"I'm sorry". The exact same thing she said when she killed her father and enacted the curse. Coincidence? It's telling that the only people Regina is afraid of are her mother and her own inner darkness. I think the key to defeating the evil queen will be for Regina to accept that the Evil Queen is part of her. I'm not saying she hasn't taken responsiblity, she has. But to defeat the inner darkness, you're not supposed to fight it, usually, but acknowlege it.

Mr. Gold went through this too in the series finale with the Wish Realm Rumple. Gold said himself that the one enemy he could never defeat was himself. This was the same for Regina. The one thing Regina couldn't defeat was herself as The Evil Queen. The difference Regina finally was able defeat The Evil Queen by loving herself and taking back her darkness and giving EQ some of her love and Rumple sacrificed his life to defeat himself.

In the real Story of Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Hyde was actually full darkness. Was the one who hold the dark of Jekylls passions. But Jekyll was still himself. With the oportunity of see the light, or the darkness.

I like the darkness. It may be deceptive but it's also where our wishes, passions, and will to accomplish them are located. Without it, we would be obedient hollow robots uncapable of crafting the world.

Wow.... I love badass Emma. She had Regina's back. She's getting so good at controlling her magic. Way to go Emma. I love how supportive Snow White is with Regina. They have come a long ways. She definitely has Regina's back and I couldn't be happier. Snow has such a big heart to forgive a woman that caused her nothing but pain. She killed Snow's father. Cast a curse that separated her from her daughter. Killed countless people. Put her in a sleeping curse. Separated her from her husband and child for 28 years. Framed her for murder. Tried to kill her entire family and yet she still finds it in her heart to forgive Go Snow such a shining example on how to make your enemy a friend. Regina was awesome in this scene. Her struggle between good and evil was epic. It showed her fighting the darkness inside of her. She's been battling the darkness since she decided to be go. Seeing her struggle has given me a new kind of respect for her. Way to go Regina

Well said! I love snow and Regina's relationship and how they've come a long way together and I can't wait for Regina to go against her evil self next season! She might have to take her evil self back inside her but as long as she accepts herself as a hero and a good person in the end it will be okay!

+michaelva05 I'm excited to see Regina battling her darkness and winning. I think you're right about Regina having to take the darkness back. Like Hook she's going to have accept her past and move on. She's not that person anymore. She said it's hard to forgive yourself so I'm hoping that eventually she learns to live with what she's done and forgive herself. It's going to be a great season

I'm just wondering what's going to happen when she comes face to face with her evil self. Confronting her demons will not be easy I'm just hoping this will allow her to forgive herself. Regina told Emma "The hardest part is forgiving yourself" and she's struggled with forgiving herself for all the things the evil Queen has done Season 6 should be interesting

I hate that they consider Regina and the Evil Queen to be split personalities. Regina IS The Evil Queen, Regina made all of her choices on her own and chose to be dark time and time again. stop acting like EQ is part of her.

To be fair she was goaded into becoming the Evil Queen by Cora and Rumple Cora wanted her to have everything she didn't and Rumple needed her to be evil to enact the Dark Curse even when she learns that Snow broke her promise and got Daniel she was angry but didn't really want to kill her until Cora convinced her to and Rumple made her into the Evil Queen by making her realize that all her subjects hated her originally she wanted to learn magic to bring Daniel back to life when that failed she settled for killing Snow and Rumple pushed her to keep practicing dark magic and hate everyone

Actually its not about split personality, but we were already shown how Regina had thoughts of killing Snow when she still lived with little Snow. That’s considered her “dark” side “dark” thoughts. I don’t remember what season, but it was when she was brushing Snows hair

+Dylan Parker Rumple wants power and likes being the Dark One, so I don't think he would want to. He said so himself that he likes the darkness, and will always choose power over everything. Regina does'not like her darker side and is clearly afraid of it. She will choose doing what's right, however hard it is, over what's easy.

Dark magic isn’t evil it comes down to the wielder and the intentions. Light magic isn’t essentially good. Once upon a time claims love and hate drive light and dark magic respectively but, Love can make you do evil things, just as hate can. I mean look at Snow White. Eventually it all comes down to fear.

Do you know why wasn’t Regina able to use light magic when she did separate from the evil queen, like it can’t be forgotten she was finally able to change and blast light magic in season 3 Regina would have been able to use light magic but they never wet on that at all in any other season💀💀

While I do love and understand the idea is to have Regina begin her “Self Love” journey, i just find this scene a hinderence, to when she Stole Henry’s heart from Pan, the Tree of Regrets, and Regina said she regrets nothing. That in itself told me she does love her twisted self.

So the whole time Regina was the evil queen, was that a different person that formed inside Regina eventually growing to trap the real Regina and take over her body until the real Regina was able to fight back and take control over her body again. No. The creature she just tried to wipe out isn't even the 'real' EQ. Like Jekyl said of Hyde, the serum and its magic/science causes a duplicate to appear base on how the mind conceptualizes that inner darkness. That's why this creature isn't actually even close to as bad, murderous, and nasty as Regina was back in her EQ days, she's still in a bit of denial about that so this creature reflects that.

So I just realised a plot hole here. Later in Season 6, Regina finds out she can hurt her or even kill her by using her own heart. So the question is.......why didn't squashing the evil queens heart here kill or hurt regina? (like physically)

Or it was faked. You can’t kill a doppelgänger without killing the original. Perhaps The Evil Queen anticipated what Regina was going to do and put on an act to make it look like she disappeared for good.

As much as I enjoyed the evil queen being back in season 6. I didn't like the whole split up plot or how they chose to end it. It should've ended here.

Audriona Smith probably because she knew that even as the Queen she felt abandoned and lonely and desperate due to feeling like everyone failed and betrayed her. This is her literally giving up on a part of herself so she's apologizing to her other half for pretty much throwing her away like trash

No that was the last of the potion so dark swan isn't coming back plus there never was a dark swan even when Emma was the dark one she was still trying to do the right thing and the darkness never consumed her unfortunately for Regina it did and that's why she has to live with it everyday

This is probably the dumbest idea they ever had in this show (and they had SO MANY). How could anyone think that releasing the worst part of Regina and give it a material form was a smart move? Weren't Jekyll and Hyde proof enough that this kind of things NEVER go well? Plus, it was selfish and weak for Regina to do something like that: if you have done something wrong in your life, then you have to face the consequences and learn from your mistakes, not just ripping away from you the part of your life that you don't like. This was probably the worts storyline OUAT has ever produced

I agree it was week of her but it showed how even the strong people can be week and can fall into that trap. The end of this arch was amazing and a really good way of showing strength. So I get what you are saying but after this it makes since why they did it.

@@soniarodriguez1462 I agree about the fact that it makes sense for Regina to take that decision (but I never saw her as a strong person, so I wasn't really surprised when she just came after the easy way) but still I cannot understand why on earth nobody would have stopped her. But I tend to forget that nor Snow neither Emma are what you could call smart people😂
