There is another Easter Egg in Cars 3! As some of you may know, there was a Cars short set to be released in 2015 called, “To Protect and Swerve”. Well, it was cancelled, although I don’t know why it was, but I do believe it wasn’t forgotten. In the Crazy 8/Demolition Derby/Thunder Hollow scene, all of the cars were being sent into the arena. One car stood out to me: the police car. Something about the camera angle change and her dialogue just popped out to me. I knew there had to be SOME sort of Easter Egg to that scene and I finally figured it out! Her line, “Protect and Swerve!” is a nod to that cancelled short! It’s not canon, but maybe we’ll see some new clues to more Cars related films in Cars 4! Just thought you’d like to know, Nate! 😊
