Superman III is just not good. I'm sorry. The first two are great. This one is just not great. I'm sorry if you are only just now finding out. Oh, and it has sins, too.
Next week: Comedy aughts sins and sci-fi aughts sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

Fun Fact: Margot Kidder initially refused to be in the movie, due to the change in directors. The producers were finally able to convince her to be in that small portion for a very large paycheck.

@That80sGuy1972
@That80sGuy1972 3 жыл бұрын
So did I, especially since I remembered the guy said he stole the idea from Superman III and admitted that he probably f^cked up a decimal place. In that, he pretty much also punched a hole in the calculation theory that relocating the part-cents would yield any kind of significant amount of money. So, half the people would get the exact amount. And, half of the others would get half-cents that is rounded down. That's an average of a quarter-cent, assuming the simplest factors. So, for every 4 paychecks, you get a cent. 1% of a dollar, as in 1/100 of a dollar... for every 4 paychecks. If you run that program and somehow made accounting miss it as your bonus, you have an additional cent on your paycheck per 400 employees. Only a really, really, really broke person would consider that mad-cash, and a guy who had the skill to do that kind of program would, even in the 80s, not waste his time on such a low cash return. I mean, you get a tiny bit of cash boost, like being a waiter who gets a yearly regular who tips a little, but with the full weight of fraud (back then) on top of cyber-crime (now) charges... not at all worth it. You follow? It's not about the amount of the paycheck, it never was, it was always about how the pay was calculated with each check, scooping up the fractions that are rounded down. So, only the number of paychecks is the issue. Let's say that program is run on an LLC that is rather large, 40,000 employees. Yes, I am using a large LLC on purpose as the starting point. That's 40,000 paychecks on a regular basis. That's 10,000 times per pay the guy with the program installed gets a cent bonus on his paycheck. That means, he gets an additional $100 bonus per paycheck. To a broke guy like me, that's a fortune, a *HUGE* raise. However, if I had those hacking skills and access, do you think I would fleece my tiny company for that and not go big and go fast then vanish? NO! If I am sitting on that kind of powder keg of legal ramifications, I would do my best to go big, cash out, and vanish without a trace as soon as possible. Let's say I did that on a corporation, one with 4,000,000 employees. You know, as a mid-level tech guy. That means I get a quarter of a cent per 4 paychecks, so a dollar per 400 employees per payday. That would be a bonus of 40,000 per payday. Nice, right? *NO*! That would sound an alarm, cause the corporation to shut down the flagged building, and bring their accountants into full alert mode. Also, they would be in full cooperation with the police because they called them. They would have noticed the second the first instance happened because of their accounting department and probably stopped payment on the check in the first place... if the check even got printed nonetheless cut and given. You cannot hack a corporation in a fiscal way directly unless you are rerouting funds that they almost instantly know were cyber-stolen. There is no sneaky way to do it without inside people.

Superman & Lois didn't make it awesome; the show just copied it. The show isn't even that good. It's uninspired mediocrity. @@DanBrizuela I did like it, but I can objectively state that it didn't take a scene from Superman III and make it awesome, which was your statement. In this case, I can't help but be amused at the thought that the programmer who made that Evil Overlord map in-universe was such a big Pac-Man fan that he or she duplicated the sound as an easter egg, knowing with confidence that the company big-wigs would never have a clue as they've never stepped foot in an Arcade in their life.
