awful. And we made an entire video about all its sins, as we are wont to do.

8:57 I don’t really think it’s fair to blame Lightning for being mad at Mater here. You gotta keep in mind that Lightning doesn’t know what’s going on outside of the race just yet. All he knows is that Mater left his post and gave him bad information, even if it was on accident. I’m not saying that this is entirely Mater’s fault either because it obviously isn’t, but the whole thing coulda been avoided if he had done a better job of explaining what happened

Cars 2 fixed my parents marriage I’m actually not kidding. They were totally about to get a divorce and I really didn’t want that to happen so I begged them to take me to see Cars 2 just because that was out at the time. They sat apart from each other (which was not normal) with my little sister and I in between them. They both looked like they were going through a divorce when the movie started (you know, the glossy eyed, done with life sort of look) but by the end we were all joking and laughing as a family again for the first time in weeks! I don’t know, maybe it was just that we wanted to laugh again or maybe it was just something about Larry the cable guy Anyway, when we left the theater my Dad held my Mom’s hand the whole way to the car and they were both smiling again and my sister I were running around pretending we were Lightning McQueen and Mater and that’s when I knew then that everything was going to be alright

About the whole “EMPs don’t affect oil” thing, the original intent was for the camera to emit radiation, but considering that at the time of release the Fukushima nuclear incident would have happened mere months before the movie’s planned release, they changed it to an EMP out of respect for the people who suffered because of it.

In the actual movie (at least in the US version), it’s revealed near the end that Axelrod engineered Alinol to explode from exposure to the EMP pulse, and that it was regular gasoline otherwise, but the fact that they still gave logic for the rework of how the alinol would explode is some level of dedication

I agree, people have different tastes which I can understand the criticisms behind that. But at certain point, people sometimes (depending on the movie) should enjoy the movie for what is without being so in depth all of the time in every movie. What matters most is if it's enjoyable, cool, entertaining to watch. That's what some people mis-understand.

Ok, these movies have a lot of nostalgia for me, and even though they bugged me like crazy when I was a kid because of how often my brother watched them, I still have a certain amount of loyalty to them. However, I did put together this very eloquent explanation of the entire series: Lightning McQueen learns to not be a jerk in three separate situations. That is all. Literally sums up the series.

I love this movie. It was a childhood movie for me, and it's my favorite one. Movies can have mistakes guys, but i found this one the most interesting because it doesn't always focus on McQueen (even though he's my favorite character) But on matar too. I liked the song a lot, lightening MacQueen's design blew me away as a kid, and i loved the first race. As a kid it kinda made me feel like i was in it too. (I know that's weird, but whatever.) I love this movie and i always will. I respect your opinions though.

Yeah, Cars was my childhood. My mum told me that for when we went to watch Cars 2 I brought all of my Lightning McQueen merchandise and wore my Cars dressing gown as it was my favourite thing in the world at the time. I always thought Cars 2 was awesome, but I have to sadly agree that Cars 3 was kinda weak. On the off chance they make a Cars 4, what would it be about? Would it be the return of the spies, because they just flew off at the end of Cars 2 and were never seen again in Cars 3? But, at the end of the day, I think I have to say that Cars 2 is my favourite of the three that exist. EDIT: Oh! Another thing that I enjoyed was the Mater's Tall Tales mini-movie spinoffs that they did, I loved those and still have a couple of them on DVD to this day! EDIT 2: Holy s**t! Cars 3 came out in 2017!??! I feel so old....

CinemaSins probably overlooked a lot of sins he could've mentioned in this bad movie, because Cars 2 definitely wasn't as good as the first one. Cars 2 is actually the only time I can say Pixar got bad reviews, as most of their other movies and sequels (toy story 2/3, finding dory) were critically acclaimed. Hopefully they redeem the cars series with Cars 3 this Friday.

I actually like how there are two different sides of the story being the world grand prix and the behind the scenes with the Allinol and the spies. albeit there are many flaws but still one of my favourite childhood movies

This movie couldn't happen unless nations were recognised even in the car world because they race in different countries and it's a big part of the plot. Mechanic here, 1:43 4 Tires come out of the back of Fin (A Volkswagen Karman Ghia). That would be impossible because the engine of a VW Ghia is in the back. IF a tire were to come out of Fin, it would come from the front, but the front can only hold 1 tire.
