The library issue, combined with the company history, is why I have only paid for one game in their market (and probably the only one). The rest of my library is split between sidequest and Steam.

one of the things i dont like is that the curve on the lenses doesnt work with a lot of glasses, it doesnt change the quality or anything it just distorts the edges and forces you to look with your head instead of your eyes. its even worse with the glasses spacer

I’ve had my quest for a few months and I’ve never had a problem with most of these. Except for the disappearing game library, I HATE THE STUPID DISAPPEARING GAMES (but I’ve found that booting up a game from the oculus app usually fixes this problem and returns all your games) Also, the the constantly changing menus is pretty annoying.

The IPD thing is very obnoxious but I found you can actually get it to sit in between settings if you're gentle enough. The weird thing about this is when you get the pop up telling you your IPD it shows you the correct number. I.e, mine said it was at 66.7mm

I got the Quest 2 for christmas, and I've been using the strap that came with it and somehow, I find it comfortable lol, I don't have any issues with it. no headaches or something, it fits perfectly

its kind of random but i just found out something cool about the quest: With a nintendo switch controller connected, if you press the home button on it, it "closes" the currently running game, but keeps it as a background task. For example, im in beatsaber, press the button, and open anything else, idk population one. Beatsaber is still active, and i can just switch over to beatsaber using the same button any time. So both games are running at once

I gave my friend my old Rift and got a Quest 2 last week. It might have some drawbacks, but it is a massive upgrade over the Rift, enough that after almost two years of not doin any VRin, it's pretty fresh again. Subscribed after checking out a few of your vids. Good coverage!

To fix losing your game library you have to do a factory reset. I have had it happen to me twice now and doing a factory reset and signing back in fixes the issue. You do have to re install your games again, but you still have them.

The Limited IPD is a real problem for me as someone with an IPD of 72. I had to resort to cutting one of those pink erasers to a bit larger than the gap between the lenses and stuffing it in-between to get a bit of relief. It doesnt help much but it does help.

I also lost my app library the way I fixed it was just connecting the headset to the oculus app like you are going to start casting, leave it for a few minutes connected then restart the headset it worked for me hope it works for you and your mods

Not gonna lie dude, I found you randomly when searching up Quest videos because I plan to get one. I got my Rift S right before they were discontinued and now the analog sticks on the touch controllers are finally starting to go out. When I found you, I watched one or two videos thinking you were cool. Then I proceeded to literally farm your content like some Netflix binger. Yeah Im getting some bad eye strain from using the Quest 2. I just cant seem to get that sweet spot no matter how hard I try. Just needed a slider rather then 3 settings. I know you can sort of set them in between but Im just off one of the 3 settings so it wants to slide back into that setting.

The adjust height feature is weird and moves the menu up but keeps you down when the headset turns on with it on (doesn’t really makes sense just turn it on and restart the headset) (didn’t do this when it was called raise view in experimental settings)

Earlier this year, I think you made a video about how if you signed up with a fake Facebook account your oculus would basically be useless. Is this still true? And if so, can I just factory reset it? 2. What are some good games to start out on? The first game I played was at a friends house and it was this climbing game that was really hard to get used to, so if there is a chill game to start out on it would be great! 3. I've had the game library issue a couple of times, I fixed it by relinking my oculus account to the headset with the phone app

Biggest issue:the battery life I just got of playing bc the battery ran out and also the fact that you need to by accesserys for it really be a great headset

I found out with the default quest strap you can actually angle/tilt the plastic parts the strap connects to the headset with downwards which makes it slide off of your head less, also making sure the top strap is tightened properly and holds the weight so you dont have to tighten the back strap as much is also a good thing if you dont want plastic bits digging into your skull. I still agree the original strap is garbage but if you cant afford a new one this works for now anyways gonna list random issues i have with the quest 2 that werent listed whenever i start it up sometimes the little guardian menu box thingy doesnt pop up so i have to put the headset to sleep and then turn it back on to see it and ya know actually be able to click continue and access the main home menu lenses fog if i get to sweaty, kinda wish there was a little fan above them or something just to blow off the condensation when on games ill randomly get the 3 dots / grey screen of death and then get thrown back into the main menu or ill get stuck on the grey screen and have to restart my entire quest i have the peek to see guardian thing on where if you look down you can see the outline of the guardian but sometimes the line is stuck there even if im not looking down which is annoying notifications cause lag spikes sometimes i dont get a notification when my headset power is low so it just randomly dies mid game with no warning sometimes the screen gets stuck in one spot and if i look around the rest of the 360 view is just pitch black or the frames lag really badly and cant catch up with me moving my head floor level likes to randomly throw itself into my basement/way below my actual floor level (only while in the floor level adjust menu) ??? controllers are very sensitive to hand movement which is a good thing but when trying to use a keyboard or click small buttons my hands shake to much, wish there was an option where you could like click and hold something to "steady" your hands when needed the fact you have to have a facebook account is bullshit because i never have an intent to use facebook but just to make a quest 2 account so i could ya know actually use my headset i had to make one (and i didnt use my real name which risks it being banned which risks me being locked out of my headset) i have the pattern enabled on my account and sometimes i have to enter it atleast 5 times before it actually registers i did it and lets me into my account

for the games disappearing, I found that you can launch your game from your phone and from there all the rest of the games will appear again (sorry if this was hard to read but basically when it happens just boot a game up from your phone)

I lost my game library, but for some reason, when I connected my headset to my phone via Bluetooth, it started working again. I don't know if this was actually what helped it work, but im.glad anyways.

i wanted to add an issue as i experienced it and so many others as well from what i research, replacement warranty headset's coming in with more issues than the one you sent away to get replaced, went through this with mine, left side audio crackle, sent away and received replacement, out of box new one had guardian issues, could never get one, ( i feel like it must have been a returned unit with broken camera) , 2nd replacement works 100% better though but whole process took 7 weeks

I have recently bought a quest 2(hasnt arrived yet) but my thoughts with the stock strap are, to just where a beenie to stop with the the plastic stuff/uncomfortableness

I'm not sure if its just my headset but i have this problem that if i move to fast, look near a tv even if its of and if there's a tiny change is sunlight like a door opening will make the tracking get of and i have to reset the garden history and restart the headset for like 10 mins of play time.

since update v39, tracking consistently fails if you take the headset off for a quick break, when you put it back on you cant use the controllers any more. It never used to do that.

For me the 7 year old CV1 is better nearly every way as a power user at least. Better FOV, better IPD adjustment, OLED screen, far superior tracking, far superior audio, much better head strap, better controllers, doesn't run out of battery obviously it doesn't have one (quest 2 runs out even when using Link), a lot easier to run games on it, etc. That last point is one of the only downsides, that being a lower resolution/easier to run. Although I never had an issue with the CV1's res, and am in the process of selling my quest 2 for an OG CV1

Does anyone else have the issue that sometimes you draw your roomscale guardian and then it just force-switches you over to stationary? I always delete my guardian history and restart my headset and then redraw it 10x until it works. It's weird, recently it felt like it had something to do with the shape of my guardian, idk

For me, i think the fov slider causes me to not be able to put in the right spot, and then a horrendous amount of glare appears.

The libary issue happened to me once and after restaring or re signing in and my apps not appering I then screen casted my quest to my phone and tried to open my apps from there and all of a sudden all my apps came back. Dont know if this might help for anyone

my library had the same glitch and it did not change, after 3 months I hard reset my headset, I had no paid games anyway :) also when you record with the built in recorder on the quest its not in fullscreen

I actually like the head-strap it comes with. Its not un-comfy, gets the job done and makes the headset easier to transport.

The biggest improvement that they should look into is putting hand straps on the controllers by default, not just the hand straps. Sure you can get covers for 20 bucks online but that should be something thrown in extra. It’s like the silicone slides for the wii

Bro the update glitch is so so so annoying, every time I want to talk to my friends I have to see “SOCIAL UPDATE WOULD YOU LIKE TO UPDATE IT? 1. Notifications can cause lag. Annoying when I get a "your media has been synced" notification in the middle of beat saber, causing me to miss notes, and wondering what new media it had to sync. 2. The guardian moving with the headset. As in I stand up, and my floor level rises. I move, and the guardian moves with me slightly. The only fixes have been when (coincidentally) a software update has happened. Then it is back to normal. The only other fix I have seen from searching online is a factory reset. This makes it impossible to play with a roomscale boundary

I had the bug with the game library bug and there is a way to fix it if u go onto ur phone and open an app with the headset on ur head it seems to fix it

1. I can't take my beer into VR with me. Seriously, my headset should be able to take a table with my beer or soda into a game. Cameras should learn & identify and know where it is at all times. 2. I should be able to move in and out of pass-though mode quickly and easily, without hiccups or a jolt to the VR operation & system. 3. Like you said, we should be able to open and close the system menu/chat easily anytime. Like in Ready Player One.

In my opinion it’s the battery that they used for the quest 2, sure the battery that is currently in the headset has a long battery life, but the battery will drain over time, and being someone that has used the quest 2 for a year, the battery has drained a lot, so a different battery would be great.

The game library can be fixed by factory resetting the whole setting and logging in your account, you can find videos on how to reset your headset on KZfaq, the only downside is that you have to download all your games again.

The library issue on my end happens from it me to time, but all I need to do to get my games back is just close and re open the apps menu

My library went missing too. Updated my original Quest, a week later all gone. The headset would not find/connect on my phone. I don't know why, but I got everything back by opening/connecting my headset in Developer hub, then headset was finally found on my phone app. I looked up the games/apps on the phone app. My library was back. The web content was missing. Reset the headset. Everything is back.

I don’t really mind any of these including the headstrap because 1 I don’t have 20 to 30 dollars to drop on a headstrap and 2 I don’t get that immersed to whip my head and stuff like that

I have an issue with mine where when I am streaming for about an hour, my visuals go wonky. Almost like looking in a magnifying glass.

I think I got the perfect oculus. I have non of these problems besides the guardian ones, and randomly I have a black screen when i turn on my oculus which needs a restart.

please mention this in your next video because I've seen no one talk about it. When I lost my games on quest I tried everything. To the point I was going to return the headset until a idea popped into my head. So if you turn off Bluetooth on the headset the library disappears which my brother turn of on his phone causing the Oculus app to disconnect Bluetooth to the headset deleting your game library so all you have to do is turn on Bluetooth again.

i had a time where my headset lost guardian while i was in my guardian, and every 2 minutes it would reset, telling me i'm not in my guardian and have to re draw it. that was a few long months ago so it may have been fixed by now

I turn my Quest 2 off when I'm not using it. 1/5 times when I turn it back on it loses the guardian AND the passthrough scaling is slightly off. This makes it incredibly difficult to draw a new guardian. Lowering my view sinks the guardian floor into the ground, and raising my head brings it above the ground. Walking around the room makes the guardian appear to drift so I cannot draw the guardian while standing in one position because even a foot of distance makes the guardian appear as if it is not where it is. I have to tip toe directly above closely where I am drawing in order to draw the guardian. The guardian scale IS true to the room, it is just the passthrough warp scaling that is incorrect, making it appear as if it is drifting in the headset view.

I have an issue when I quit a game it says quit game like usual and then I press quit game but then it doesn’t work and I’m just stuck in the menu and it doesn’t let me click any other buttons

I just bought my 2nd metaquest 2. And it’s not charging and keeps beeping for no reason. I had my first one for a week before it stopped charging. The second one only lasted 3 days before it stopped charging again. Am I doing something wrong or is this a common problem.

I had to get the Halo strap because of my pulled muscles in my neck that is a safety violation they should have double checked their product before listening to know I mean that last cord you do make a good point across the belly issue with the head strap they also need to fix steam VR on it for computer

i have one sin you cant access the browser while in a game and i like listening to spotify and every time i wanna switch the song i have to get out of the game and then go back in and i play gorilla tag and there are a lot of toxic lobbies and when i find a good one and im listening to music i have to get back out and find another good lobby this one is also connected to one of yours but this happends way to much for me

this is very rare but my quest 2 when I use pc vr with it after about a hour it goes to low fps and a kind of fisheye lens mode and the only way to fix this at the moment is to get a replacement this isn't too much of meta/oculus/facebook's fault but I still consider it as a sin

I’ve lost all my games 2 times as of right now. Every time I time I turn on my quest 2 it’s like gambling to see if I lost $150 worth of games.

My quest is constantly freezing and unfreezing and when it freezes it disconnects the controllers so do you have a solution. (I have tried restarting, power off, hard reset, and stopped using for 2 hours)
