ABOUT ME
I'm Isaac Carlson, a creator based in Orlando, Florida, and ever since I can remember I’ve loved Disney. My fondest childhood memories come from visiting Walt Disney World with my family. I grew up loving Spider-Man, Star Wars, Pixar, and the classic animated films from Disney. The stories, characters, and worlds I adored as a child eventually inspired me to create videos of my own here on KZfaq, and it changed my life. On this channel, I explore the characters and worlds that ignite the child within all of us! My goal is to create a community built on wonder, positivity, and optimism where passionate fans can unite to celebrate the magic of animated films. Here, we believe dreams can come true.
Have a magical day! #lionking #mufasa #disney #animation

@@IsaacCarlson I agree, and I had a feeling. You're the guy who gives Disney films a chance and tries to see the best in them. (Or, seeing as we're talking about Mufasa. Your content is the light that goes over the shadowy place.) U know what would be cool... Instead of making Mufasa adopted they make Scar a kinda of "bastard" child... In Lion Prides the male has children with many of the lionesses, but this is very much downplayed in the lore of The Lion King becuz they want Simba to seem monogamous... So if they want a sibling rivalry thing they could make it that Scar and Mufasa was born around the same time bt Scar was born a few minutes after, and his mother is not the official 'queen' of the pride... Its an overused trope where the bastard child tries to stand up the official heir bt i think it will flow more smoothly than having Mufasa be some outsider that receives more love than scar... Becuz again in typical lion prides males are seen as challengers to the throne so even the kings own children get driven out once they reach adolescence... So it doesn't make sense for a lion king to accept the male child of another pride when he already has one of his own.... Sorry i went on a rant here... Thanks for the video... I am definitely not watching this movie

The biggest problem with this change is that it takes away some of the villain aspects from scar. Because now, instead of him killing his own blood out of his own greed and jealousy, it’s scar killing a false king and heir and reclaiming what was taken from him.

Also if they do make a live action of lion king 2 simba pride, an if the changes in the new Mufasa movie are true than ultimately Scar wins in the end. Think about it in royal bloodlines in real life or fiction only sons can carry on the bloodline so if they do make Scar, Kovu father than that means Scar wins his bloodline will live on, and I know this is a pride of loins where talking about but in human terms Mufasa bloodline ends with Kiara. So in the end Scar wins over both Mufasa and Simba.

Disney CEO: Let's make a prequel to the live action Lion King that was incredibly criticized but made us a ton of money. And based it on the origin of Mufasa. Creative Team at Disney: So you want us to write a Mufasa's origin story of how he rose to become King and how his relationship between Scar began to split? Disney CEO: Yes but instead of having Mufasa being born into royalty instead makes him an outsider orphan who favors his way into royalty. Creative Team at Disney: But wouldn't it be easier to have him already be apart of the royal family? Cause it sounds like if we did that it'd feel like that Mufasa favor his way to becoming king and stole it straight from Scar who rightfully deserves it. Isn't the whole point of doing this is to see the rift between the brothers come undone rather than giving Scar full reason to become who he became in the first film? Disney CEO: No, no, no. This is all gonna make sense eventually, somehow. Just don't think too hard about it.

I wonder if Rafiki or One of the Mandrill Shamans saw the future fate of Taka and Mufasa. Kings and Queens have been known to favor one of their children or choose one from the streets or orphanages in the stories. I'm pretty sure you perhaps have heard of primogeniture? "Primogeniture is the right, by law or custom, of the firstborn legitimate child to inherit the parent's entire or main estate in preference to shared inheritance among all or some children, any illegitimate child or any collateral relative. In most contexts, it means the inheritance of the firstborn son (agnatic primogeniture); it can also mean by the firstborn daughter (matrilineal primogeniture), or firstborn child (absolute primogeniture)." It was presumed that kings would simply pass the power to rule to their first-born son. This line of succession was also used to determine non-royal heirs to property and wealth. I supposed that applied to the Lion Royalty system, perhaps? I wouldn't be surprised if I can find the stories of the Royalty Succession in Real Life. 🤔🤔🤔

My take on this is, that Scar's parents deem him unfit as king and see his dark side very early (maybe they see him torture an innocent animal, forcing others to obey him, connection to hyeans, whatever) and when they see Mufasa being caring and empathetic they see their chance to adopt him and make him king. Scar would still be rightful king but completely unfit for the position. Everything else just doesn't sit right with me. The 2019 Scar also didn't have the narcissistic personality and just looked... evil. And nothing more. There was no need for Mufasa to have him around as he was straight up shown to be a threat. Maybe out if pity if Scar really was the rightful king. Whereas in the 1994 original version I feel like Mufasa has a more "I'd like to help him" attitude due to their connection of being blood relatives as Scar doesn't seem much of a threat but rather depressed or blue. And he might have straight up gaslit everybody anyway. I don't like their decision of making Mufasa being adopted rather than being native to the pridelands. As someone else mentioned in the comics: it takes away the villain aspect of Scar which makes the betrayal much less impactful. Also, I have the feeling that the animation looks even worse than in the 2019 version. I really don't know whether I will watch it or not. I'm totally underwhelmed by the trailer.

Since the 2019 continuity has no bearing on the 1994 continuity I guess they can do whatever they want with this film, but the thought of Scar being made into a sympathetic villain has me uneasy. You came up with a very good reason for Scar and Mufasa not to be related by blood that I had not even considered. Also one of the thing to consider is that even if Mufasa's Royal bloodline starts with him it still is a Royal bloodline. Even if Mufasa's blood only became Royal when he gained a crown.

It’s pretty sad that not only the new movie will have Scars birth parents adopt Mufasa. But those parents are gonna give Mufasa the throne. Plus really shows that Scars birth parents don’t like their biological son if they named him Taka ( trash) But that name also means to want … The CGI remake I feel lacking is characters designed, yeah it supposed to look like real lions but with these design I can’t even tell who’s Mufasa, who’s Sarabi, which lion is which? Heck even Nala who can have a lighter fur color she didn’t have any characteristics that made her stand out, they couldn’t even give her the blue eyes.

One story for an animated Lion King prequel movie would focus on Simba telling his son the story of one of his ancestors, his great-grandfather who would be the first king of the Pridelands and would be an animated version of a Lion King storybook titled “The Brightest Star”, but focusing on Simba and his son.

if Mufasa had been a mid to late 90s animated Disney movie, i would have LOVED it. But I have no intention of watching this movie now. I also don't need a Top Gun 3 or a Basic Instinct 3 at this stage of my life. Unfrosted was an amazing movie, and I laughed the whole time, but it's being buried by the critics because it's not a sequel, prequel or a reboot of a comfortable story we already have. People are demanding new and original content, but when new or original content shows up, they ignore it because it gets a low RT score. WATCH UNFROSTED ! It's the Kids in the Hall : Brain Candy of 2024.

I think that Mufasa is going to be a from the desert where Simba was stranded and met Timon and Pumba. And he runs away from his parents and ends up in the pride lands where Taka is from. And when Takas parents meet Mufasa they take him in, but Taka gets jealous and tries to fight Mufasa to get him to leave but Mufasa is too big and cuts his eye. And tells Taka to run away and never return which is why Scar tells Simba that before telling the Hyenas to kill Simba. Also, I'm hoping that the movie gives some insight on past kings Mufasa is referring to when him and Simba are looking up at the sky. I do think overall this movie has potential to be good but I guess we gotta wait and see

Disney learned nothing from the fandom. The fans’ interpretations of the prequel stories made more sense. Hell, the Tale of Two Brothers made more sense. Also, making the “oh they were not brothers, but the actual heir is treated bad” sounds like Nuka’s story, who is the “heir” to Zira’s plan, being her son, but the adopted son was picked over him. Is Disney afraid of making villainous blood relatives now?

Theory: Mufasa will become an adopted child of the royal family. He will treat Scar with respect and recognize him as his brother but Scar will not. Scar parents realize he is not gonna be a good king so they choose Mufasa to inherit the throne after probing his talents and leadership trough the movie. Scar will be always resentful about this. Simba's ancestors are not really "royal family" but actually just the lions that were chosen to be kings before him.

Honestly though, the idea of Taka/Scar is not actually biologically related to Mufasa makes some sense to me. It give an even stronger motive for him to go against Mufasa and Simba. He needs a bigger backstory like how Jafar received an actual background in the Aladdin Live action. As a fan of villians I Honestly love the idea. I just wish they added the WHOLE song of "Be Prepared" in the live action jnstead of cutting most of it out. Im a villain fan. I want my villains to have a proper song! I wouldn't really care if characters were actually adoptive foster brothers rather than biological unless they were rivals and hate each other which wouldn't really work as well for the emotional conflict between them two. Maybe the parents favors Mufasa because Scar was already really mentally deranged and did something unforgettable cruel already at a young age without feeling any remorse which Mufasa was never been told about it? Maybe his parents caught Scar killing his biological siblings and thus denounce him of being their heir? Maybe the parents adopted Mufasa first but unexpectedly got Scar later as Scar is said to be Mufasa's little brother? Mufasa maybe was already decided to be heir since they had a very strong bond raising him before Scar was born? Or maybe why not both of them being orphans who became replacement of their elderly adoptive parent's deceased children? Mufasa and Scar could have a really strong bond growing up from a very young age just like real biological brothers until they got told that one of them will taken over the throne after their parents dies. However Mufasa being adopted into royalty wouldn't really work for the live action version where he's much more concerned about the bloodlines than for his own son like the original did. I think maybe the reason for making Mufasa and Scar not blood related was to make Kovu Scar's biological son rather than being randomly the chosen one by Scar for no reason than simply looking like him. However whatever they are blood-related or not, that would still make Kiara and Kovu cousins due to Mufasa and Scar's close bond as a family and Simba's closeness to Scar as his uncle. It could be still risky to ship Kiara and Kovu for Disney.

"The great kings of the past look down at us from those stars." - Mufasa from the 2019 movie. Mufasa was not the first king. And also, with him adopted, that only makes Scar the more legitimate ruler of the Pride Lands and justifies his actions, and totally destroys Simba's story. Sure, Scar was a terrible king, but would his adopted nephew be suitable to challenge him for the throne? For the story of The Lion King to make sense, Scar and Mufasa have to be biologically related. While the 2019 movie was terrible enough with the decision to make it "live-action" without any live-action footage, this retcon ruins the remake even harder.

@@connormarchand6302 Scar was a terrible king, but losing his throne to lions ADOPTED into his family only justifies his actions and make us want to root for him. If Simba's father was adopted, then Simba wouldn't have the right to challenge Scar for the throne. It would be like a peasant unrelated to the king challenging him to the throne. How come Scar never said anything about Mufasa being adopted in the remake? It would have been a great way to try defend himself from Simba's challenge, because he would have revealed that Simba was never royalty in the first place. Sure, Simba could think Scar was lying or respond to Scar asking him to not fight his uncle with "You're not my uncle!" But obviously, there'd be more Scar supporters in the Pride Lands than Zira's group if it turned out Scar was the true heir. Especially in the real world fandom. Scar overhunted, but you know that kings make mistakes, and kings of noble blood could be corrupt. But Simba being the son of Scar's older biological brother helped make him the rightful king legally. Simba's father being adopted ruins the whole story.
