That's the main thing I noticed from this. The master set all five of them up to basically destroy each other. And they fell for it hook line and sinker. Accuse everyone of being the traitor, accuse the leader of not being capable anymore, steal the stronger members from other unions, spy on each other, hold a crucial piece of information from each other. And all in all not even realize for one second how this could possibly make everything worse

So basically, the first great Keyblade War was caused by five people jumping to conclusions....Yep! We're gonna be just fine in KH3. XD

X Back Cover gets a sin for not actually showing the Keyblade War. And it raised more questions than it answered. How could you leave out the Master of Masters and Luxu whispering about what was in the box when no one else was around? That is a sin!

What makes this more frustrating is how none of them thought or Luxu..They obviously know he is one of the Masters Apprentices. They had all these accusations but didn't stop to think "Hey, Luxu isn't here. He could be the traitor"

All the Disney worlds and characters from Sora's time are actually projections from the Book of Prophecies. Those characters weren't ACTUALLY there during the events of X.

I think the reason why they do not go against their master and keep trusting him is to illustrate how blind they are and how they follow him like he is some kind of god. They obey him in an unhealthy way and do not realize that maybe he is not so nice as they think but it is clear, that they would die for him and how blind that makes them.

Master of Masters is really Tetsuya Nomura confirmed! *Cue image of Trollmura wearing a black coat* The reason for his sudden disappearance is simply him returning to the real world. He can create any Keyblade he wants as well as make Dream Eaters outside the Realm of Sleep simply because he's the director, so the rules don't apply to him. He enjoys trolling his own characters almost as much as the fanbase, and the black box contains his plans for Kingdom Hearts 3, as well as his other ideas for future games and fanfiction he wrote while he was bored. It all makes sense now!

This whole saga is interesting from the foretellers perspective, but it really shows how kept in the dark the Keyblade Wielders were about everything. And literally they could've talked about the issues they faced for more five minutes and there wouldn't be a misunderstanding between them.

Its kinda funny how the Master intentionally pinned the foretellers against each other though the book of prophecies. which by the way I just realized that the key blade war was the way the master of masters literally told them that if they followed the book a war would happen between them. He even gave them teachings that would be null and void by his saying "may your hearts be your guiding key". That's some batman level of confusion...

Goofy knew people said "may your heart be your guiding key" because he was there. As for why Donald didn't remember, is it all that surprising that _either_ of them forgot? Goofy probably just barely remembered it himself.

Charriii getting mad at kingdom Hearts: Movie edition.

I always get triggered by this, but they seem to forget some pretty basic, like not-even-math, math. So there's 100% light, and each union is expected to maintain and collect 20% each. Suddenly one collects more than 20% and the others think that by collecting more as well that they will "Maintain the balance" when it ends up with one side having more light than the other.

I had always thought that Master of Masters was the real traitor, and every move he made was to ensure that the Keyblade Wars would happen. It's almost like Palpatine orchestrating the Clone Wars.

You know while i did think that this movie was WAY too short, i did quite enjoy it. And thats all because of the MoM.

6:30 This is something that got messed with in the localization, sadly. The bangles in question are referring to the 'guilt' system, which allows you to join your attack items together to give them power boosts. It's not quite as simple as that, but properly guilting your medals was (and still is!) pretty vital to doing most late-game content. They never really address the fact that using that darkness is pretty integral to the game's combat.

I can imagine Gula observing the others, seeing none of them are the traitors, but then instead of going "well I guess there is no traitor then. The MoM was full of crap." Instead he'd probably just be like "Oh crap. Am, am I the traitor?"

Considering that Luxu became Braig/Xigbar, and the MoM is extremely unserious, I’d laugh so much if the MoM eventually becomes Lea/Axel down the line….just his personality and mannerisms are so similar

Sin 03: In the game you go inside the book of prophecies, to future events, thats where you grind and its the ''filler'' part of the story. Actual fun note:Gaston is in it,in the BATB world

Was hoping you'd talk about the end with Luxu because to me that's the most significant part of it all. Well mainly because I had no idea what was going on most of the time

It is not until watching this again through this video that I realised the GIANT problem I'm amazed I didnt see at first. Literally every person who picked their union was hoping that at the end of the month their union would be number 1 and that they would rush through as many missions as they could hoping that little extra bit would push their union to the top.... and yet it wasnt meant to be a competition? In game theres the comment of why is every member aiming to get more lux then others when we are all doing the same thing? Considering that I think the sin of Ava telling that speech to the other unions doesnt count. Aside from Skuld, Ephemera and the character you play every other keyblade wielder is as dumb as the foretellers believing their leader above all else.

This is just rush poorly written filler to explain all of the backstory on the keyblade war but it pretty much boils down to "wait, who betrayed us? No one knows? FIGHT!

Kairi's grandmother refers to it in the 1st KH game in a flash back in the hollow bastion library. That ones not a sin.

Hi, Charriii, As one of the few people who played Union χ Dark Road, I can answer that question you had about Donald and Goofy showing up. Yes, it's true the game takes place before the Keyblade War, and yes, Donald and Goofy do appear, but only in a non-canon side mode. Think of it like the side modes in Kirby Mass Attack. Yes, they include refrences to the anime, but the modes are non-canon, so doesn't count.

Chariii, this series of sins is my favorite and oh my god too hilarious man. Honestly if the developers pay attention to the great flaws that you point out about the story you would be a reason games became an even grander thing to enjoy. Awesome work though and look forward to more from you

Yeah, X Back cover should've been its own game done in a BIOWARE style. I don't play MOBA's either, but I'd definitely watch it if it had more. I think X should've been the game after Birth by Sleep, because it does make sense to see things back in the past before the Keyblade War broke out and destroyed everything, and I think its story alongside Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of the most interesting and fascinating outside of the Kingdom Hearts universe.

Don’t worry, at least ONE of them (Ava) eventually starts catching on to the Master of Masters’s bullshit and decides to bend his rules to act against him later on in the story. So at least they’re becoming smarter as the story goes on. Bless Ava, she’s probably the most likeable of all of them...

So the Master is so obviously a villain he might as well be called Xehanort, but here is the interesting thing about X Back Cover: There really was a traitor the whole time. The traitor can actually be identified by doing exactly what Gula was supposed to, look at each of the Master's students and see who is no longer following his teachings or fulfilling their role. The roles: Ira was to lead the Foretellers. Invi was to keep an eye of the Foretellers and be the mediator in any disputes between them. Aced was to be Ira's right-hand man and take over as leader if Ira was doing a bad job. Gula was to find the traitor. Ava was to gather Keyblade wielders and keep the light alive once the Keyblade War began. Luxu was to pass down the Master's Keyblade so the Master could see the future. Out of the six, who is the one person to not say some variation of "May your hearts be your guiding key" and stops focusing on their role and instead on doing something completely different. Ira. He never says "May my heart be my guiding key" or any such variation of it, and rather than lead the Foretellers, he instead reveals that one of them is a traitor and begins searching for the Lost Page of the Book of Prophecies, even as the other four spiral out of control. Ira was the traitor all along. What better way to remove suspicion of being a traitor than to reveal the existence of a traitor. He knew about the Lost Page because he was committing actions that weren't in his book and he was the one who "found" the Dark Chirithy. Prove me wrong.

Ya'know, being here after the ending of KH UX is like: "yeah, that's what his plan was about lol"

The black coat is literally just "We want to keep their identity a secret" In lore, it's a special fabric designed to allow one to traverse the Corridors of Darkness without risking corruption. Organization XIII made them famous as "evil" signifiers, but in lore anyone can use them without being evil. Hell, Mickey uses one!

Something that's always bugged me about Kingdom Hearts is the fact that (as far as I can tell) they never actually define what they mean by "worlds." Are the worlds in this series planets in a single universe, or are they parallel universes that the cast can travel between? Because if it's the former, then the whole "you can't let people know there are other worlds" thing they had in earlier games makes no sense when "there are other planets" is common knowledge in some worlds, even ones where space travel isn't even all that relevant (one world is even just a spaceship), and if it's the latter, then "all the worlds being one" makes no sense, since some of the specifics of certain worlds would be contradictory to each other (ex. the only sapient beings on Earth in Zootopia's universe are (as far as we know at least) mammals, but in the Mickeyverse, there are sentient birds, and in the Cars universe, not only are the human equivalents vehicles, but the animal equivalents are too), and that isn't even getting into the whole "worlds within worlds" thing (for instance, the premise of Tron is that a guy goes into a world inside a computer, so, are the physical and digital Tron worlds a single world in Kingdom Hearts terms, or are they two separate worlds?). You know that theory that says Super Smash Bros. games are just a kid playing with toys? I think Kingdom Hearts is just Nomura, perpetually drunk off his ass (like he was when he originally came up with this series) playing with toys in front of a low-res camera and insisting that it's this big, brilliant epic that makes perfect sense because he made big, famous games like FFVII. It's like that SNL sketch where Picasso sneezes into a tissue and says it's on par with his other art because "[he's] Picasso!" I think the story of Kingdom Hearts would be a lot better if it was more self-aware and fully acknowledged how goofy (pun totally intended) the premise is, essentially saying "yeah, this is a really silly idea. Let's have fun with it!" Maybe this could be tone KH4 goes with, especially given that Disney owns both Marvel and Fox now and thus owns Deadpool, who's perfect for that kind of deconstructive, self-aware comedy stuff.

This book of prophecy isn't a book of how the future will fall apart. This is a prophecy book about what will happen. The best way they could have handled the situation when the master of masters vanished was toss the books in a fire and not rely so much on the words of the master.

I'm using your videos to learn the lore of the series because I don't have the time or money to buy and play through every KH game. Have to say, you're doing a great job.

Necro post To be fair, I feel like there are a few reasons this wasn't it's own game, money and time being the biggest. However, I believe the most important reason this wasn't it's own game is due to the fact that in making it it's own game it would have called into question some of the more unnoticed plot holes. Why are the members of the Unions just blindly going along with this? what are their opinions and thoughts after being told that there will be a civil war? Who exactly would we play as and how would that character tie into the larger story in a meaningful and impactful way? I have more but I don't have the time, the point I'm getting at is that while the story being told here is too important to be on just a mobile game, proved by the point that they went out of their way to make sure you could watch the most important parts of the story, making it a full on game would bring to surface MORE plot holes. A full game would also cause players to ask MORE QUESTIONS than we were asking at the time and we all know how well answering questions goes in KH...

I always had it in my mind that the M.O.M wanted the war to happen, even taking steps to ensure it. I don't think he was being stupid with his plan, I think he wanted them to fight. He seems like he did.
