Would it be possible to drag and drop a sample into Splice, then have it analyzed, and have it reccomend samples that are similiar with tags so that if it's not the right sound in regards we'll know what type of tags to use as a hint? Long post I know 😅 but I thank the "Splice" team for thier efforts!

I’ve been using the desktop app for years now flawlessly on a 2012 MacBook Pro and a 2013 iMac. I couldn’t imagine not having splice work and totally streamline my workflow. To those who are experiencing problems do not quit! Splice makes things so easy and fun! It’s been a great way to make music with friends and it’s endless fun.

So I started the trial, and I was not able to download samples with the trial, I had to actually buy the subscription which is 19.99, and you charge me tax which makes no sense, as usually this is already included in any service subscriptions!

My feature request would be to Include the MIDI files with synth loops. Many of the loops are not In the key they say they're In and also I would like to be able to use my own synths so that my tracks are more cohesive since I don't build songs from the same loop creator, usually I only use one or two from Splice.

Can I select multiple samples/results in the desktop app now? Or is there a „select all“ function? And can I drag & drop multiple samples in my daw now? Also can I use rent to own plugins in my daw without opening splice and verify every single time I use them?

Edit *I got it to work* well sort of. Though I can preview the sound pretty much In sync a lot of them are not the right key and when I download them they are not synced anymore, just the original BPM of the loop. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I'm on Studio One Artist 3.5.6 I could not get the bridge to show up In my Plugin list In Studio One. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Does It work In S1 Artist 3.5.6?

I have a problem using the stacks with splice bridge, it seems to have to do with the low latency that my focusrite interface provides, where can I report this problem? I use FL studio.

where does splice put the files on my computer? how do I control that destination?

Open the Splice app then go to preferences. You will see the Splice folder location under Splice Sound preferences and can customize the location.

I only use no sample, or sample I made or payed for and if I use a sample I only use one in a project and build My own stuff around that. If splice samples are all or nearly all of the project then where is the creation, putting pre made sounds together is basically just mixing. It sort of reminds Me of Dance Ejay where you arrange pre made loops onto a timeline which is mixing with no additional skills such as playing keys or singing required either by Yourself or a collaborator.

I want to be able to change the genre of a stack and lock multiple lines that I I want to keep and not just the original sample. Now if u switch genres on stacks u can only keep the sample you started with

Where are the MIDI files? 🧐 If I open a pack that's supposed to have MIDI-files, there is only samples with .wav files and presets with preset files.

I'll quit in 2024, the fact that the desktop app takes so much time to load samples, download samples and itself to get started (which totally destroys flow), moreover that there aren't any plans for less points/month and that you cant access/use your points while a break or after you cancelled the subscription is a deal breaker

Beware of Splice's terms and conditions. They just issued a copyright strike to a youtube channel in which a lawyer reveals the implications of their terms and what it means for you. They are actively trying to prevent you understand their terms and conditions. This, in my opinion, lowers Splice to the level of scammers. @@davidestre6677you still need to declare the sample and show your licence to use it even if its free. Its no different to using any sample except these ones you don't need to pay royalties on. You don't own the samples because anyone can still use that same sample the same way you did but you do own your song, you just need to declare the samples with a licence.

Hip hop really can from stealing drum breaks and samples from different songs and put them together. I’m not that familiar with other types of music but this is how hop hop was created. I think the mixing of genres will eventually form more new styles of music

I feel that those who only put pre made loops together are mixers and also while its lazy its still music production because all the term production because all that term means is the arrangement of midi and audio into a timeline into a end product. The source of the sound or midi imput is irrelevant in production it dont matter if you made it or someone or something eles made it, its still production. Here are some additional skill someone might have ontop of production, Mixer, mastering, singing, key playing, instrument playing, sound designer, engender, composer. Do I think those who just put a bunch of pre made loops together lazy? Definitely because I do alot more then just production.
