Evgeny Kissin, associated with Deutsche Grammophon for more than a quarter century, has been concentrating in recent years on Beethoven. This 2-CD album is his personal selection of highlights from recitals given between 2006 and 2016 in Vienna, Amsterdam, New York, Seoul and other leading musical centres. It is Kissin’s first substantial solo Beethoven release, an extensive compilation encompassing sonatas and variations from the composer’s early, middle and late periods. “A Beethoven player of rare pedigree and distinction” (Gramophone, 2008). “A rare and miraculous piano legend” (Daily Telegraph, 2016).
