Emma, have you ever given deodorant salt stones a try? Some small brands (and I think maybe also Lush) also offer deodorant bars. It can be a bit messy, but may also be an option for folks who have been using the glass deo and want to separate from cycling through packaging even more.

Just a warning about reusable pads. Do not wear them when flying. I've been flagged when going through airport security scanners. It's the press studs which holds them in place which triggers the scanner. Because of this, I will use single use pads for travel. Buying 1 pack of panty liners a year is not going to upset me as much as having TSA question me.

I like the idea of toothpaste tabs but a tube of paste (Toms or David’s) will last 6+mos so I can’t justify the high cost of tabs even to try out. I like my bamboo brush but haven’t yet tried a plastic free bristle one. I switched over to a wooden hairbrush and it was the BEST choice for my hair plus plastic free. I swap back and forth between Earthling bars and commercial curly hair products, it depends on my mood but much like toothpaste it takes about 6+ mos to use up a bottle of shampoo (I’ve gotten down to 1 wash a week regularly and occasionally 2) so I am not feeling guilty about it lol.

Geo Organics is available in toothpaste tabs, powder and mouthwash in Australia/ Oceania. Might be available in other countries. Haven’t tried the toothpaste but have checked the ingredients list and it’s a good option. If your sodium sensitive check all ingredients online from all companies brands and don’t give kids adult toothpaste. There are also chemicals band in the US and Europe that aren’t banned in other countries including Australia. Toms of maines original formula is one of those. Can’t remember the name will need to look it up. Under no circumstances is that toothpaste to be given to children. Bi-carb soda/ sodium bicarbonate/ bicarbonate soda (food grade) is a common ingredient that’s safe and whitens teeth and freshens breath try to get something with this. Also check abrasiveness on some aluminium foil (you can save some for this purpose) it shouldn’t be too abrasive this will help you choose a toothpaste that’s not damaging to your teeth. You can also read all the ingredients and what those chemicals are online to make an informed decision for you before you purchase. A good brand will be transparent about the ingredients. Sorry for the bombardment.

I have sensitive teeth and I'm also sensitive to SLS which is in most toothpastes, so literally the only one I can use is Sensodyne. I tried toothpaste tabs and got on fine with them but after a few weeks my tooth sensitivity started coming back so I had to go back to Sensodyne which was disappointing from an eco perspective! 😕

There are a few brands I use that are 100% recycled toilet paper. Yes they do come in a plastic wrap, but they are more affordable for me. Kroger sells Simple Truth 100% Recycled. Target sells EverSpring 100% Recycled. And if you have a Whole Foods their 365 brand has 100% Recycled Toilet Paper. Hope this helps anyone who wants to try to be better but can't break the bank.

i had the same issue with Quip and my tight teeth. i even tried wrapping the floss a couple times around each end, which was a bit time consuming and made the floss stay taut a little longer than just pinching the single strand. i also noticed the same issue as you with the natural floss breaking easily with my right teeth😞

You are also swapping out as needed. I have found that swapping these items as I used up my existing ones it has been about the same cost. But also most people are using way more than is actually necessary, for example I use a bottle of shampoo over 6+ mos but my fiancé uses the same bottle of shampoo (with way shorter hair) in like 2mos. The only pricy swap I made was reusable pads and underwear but it was very worth it.

I really don’t like these types of videos because they’re just another type of consumption. I wish you’d talk about how to take real ACTION.
