@kroganlove3640

@kingofkings69ner The first 2 are the best. In some ways I kind of liked predator two better than the first. The first was out in 1987 and predator 2 came along in 1990. Most fans largely ignore any of the predator films made after predator 2. The main problem really the ONLY problem with predator two is that it feels like it's originally written to be set in miami, but they forced it to be set in LA, and so the jamaican voodoo gangs and subways don't make sense in los angeles. Anyway, Predator 1 and 2 are classic movies that made the careers of so many people, AND set the standard for nearly every sci-fi, or "monster" movie that's been made sense. You should check it out again. It's been long enough it will be like a brand new movie lol! Also, get this, the Die Hard movie staring Bruce Willis, was originally written as the predator two script but some junk happened and it ended up being turned into Die Hard instead.

The attention to detail in this movie is crazy. Like, Reese has to fire shotgun slugs at the Terminator's gun hand to stop it from killing Sarah Conner, which is how he ends up losing the handgun and gets looked at in the self-repair scene. Quest for Truth You need to read the novel: Sarah Connor gets killed in 2029, during the war against the machines. Skynet then discovers in a routine autopsy that Sarah Connor had a leg injury that had been present prior to Judgment Day. So later, when Skynet sends a Terminator to *change* the past, the Terminator can positively identify Sarah based on that leg injury, because Skynet thought Sarah got the injury as a child. Unfortunately for Skynet, Sarah got that leg injury when Kyle blew the Terminator in half with a pipe bomb. So Skynet's efforts to change the future in fact preserved it.

2:39 Reese is loading Winchester AA Trap shells in the shotgun, the printing on the shells can be seen almost as if it were product placement, this is a low power bird shot target load made for shooting clay targets, then he shoots fist sized slug holes in the windshield of the police car driven by the terminator from about 15 yards. This load would not even crack the windshield at that distance, and you'd generally be safe in the car from a low power bird shot load unless it was fired from very close range. Also, the Cadillac that Kyle and Sarah were in had fist size slug holes all across the passenger side from the terminator's attack, any weapon that could make a hole like that would go clean thru and kill them like Bonnie and Clyde.

Patrick Campbell I have the Terminator Anthology blu-ray set... Based on his age in the original timeline, Kyle was born in 2002. In T1, we never learn when J-day is... In T2, Judgment Day was August 29th, 1997... In T3, due to the events of the previous movie, J-day is moved to July 25, 2004... which would've been 2 years after Kyle was born... However, in TSCC, Cameron tells Sarah in 2007 that Judgment Day is now set to occur on April 21, 2011 and that Skynet is destined to go online a few days earlier, on April 19, 2011... and in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Kyle was a little kid when Judgment Day happened. In T4, Marcus was executed in 2003, so Judgement Day hadn't happened yet and he wakes up in 2018... so J-day happened sometime between 2003 and 2018, as the date of Judgment Day is not specifically given during the film.

Judgment Day took place in 2004, which follows from the end of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which the movie came out in 2003, but the movie takes place on and after July 24, 2004... So, it's possible he wouldn't know how to use a phone book... but it's not hard to do...

Honestly, I love this film. The whole feel of it just works. It is written like some sort of indie film, and almost plays out like one. I remember my family telling me that the second one is the best. (And in some ways I can say it is) Even my mom, who isn't someone who likes these types of movies, told me I was wrong about liking this movie better than the second. My reason: It has the feel of what they were going for. The terminator was horrifying! I remember the first time I watched it, just feeling the doom and gloom of the plot. "They won't make it." "It's unstoppable." The movie was also made from an extremely low budget, and feels like someone wrote it with the idea of making more. And that one shot of the terminator rising from the flames... If that didn't get you, I don't know what will. (Also that fact that that shot was based off of the dream James Cameron had, which inspired him to write the movie.)

At 3:25 you said the time machine can be fooled to send metal back in time. This is actually a common plot device used in other Terminator related stories, including The Terminator Omnibus where they surgically implant a laser rifle (that would be Terminators doing this) inside a human then go back in time with said human and rip it out so its fine. So I'd say that one is fine and is not a "Movie Sin"... uh the rest are all pretty bad lol, thank you for making this so I can get my Terminator Nerd on :P

The sin is a silly one anyway because we're being given the information related to the time machine from Kyle. A future soldier. Not a scientist. He has virtually no way of knowing the details of the time displacement device beyond what he is told by his superiors or what he glosses from observation. He even remarks on this very point in the "sin" by saying "something about the field generated by a living organism. Nothing dead will go." "Why?" "I *didn't build the f*cking thing!" "Okay, okay, but if it's metal..." "Surrendered by living tissue!" It's explained right there in the movie. The real sin would be to ask why they don't just send the Terminator back with a bio-organic pod that will live just long enough to make the trip, and arm him with a bunch of future weapons and equipment. Right?

Okay I may have a possible explanation for the Terminator "soaking in LA atmosphere." Since we know he has telescopic vision and most likely deep memory banks..he may have been making a digital map of that particular section and perhaps combining this knowledge with local maps

Sarah wears a Jetsons tee shirt early in the movie. It’s a cartoon about a future utopian society where advanced technology makes life easier for everyone. Terminator is a cautionary tale that shows us what can happen when we become too dependent on technology. The irony is sinful, right?

DeOrestes 1) Most of the film that was shot at night was done in Vancouver for obvious reasons (safety). 2) The Vancouver skyline has changed a lot since this film was made. 3) Back then the Canadian dollar went so much further that they shot only what they needed to shoot in L.A. (specific landmarks etc.) before high tailing it back to Canada.

I love the Terminator movies but one problem that I've always had with them is how is Kyle Reese John's father when he was born after him? Someone else must have gotten Sarah pregnant first so that John Connor could've been born and give Kyle Reese the orders to go back in time and save his mom. It's impossible for Reese to be John's father.

@spaceman081447

@ Gustavo Rodriguez RE: "It's impossible for Reese to be John's father." Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor had sex in 1984. John Connor was born in 1985. By 2029, Skynet had started a thermonuclear war that had wiped out most humans. However, John Connor was leading the human resistance against Skynet and the Terminators. He was 44 at the time that he sent Kyle Reese back in time to protect Sarah Connor. Reese was younger than Connor, probably no more than 25. So, yes, once Reese is back in 1984, he exists at a point in the timeline at least 20 years before he was born. But scientists have a name for such an apparent reversal of causality. It's called a "closed time-like curve." (look it up)
@TheChapelGrove
@TheChapelGrove 3 жыл бұрын
There is one other possibility. Kyle Reese lied. There was no John Connor in the future leading the resistance, but they desperately needed such a leader. So he came back in time to spin this story and, in effect, CREATE a heroic John Connor for the future. In such a scenario, this would spawn a new timeline in which there was a John Connor leading the resistance. The machines would then send a terminator back in time to try to prevent this John Connor from being born. That would mean that, although the terminator arrived in 1984 before Reese, he actually wasn't sent until AFTER Reese had traveled back in time. Last to leave, first to arrive. (Time travel is funny that way.) Of course, this only applies to the first movie.

Thanks for the Harlan Ellison reference. There is no doubt that the first few minutes of Terminator 1 is similar in many respects to the Outer Limits episode: Soldier. Reportedly, Ellison got $400K for that. That's pennies on the dollar for the Terminator Franchise. The theme of a soldier from the future going to the past, the desolate landscape, the "laser" beams shooting at human soldiers are all pretty much exact copies. But, that's it. No similarities after that. Now that a few similar chords to Katy Perry's song have been ruled "plagarism" to the tune of tens of millions, there is no guarantee that everything similar to anything that makes money will be a source of income from a claim or lawsuit.

Agree with most points but you were wrong on a few things. Sarah believes Kyle also because she saw the Terminator take shotgun rounds, etc., who doesn't have picts/ID's laying around in their house?, Kyle literally just said that the Terminator only knew name/city, Sarah pushed the button earlier in the scene. Sins taken off for each classic line: "come w me if you want to live," "I'll be back," and "you're terminated sucker." I would also take sins off for great cast, special effects, and the creation of one the greatest female protagonists ever.
