We are all flawed.

Yes everyone of us has flaws, but not everyone of us has a talent. Having earnt my crust on stage since i was 14, im 54 now, this guy was talented bigtime. Not just great singing but every performance the way he led the band in its arrangement of the song was on par with a orchestral conductor, which is the trait of a great frontman

Totally blessed I was 11 he was 17 my rock idol what a buzz finally when I was 26 and Stevie 33 I got to meet him and if possible I was still starstruck and totally amazed how genuine he was we lost a good one but he is a star in the stars now

Evie Part 1, was a huge hit for Stevie Wright in 1974. The other parts were good, but considering that he wasn't even close to alright this night, the performance is close to stellar. Terrible what the evil stuff brings. 😢❤😊

Why couldn't he just be sweating profusely under the lights, because he puts on such a great performance and is moving around slot. And is tied. He tried to get help for his drugs adction . You can see how well that turned out. Having to jump out of a window to get away from the so called doctors he went to for help.. they gave him electronic shock treatment and cocktails of drugs.can you imagine giving drugs to addict to get him off the drugs. @@MikeWh I thought it was Malcolm Young because of the cigarette habit Mal was a chain smoker, always seem to have one going, while playing. I remember supporting Stevie Wright's band back in the mid 70s, at a hotel known as 'The Castle Hotel', it accually resembled a castle on the outside, our band use to play there quite regularly, but they always put interstate acts on, so we got a few of the supports Malcolm couldn't have been with them at this point, (mid 70s).because he was playing with his brother (Angas) in ACDC at this stage, and he stayed with them till he passed. Malcolm did play lead guitar with Stevie Wright when he recorded 'Evie 1, and 'Evie 2'. Quite an interesting Journey for the young brothers when you look at it, lovely guys, very down to earth, family get togethers were/are musicically based, all the brother's, and cousin's are musically inclined. Talented. I'm intrigued as to this guitarist is, in this 1987 video footage, I will do some investigating Cheers

My band supported them.back in this time at a hotel we had in Adelaide called the 'Castle Hotel' when Stevie Wright toured Australia, just after they released 'Evie, 1 and 2, as it is an epic song. Malcolm was playing lead guitar, with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, even back then, he would smoke on stage during the sets. As he was younger then, he didn't have the wrinkles and was a lot fuller in his build and face, very smooth looking, as can be seen in this footage. Malcolm is wearing a dark shirt with a pattern on it, he recorded Evie with Steve and went on tour with him. Remember Stevie Wright is a very short bloke, like Mal, and here Mal looks like he is slightly taller than Stevie. I know the Youngs, and met them on several occasion's, when they toured. This is Malcom Young in this footage. Look closely. Cheers.

Malcolm took time off touring in 1988 for alcoholism, and Stevie Young replaced him on tour. I know alot of history on the band and that's Definitely not him, and doesn't even look like him.

@@brettcarroll8760 My band 'Octopus at the time, supported Stevie Wright's band at the then 'Castle Hotel' on main South rd at Edwardstown, we use to get a lot of our gigs through CBA (Joyce Washinton, Ray Goldie and Bob Lott) and our personal manager was Peter Panagaris, this was back in 1972/73, we got to support a lot of interstate bands back in that time, and by 1987 when You're talking about, I was playing with Adelaide band 'The Watt Jockey's', with lead vocalist Peter Healy, he was also a radio announcer. Stevie Wright's band did continue without Malcolm, because also around this time ACDC had recorded their song 'Can I Sit Next To You Girl' with their then singer, can not remember his name, my band 'Octopus also supported 'ACDC' at the 'Bridgeway Hotel' at Pooraka. At the time, 1974/75, 'ACDC' were looking for a new singer and bass player. At the time I was friends with Bon Scott, he wasn't in a band at the time, and as we knew promoter Rick Lennon, he arranged for a get together with Malcolm and Angus Young, I was there when this took place, Bon and myself were asked if we might be interested in getting together for a play, they explained their plight, Bon was available, and at a loose end, so he said yes. They explained the situation, that it would be a move interstate, and to record with the new line-up. I turned it down, as my band were doing OK, we were gigging regularly, and were reasonably popular. I had no idea or expectations that they would make it to the top as they did, the other thing was, they were quite rough around the edges, (musically) and their songs weren't my cup of tea. Even after all these years, of witnessing their fame, still hasn't got me thinking that I should've joined them on the journey. Bon got a few years out of it, but sadly it ended for him. I often think about him, if I had joined with him, and took the chance, that he may still be here. I know myself, my nature, that I would have gone and found him, and made sure he was OK, he may have still been here. You may be right, if this footage is after 'ACDC', but as we are, from year to year, we don't remain looking the same. This guy playing here in this footage, looks like a younger Malcolm to me, he has the cigarette hanging out his mouth, just like Mal, Mal was a heavy smoker right to the end. It was he who asked Bon and myself to join. I have no regrets about my decision, and there are many South Australian muso's who know I was asked. In fact it was Bon and Rick who put me in, for the meeting. I will never forget it. Malcolm Young is a driver, the force behind any band he was involved with. He decided who, and what it, or played what. On the night we supported them at 'The Bridgeway Hotel', their bass player had no bass rig to play through, he asked me personally if he could use my gear, as Mal and Angus were using Marshalls at the time, I was using something equally as good at the time, as we used Marshall for our lead guitar, I used a 260 watt RMS Leonard amp, that were built in Australia at the time, (I still have this old rig, and it still works, all original speakers 'E Tone' speakers) and a 62 model Fender Jazz Bass, with the (f plate cover) I took it off after a while, as it got in the way. I use a pick to play bass, a heavy guage pick, because I play hard, and get that twangy edge to my sound, I also use Rotosound round wound standard guage strings. I prefer these, as they sound bright for longer, after 3 or 4 shows, I always change my strings. I still do this, but mainly use 5 string fender jazz, and 5 string Musicman bass guitars, with the active 18 volt pickups. These bass guitars stay harmonically in tune longer than for example, shechter, or Yamaha, Gibson, Ibanez, and have the sound, very consistent, and stable throughout a show. I always have spare guitars ready to change over to in case of a breakage, or mishap. I always carry spare 9 volt batteries, and put new batteries in before a show. I get my amplifiers serviced regularly, and in check. I use (FM audio) for my services and repairs, he is the best and reliable. He is the licenced authorised service dealer for all brands, in Adelaide. I go direct to him. And he is reasonably priced. If something is wrong, noisy, humming, cutting out, over heating, he can fix it, and tell you exactly what the problem is, and if it is urgent, he'll get it done pronto. I use ampeg and Hartke bass rigs, 2000 RMS watts into 8x10s or 2- 4x10s cabinets when I play shows. I will check this video footage out again, and if it is after the dates I have mentioned, then I must apologise for being wrong. It does resemble Malcolm as he was back then, he was a bit more animated then. Alberts managed Stevie Wright and ACDC, and Adelaide band 'The Angels' with Doc Neeson on lead vocals, they were another great Australian Rock band. Cheers.

Stevie wright had so much talent. He is missed. He could have done so much more. The Easybeats and Stevie. Where not Managed by the right people. They were taken advantage of and didn't know it.
