Toy Story 4 continues the franchise's trend of being unnecessary but awesome, like all Toy Story sequels before it. You probably loved it, and we did too. But it has sins, kids. It definitely has sins.
Thursday: Sins (honestly not sure what video it is, but I'll update this hint once I figure it out)
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

@@Hi-yu8cf She obviously does like cowboys or at least cowgirls because Jessie is now her favourite so it doesn’t make sense how Woody isn’t. Plus during 3, which takes place at maximum a year before 4, she’s obsessed with Woody. And she’s so eager to reach for Woody when Andy is giving away the toys and he pulls him back for a brief moment. She clearly likes playing with Woody but now they’ve changed that

@@cocob0l0 I said maybe not paying closer attention to detail. And yeah shes a child. Shes not going to only love one toy her whole life. Kids that young can have a new favorite toy every few days, or they might stick with one for months. The new favorite might be a new toy, they might fixate on an old one again. If Woody was her favorite in 3, but isn't now in 4 that wouldn't be inconsistent with reality.

I cried 2 times on this movie - once when Harmony rejected Gabby in SUCH A DISRESPECTFUL MANNER, i felt so bad for her. And in the ending, when Woody left his friends. My childhood, my life, got absolutely STRUCK. I never expected this outcome. I have been torn apart since. I know why i'm sad, but... I can't define it. I felt... happy for Woody, since that is what he wanted, but i felt really sad for his friends, because they lost their best friend. Losing someone you know is my biggest fear and weakness, yet still, I know it's *INEVITABLE*. I LOVE TOY STORY. I am just a kid, a 14 year old boy from Poland, who is really struggling, since next week i have to take exams that will basically define the next 4 years or so for me. Toy Story was always with me, since basically forever. The only other moment that makes me cry is in Toy Story 2, when Jessie shows her backstory with Emily. This franchise *DEFINED MY LIFE*. I am just so glad that these movies were made. Goodbye, you just read through my story, i guess?

My biggest gripe was Buzz. Toy Story 1 was so good for his character development they actually had nowhere else to go. So Toy Story 2 cheats with another Buzz that doesn’t know its a toy. Great makes sense! Toy Story 3 has him reset by the villains so he’s in toy mode again. Still good, it’s funny and it’s cool to see him be bad. This film has absolutely no reason for Buzz to not know how to lead. He led the group in part 2 without Woody, so he knows what he’s doing!

How about Jessie? If you've seen Toy Story of Terror, she became a fully fledged hero in that special. Now all the sudden she's a weakened character who just lets Bo haul the character who's basically become her brother off with no protest whatsoever? It honestly felt like they intentionally made Jessie weaker for the sake of making Dolly and Bo look "strong".

@@CJ-iz3mp THANK YOU. Plus, most seem to forget Buzz was like a spy team leader for most of Toy Story of Terror. TS4 does NOT match his character (or Jessie's either for that matter).

No it doesn't go against the ending of Toy Story 2 in the fourth movie because the storyline isn't about Andy anymore, which is what Woody and Buzz were talking about at the end of the second movie when he was still a kid and he hadn't grown up yet. They belong to Bonnie now in this movie so what they said at the end of Toy Story 2 doesn't matter because Andy already grew up in the previous movie and gave them away to somebody else remember ? It didn't ruin anything you just completely missed the point.

Forget Buzz, how the hell could Woody leave behind Jesse with her clearly crippling abandonment issues? I get that they're more like siblings but her entire arc was getting her friends that she could trust wouldn't leave again. That's why she freaks out every time someone threatens to put her in storage; she thinks she's being abandoned again. And at least then she has all her toy friends. Woody was instrumental in lessening that and then he just goes and fuckin leaves?

I think the ending of TS4 is not really about leaving your friends behind for a romantic relationship. I think it's about Woody realizing that Andy is still his kid and his loyalty to him didn't change. He was trying to do the same for Bonnie but he realized it's not the same as Andy. And I think he lost his purpose, but he found a new one when he helped Gabby find a kid. It's the same thing he did for Forky, he did everything so Forky could be there for Bonnie. Plus I think that giving away his parts says something too...like he did it because he knows he will not be played at anymore by Bonnie, hence there is no sense anymore in staying with Bonnie since his purpose or functionality is gone. Bo Peep could be a little bossy here, but what she's trying to say to Woody is that you're not defined by whether you have a kid or not. You don't lose your purpose if you're not loved anymore. You choose your own purpose, and you could choose to live freely. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. 😆😆😆

This is definitely one of those endings in movies that are so misunderstood. They can have a much deeper meaning if you actually pay attention to the character development throughout the film and not stay stuck on the main theme of the previous films. Pixar knew what they were doing with this and I'm so glad you see it! This is also an important lesson to learn in real life to some of not most people - especially people like me who feel as if having friends defines you. It does not. You don't need another person's love to define who you are. Woody didn't need loving from a kid to know that he is one of Pixar's most selfless, heroic, and lovable characters of all time. Definitely a great message to the world that a shocking amount of people don't realize.
@Marrrrley
@Marrrrley 6 ай бұрын
@@MiaCastillo-gw4wh I mean, yeah but doesn't that go against all he said and how he acted for 3 whole movies? "You have a friend in me" or Andy saying "he'll never let you down" are not phrases that were said for nothing, they were strong in the sense that Woody NEVER let anyone down, he never abandoned anyone.... So I liked the "I already got all the love I need, I'll help other toys get that too", but I expected something better from Pixar ngl, not him just abandoning his family of like 15-20 years to go toyhumping, even though he wasn't being played with. It's kinda hypocritical at this point having Woody leave when he wasn't played with but he was requesting of his friends to just stand in the attic for Andy. So yeah, maybe it's misunderstood, but you can't blame at all the people that disliked this ending, you gotta admit it was wrongly executed and it's normal to not feel great with it, as I still feel quite conflicted with it.

I LOVE the Toy Story trilogy. I think the animation and the characters and the story only got BETTER as the films went on. The story was infused with emotion and creativity and charm and these characters became MUCH MORE than mere pixels on a screen. By the end of the third movie, they truly felt like friends. We cared about them....which is why we all cried at Toy Story 3. I was exactly Andy's age when the first Toy Story came out and when Toy Story 3 came out, I was also going off to college (with my Disney movies in a box in my car) and saying goodbye to childhood. So I KNEW how he was feeling. I may be crazy....but I did NOT like Toy Story 4. AT ALL. The animation was stunning, but I didn't care for much of anything else about it. It felt....very cheap and hollow after the journey I have been on with these characters. And there were WAY to many new characters. The second movie introduced 3 characters (2 of whom have remained in the series....Jessie, Bullseye and the Prospector) and we liked Jessie and Bullseye. The third movie introduced a lot of characters, but they were smart in focusing on a select few (like Lotso and Ken and Bonnie's toys so it wasn't so overwhelming). Unlike Buzz and Jessie from 1 and 2, I could not warm up to Forky as a character. I didn't find anything charming or endearing about him. He was literal trash and he made it VERY clear that he didn't want to be there. And I honestly don't remember any of the other characters' names or what made them so necessary to the story. The villain doll was....decent....but then even THAT felt half-baked compared to other villains. I thought the Bo Peep plot line was ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and unneeded....especially them running into her YEARS later because they just HAPPENED to be in the same amusement park. And honestly, as much as they tried to reignite whatever romantic spark was shared between her and Woody, I never ONCE got the impression that she actually still had feelings for Woody. If anything, she seemed almost annoyed by his being there. Like he was an unwelcome intruder in her new life. And this is half the reason that I HATED HATED HATED Woody's decision to go with HER at the end rather than stay with Bonnie. I felt like it went against EVERYTHING that Woody's character has stood for in the last 3 movies. His mantra has always been "Being there for Andy/Bonnie when they need us" and I felt to completely ignore that and choose the girl was a complete insult to his character.....and it felt like a cheap way of writing Woody out of any potential sequels (which lets face it....there ARE going to be more sequels so long as these films make money....because that's all Disney cares about now. Money and sequels/remakes. It was never about being the favorite toy. After all, in the first one, Buzz became the favorite. Honestly, they should have just let the story end at the third one. It was a perfect ending to a perfect trilogy..

Alright, I'm gonna give this a shot. Only toys are sentient, and ALL toys are sentient. They are manufactured knowing their background. Extending those two rules, a spork is manufactured knowing it's a single use utensil, but it isn't sentient and therefore not aware of anything. When Bonnie turns the spork into a toy it becomes sentient, but retains it's "backstory" of be-used-and-get-thrown-out. Why Forky is even more resistant to accepting a common alteration in it's purpose than Buzz was to understanding he is a toy representing his backstory and not actually a space hero is unclear. Especially because we're given the impression that not knowing you're a toy is some sort of manufacturing flaw, since the toys are surprised that Buzz comes out of the box deluded.

CORRECTION: Woody was made in the 1950s, meaning he’s more likely made of _American_ plastic, ergo he’s already where he’s “supposed” to be. However, the point would’ve made more sense if it surrounded Buzz, as in the first film, his arm literally says “Made in Taiwan.”

That's what so great about it. Little kids have short memories and change favorite toys all the time. Woody being Andy's favorite toy for all that time was a special and unique experience. I always wanted to believe the fan theory that Woody was Andy's deceased dad's toy from his childhood in the 1950s. In Toy Story 2 Andy's mom even said "no, that's an old family toy" when the collector tries to buy him. Andy giving Woody away to Bonnie kind of ruined that.

no, the moral is to think beyond yourself and help others, aka selflessness. Woody leaves his friends, his personal life, everything he lives for, so he can help toys and kids that need it. His character development throughout the movie is learning how to care, such as with Gabby and the voice box. He learns to move past his selfish ways and look at things that can help others around him, which is why I thought the ending was great. He left his personal life, not to be with a chick, but to help other lost toys.

• So we’ll just gloss past the whole significance of Bo Peep having her arm casually snapped off and just taping it back on allows it to function again?! I know the Potato Heads could have their parts work independently of their body but they were designed as such to be mix-matchable. • I don’t have the greatest memory of the earlier films, but how does Bo Peep’s outfit work? She’s normally in southern belle dress which can move when she becomes animate but how can there be a fully designed undergarment like she wears once the dress she was sculpted in is removed?! Was all her clothing fabric so that the figurine of a lamp could be dressed and undressed like a Barbie doll?? • Buzz’s speech buttons are inconsistent on which one to go to when seeking abstract advice and it was clearly shown that he had only 3 recorded lines that corresponded to each button. He seems to push the exact same one each time for whole swathes of lines never even heard before. • This whole movie rocks the already shaky premise of “toys are alive without you knowing it” by actually going into the question of what is and isn’t a toy by Forky being arts and craft toy now gaining sentience like molded plastic at a Hasbro factory. But if it’s brought about by being played with and imbued with a perception “playing”, what does that mean for my fleshlight or some rich dude’s latex RealDoll which we play with? • How convenient is it the girl the films misleads you into thinking is the one for Gabby just happens to look exactly like girl in the picture book with a purple dress just when it’s conveniently a visual parallel? • So Molly has more than one Barbie in her toy chest?! I understand that completely because girls and what not, but where were they in the 3rd film when only one Barbie was present and nobody acted like she was missing any “sisters” like when Woody mentioned losing friends like Bo Peep between sequels?

Hiya. Cinemasins that was a touching moment at 11:25 of this video. It's the part where you said " that the things we want to fix about ourselves won't fix everything". Thank you so much for this because the majority of my life was just based on fixing mistakes I made because sometimes I'm often a poor judge of character for reasons that I was innocent in my younger years and people took advantage over my innocence and so I began to start defending myself more as I grew up byt resulting in burning bridges. 2020 was about me not just getting my life together but fixing everything I messed up in; a new beginning. This year I had felt like I didn't give my younger self the life I intended to live which was to make a whole lot of friends or go to a university. I can still do all these things but I'm starting from scratch all over again. I thought that if I had better myself the world would see me as a excellent independent person and I would gained respect for hard work I did. But the biggest thing I realize is, thank to your realization input, isthat no matter how much you change and better yourself, the world will always remain the same. It almost reminds me of Corraine Bailey's song "Put your records on. " P.S. sorry for the long comment.☺

It's about sentient (sentience is the capacity to feel, perceive or experience subjectively.- Wiki) toys, not about toys that have human like anatomy but are immortal. Your point makes absolutely no sense at all since, him being sentient and having his mouth be/not be on his face have absolutely nothing to do with each other. seriously, Do people like you even properly watch the video or just skim through it, briefly keeping small points in mind while thinking of stupid reasons to hate on said points.

Adrian Matthews while, it is certainly a funny line, it’s not factual. The actual backstory for woody is he was a character from the show “Woody’s Roundup,” and, essentially, they held a contest where they’d release only a certain number of Woodys, and the only way to enter was via buying cereal. The only woody doll ever created was a prototype made in Texas by the American company, and sent to Andy’s father. There’s a great vid by SuperCarlinBrothers called Toy Story 0 about this.

N.P.C 7,000,000,000 in the 1950s, looking historically, definitely not Taipei or really anywhere from Asia. Woody was meant to raise moral during the WWII and Cold War era... so it’s likely that the company wouldn’t source material from countries that were 30 years old and didn’t even begin to have the economy for producing plastics and goods

My biggest gripe is how Buzz isn't a main, despite literally being one of the 2 series mascots. Also none of the others besides woody get any screen time either. I also hate how woody's defining voicebox is removed, and the break up at the end. The voicebox is too much though, it's woody's thing.
