Well, sh*t. Disney went and finally made the most unnecessary remake ever with Beauty & The Beast. Shot-for-shot remake with a few crappy new songs tossed in. Thanks, but no thanks.
Next week: 2 sci-fi sins vids. One old-er, one new-ish.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I appreciate the responses...I admittedly did not put as much thought into that part of the movie. The movie itself added a lot more details that took a lot of thought, and I was confused by the way they worded it. I mean, it was a very haphazard explanation of how she knew, only through one song lyric and Maurice telling her stories about it that we never saw or explained in-movie.

For sin #63 the enchantress changed them into what they saw of each other. The staff saw him as a beast/monster so that's what she turned him into. As for the staff, the beast merely saw them as things. For example, cogsworth was turned into a clock. In the beginning of the movie you can se him holding a pocket watch saying, "master its *time.* " so I hope that answer people's questions 😁

Scattered Thoughts my issue with La La Land. It’s about starving, yet talented artist that haven’t met their chance, and yet they hired actors that literally can’t perform the art that they’re supposed to be portraying. Love Emma Stone, but so many actresses can actually sing and act and are waiting for their breakout moment, but the movie picked already known names.

Another sin: We see in the beginning of the movie the librarian is Belle's only real friend in town. In the scene where Gaston locks up Maurice and Belle and rallies the town to kill the beast, the librarian is shown to not agree. But the question is, what happens to him? We don't see him at all at the castle, implying that he stayed in town. But if he stayed in town, why was he not at least attempting to help Belle escape the asylum wagon? Question's bothered me for months.

Actually I agree with Alexej; based solely on the time period the film takes place in there shouldn't be any black people at all. It's something that bugs me when films just put black people in roles where, to be historically accurate, they shouldn't be. Same thing for Frozen; people keep bitching about them all being white, because it's set in Norway in what, the early 1900s? No black people there then, either. Honestly.

I actually liked that they put that line in. If I recall correctly, in the original animated version, one of the creators was debating whether or not to put that line in because they actually liked the way the Beast looked before he was turned back into a human, but I think they decided not to. I'm glad they used it here as a reference to that, although again, that's if I'm recalling correctly.

Belle seeming to be out of focus and smiling for no apparent reason during the Be Our Guest scene is because in reality Emma Watson was filmed separately from other actors just sitting in a chair in a room in which she was the only cast member present. Two more sins: 1) This is set in France, right? So why is the book in the scene where Belle teaches the girl to read in ENGLISH? 2) Did anyone noticed that when the horse runs from the castle to Belle's village it is completely dirty? But funny enough in the next scene when they head to the castle it is perfectly clean. Seems like Belle was like "Omg! @shwahgamer
@shwahgamer 4 жыл бұрын
The thing that makes Emma's auto tune a bigger offense is that Paige O'Hara, the original voice actor for Belle, was her voice coach! And they still felt it was necessary to auto tune her after she had lessons from the most qualified professional they had. It's not like Meryl Streep in the first Mama Mia where they cast her regardless of the fact that she couldn't sing and let her sing terribly anyway. (Along with most of the rest of that cast in general.) And Streep only got voice lessons AFTER that role to be in other musicals. This is someone who tried to learn first, and they scrapped all that learning and made it meaningless.

There’s a theory about beauty and the beast You know how the candle said they’d been there for 10 years right well the story says he’s 21. So the prince was 11 when when he was cursed. ELEVEN. And people might say maybe he didn’t age but they said he was doomed to GROW UP as a beast. I know the live action shows him as a grown up but I think that’s the wrong interpretation of the original. Also she cursed the REST OF THE CASTLE TO DIE OR LIVE FOREVER AS NON MOVING UTENSILS JUST FOR THE PRINCE’S ACTIONS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WITCH

The devil came to steal kill and destroy. Jesus came to give you life and that more abundantly. Long ago, a lamb 🐑 without spot and blemish would be sacrificed on an altar daily to remove sins🐑. God is Holy and to commune with God, you must be holy🙇. God made mankind to have FELLOWSHIP. He loved us💕. The devil tempted Adam and Eve to sin, and when I thought about it, I would have sinned as well because it's human nature😳. The devil is still tempting people into sin today! A curse was placed on mankind because of sin. God knew this would happen so before the foundations of the world He chose to come as man and redeem man🙆. He created hell for Satan and his demons. God didn't create man mindless but He gives each of a choice to choose good or evil, life or death. That choice is in your hands today, even as it was with Adam and Eve. Jesus is the Lamb without spot and blemish, God the Father's only begotton Son, who died to take away our sins. He gives us a chance to strive to be perfect, through love with the help of His Spirit. We become SPIRITUALLY ALIVE when we believe in God's Son, as opposed to being spiritually dead after the fall of Adam. God is pleased with faith. If you believe, repent and be baptized and you will receive 🎁the gift of His Holy Spirit. God's Spirit is full of Love and Mercy. He's gentle and compassionate. He is God! He is also dangerous to the devil. He will comfort you, help you, teach you and guide you. He will give you power to do work in His Name to advance His Kingdom, seeking and saving the lost. Choose Jesus. Taste and see that God is good💖.

+5 sins for the terrible use of Autotune (since it's used multiple times. And is horrible and distracting). Also, +1 for ruining Belle's iconic yellow dress! I know Emma was being a modern feminist or whatever and refused to wear an actual corset, but they could have at least made a dress that looked like it had a corseted bodice or, for that matter, ANY styling whatsoever consistent with the time period! That was an entirely modern-day dress in a movie set in the 1700's. And even if you go with the original Disney version's setting of the 1800's, it's still a dress 200+ years out of place.

The biggest sin for me was during the Be our Guest scene with Belle. She literally just sits there and smiles while all that magical shit goes on around her. In the animated movie Belle was dancing and participating. Emma just sits still. That bothered the shit out of me!
@AiNoMiko
@AiNoMiko 6 жыл бұрын
That bugged me too, but I don't blame Emma for it. That was a director's issue. I was watching some of the bonus features that came with the blu ray and one of them was the making of the "Be Our Guest" scene; Emma tried to put a little bit more life into her performance there and was constantly asking, "is that too much?" Well apparently it was. Stupid director.

It makes more sense for Belle to be miserable than dancing around and happy. She's being held captive by the Beast, she can't leave the castle, she's never going to see her father again, and just prior to that scene, he'd shouted at her that if she didn't eat with him, she wouldn't eat at all. *The aesthetics of this movie were **_beautiful_**.* But the producers/directors spent to much time on background characters then Belle and the Beast, making their love gradually grow. They missed the entire point of the movie, the story. And that's why I really hate it. Again beautiful, but no point.

Even if they did it couldn't convince me, because Dan Stevens gave a scarily accurate performance in The Guest, whereas Emma Watson delivered one in Regression, so I couldn't shake the thought of two people dancing, who played convincing and lethal sociopaths. Stevens is such a badass, during his performance in Legion, he hasn't simply opted for a convincing American accent, but also changed his voice, so when his actual voice came up near the end, he made me totally forget that he's a Brit with a much deeper voice.

I thought that added some depth to the story, tbh. It's all the more crueler that the prince had to grow up as a Beast and adds to his identity-complex when Bell first sees him, and it explains why the castle was in such disarray when Bell first arrives. (since years have passed)

To tell the truth I never saw him as a young kid. In the 1991 version it's said the "rose would bloom until his 21st year." I took that to mean he was 21 when it started wilting, and it had been wilting slowly. He could have been anywhere in his teens when cursed. By the end he was somewhere in his twenties.

What makes the autotune much more egregious is you cast Audra McDonald--one of the best Broadway singers--in a small role (the wardrobe) and not autotune her one iota. That REALLY made Emma Watsons autotune more noticeable.

The shot of them dancing in the original animated film as the camera pans all around them in the ballroom was literally the only reason I wanted to even see this film, and it wasn’t there. Unlike a book where you just copy the script almost apart from some adjustments you literally had the script and shots from a animated classic, and you copied so many things from the original but not the one famous scene this movie is known for 😂
