But it's not... the math on the years doesn't add up. Valerie was taken in 2018... at some point after that she wrote her letter that was found by V. After the escape from Larkhill, V spent around 20 years putting his plan together, as he says at the end of the film. Then there's the fact that Evie's "void" work ID says it expires in 2024, meaning it is after 2024 given that she is still working at BTN at the beginning of the film and therefore the idea found by the inspectors is expired. I love this film, yet I realized today while rewatching it that the years in this movie 100% do not track, and there is no way the film is set in 2020 based on things stated by and shown in the movie itself.

He subverts saying exactly who he is, never pulling off the mask, then sends tons of them out. Since no one has ever seen his face, putting on the same mask makes you completely identical to the only form of who or what he is, an idea.

Plus every V sound probably reminds him of his number and helps him to not become complacent. As people most often do if not reminded of the tyranny at hand. (Think politics and citizens, yea? Get ramped up only to calm down before ever doing anything.)

Movie land rarely shows reality when it comes to shooting people in things that are "bullet proof" unless they're feigning death, in which case they fall over backwards silently rather than grabbing their ribs and yelling. V's mask for instance. Hooray, a bullet didn't penetrate your face. However the force of getting hit that hard in the face will probably cause a fatal head injury.

Well to be frank this movie has less than 30 actual sins like the priest not hitting V from point blank, natalie portman getting from the priest to her friend's house in that dress undetected, the swat team looking for natalie in the house that they can't possibly know she's there and I counted having too many coincidances as 1 sin and a few others. It's a brilliant movie and all poloticians should watch this annualy but it has a few sins.

I know this is four years old and all but my head canon was always that he'd lain down those dominos for real, but one at a time, for each action he took to complete his plan. So, it would have been over the course of years. I don't think that was actually intended by the writers but I always liked the idea.

I'm under the opinion that the most recent Riddick movie was the best of the films. Even though most people would say it just copies the plot of Pitch Black, I find that it's much more entertaining to get a movie that exemplifies the character of Richard B. Riddick over (1) Pitch Black's half-assed thriller/horror premise, and (2) the Chronicles of Riddick's random integration of Necromonger galactic take-over. Both of those movies seemed to drag Riddick along for the ride, rather than focus on him (since Vin Diesel's portrayal is really the only thing going for those films anyway). But sure, say something as vague as "oh wait that (film) was a mistake" as fact without any explanation what-so-ever as to why.

He's not even pointing out mistakes half the time so much as he's making corny jokes (some better than others, actually), unless of course, the movies he watches are exceedingly bad.

I always felt like the reason for all that was before Evie goes to him to say I wanna help she says:" No, I'm the one that's sorry; I'm sorry I'm not as strong a person; I'm sorry I'm not like my parents, I wish I was, but I'm not; I wish I was not afraid all the time, but I am.." I feel like V saw that, that she wanted to help but she was afraid, and the fact that she says she wishes to be as fearless as her parents is what let V to the conclusion that he is doing her a favor. I know most people don't support him for what he did, but I'm a kind of a person with a background of worse country than the movie, and now that I'm living in Canada I can compare and see that I have been through way more than these people and I'm mentally stronger. I don't want to compare or say that it's wrong or anything, if there is anything wrong it would be with me, but from what I have talked with my friends here, what they call trauma, I have been through way worse and I don't call it that. Again, this is not to put shame into mental health or anything, and person to person is different. It's just a simple observation of the saying "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times". I do think he did what was necessary to be done...

We already knew Evee had a strong character deep down but just wasn’t confident- so it makes sense for her to come out as a stronger person after being LITERALLY TORTURED. There are weak-willed people out there who would crumble like old clay under not even 5% of that sort of pressure, and that’s just reality. I personally think V just has a very distorted outlook on reality, blinded by vengeance, so coming up with a messed up facade to teach her to be stronger kinda makes sense (not that I agree w it).
