I don't make alot of money but EVO is my vacation every year. This year will be my 6th year. Max actually got me into the FGC with his hypest moments EVO 2015 video. Never looked back and never been happier.

The fact that the Vegas government supported a special day specifically for Evo on TOP of the celebration of the Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup really bolstered that sustained support for the event and it will, hopefully, allow great viewer and participatnt experiences for the years to come. 🙏

When max said "hear crowd reactions", it made me think how over the years the crowd has really become muted on the streams. Imagine Evo moment 37 with a muted crowd... we need to be able to hear the hype

Its kind of insane to see the FGC and Evo just having a renaissance in this day in age. With the evolution of the internet, streaming and gaming, fighting games were only ever recognized at EVO. It's really great to see all of the FGC spreading and growing again with all the OG's included and hopefully a new generation of FGC will come about too.

I'd like to attend at some point. Watching the event grow through the years has been crazy.

If you want advice or ideas for restreaming an event while at the event, a content creator I'd recommend you talk to is CONEY, the smash bros commentator. He has restreamed I believe 3 tournaments while at the events for commentary, so he probably has some insight of how best to balance taking advantage of being at the event while also interacting with the chat.

I think a cool idea would be to have the Doods walk around the event a little, meeting with people, goofing off, and have them kinda be field reporters while you play the anchor role. They're great at that stuff. They were loads of fun at the Project L booth last year. When they get to a cool spot, check in with them, let them do a bit, and then, come back to you where you're doing interviews with devs or pro players or just reacting to matches or whatever.

Super exciting announcement. It will be cool for you to basically have your own secret commentary booth where you can hang out with chat while also maybe bringing on some guests from the event itself

Was at evo 2010-2014 and 2016...i got to admit after seeing what it has become...im happy to see it going back to grass roots abit. Especially having the byoc have monitors with the main tournament

I'm thinking this may be my first EVO. I grew up in Vegas and never thought about it, but it would be fun to be there in person.

This is gonna be a goodun, I'm 23 and I wish I wasn't broke 24/7. Didn't get born lucky, didn't get lucky. Just living within my means, barely able to afford Tekken 8, power and WiFi. So I'll be excitedly watching this at home maybe with a few mates and a pizza.

I feel like companies like capcom should offer some sort of rom licence that allows tournaments to run emulation to alleviate these hardware acquisition woes. It would open up so many niche hard to acquire games to be at tournaments.

EVO was already great, but it sounds amazing now. Is that because of Sony money or did they find some new major sponsors? At least when the games die down, it'd be cool to see Max walk around and check out the show floor, arcade cabs, and vendors and whatnot.

The dedication to getting arcade machines for third strike is very commendable.

Went to EVO last year with friends and really enjoyed myself! My favorite part of the finals was whenever the Chipotle ad showed up, people would scream about it live. xD

I'm really considering going this year, been wanting to go since its the first one. It might have to be the last day though, I don't know if I'll be able to do all 3 days 😅

how about having a booth for your content. like a glass room where people can wave to you and still take pictures with you through glass/plastic windows. that way everyone still gets the chance to see you/wave while having both a chat and an audience. maybe even throw a TV outside the booth that shows your stream on what the viewers see for the people that are there. Helps stay sanitary being separated between the glass and still having everyone get the chance to see you in person? Id love to have a chance where if i just want to relax, i can just head over to your booth and watch your stream Live in person without having to go on my phone in my room or wherever is convenient. I really hope EVO do consider about SEA country to be the next place of EVO. There are so many locals and communities surrounding KOF, Street Fighter, and mostly Tekken and anime games. They also have been around since the 90s to early 2000s so some of the backbones are there already. The one thing that really hinders people here is because of the socio-economy level of the people here that are mostly low, if not the bottom of it all. I really reaaally hope that finally people in SEA do get their time to shine by having a big tournament as level as EVO to spotlight the players here finally. Sincerely, A fighting game fan

Being honest I am glad Max is not walking and streaming/IRL streaming because I would not tune in. Just being honest. If I wanted to experience something like this I would probably go myself. And or watch a vod/youtube video where I can skip around/skim. With that said if he did like an hour long stream from a hotel room/EVO studio room or something I would absolutely tune in! Whatever you choose to do, Max!

One thing I always hated about the EVO tournaments was the fact that competitors sat right next to each other. I prefer having them sit at opposite ends with two screens facing each other. Having them sit next to each other cheapens the event. It's like I'm watching my friends play 😂
