If about 20 years have passed, that would make Gristle around 80 in Bergen years, so he technically isn’t under 21. I’m dealing with depression right now, and to be honest, I don’t think it’s a “stop being depressed” movie, just think of the differences between branch and poppy and how poppy’s whole life is surrounded by just being happy, that’s what she knows. I think it’s more about helping each other thru the tough times, because Poppy didn’t like say anything to have forced him to be happy, he was genuinely happy around her, and when she was sad, he helped her be happy. I don’t think there is anything insulting about this movie and honestly, it’s a kids movie and no kid is going to think this deeply about it so let’s just all stop being offended for everything please and get rid of all this hatred it’s suffocating
