Bonafide JDM legends on episode 8 of Gone But Not Forgotten where we get behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Lancer & Cedia. The Cedia was editor Sirish Chandran’s first rally car and he recalls his early years rallying the Group N Cedia with plenty of old photographs and some grainy footage. The Lancer and Cedia also had the same base platform as the Evo sports cars and we talk about the chassis and handling excellence of these Mitsubishi cars and also analyse what made them so desirable. No other manufacturer had the motorsport roots and heritage of Mitsubishi and that’s what we recall in this special episode, and don’t forget to turn the volume up and listen to the fantastic exhaust on the red Cedia

I own one of the last few Cedia Sports to come out of production lines in 2012. If i remember correctly it was discontinued in November 2012. I have since bought and sold multiple cars but this has been a love affair never to end. I have kept it completely stock to the last bit (unpardonable but true !!). It is still a low mileage car with

We had a Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 SLXd, bought in the year 2000, served us faithfully till the year 2015, when it was sold by us, not because it was worn out, but due to not being able to drive it on a regular basis. After the Lancer, many cars have come including a Volkswagen Jetta, Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Honda City, and recently a Jeep Compass. None of the later cars ever gave the feel of driving a Lancer, it was truly special. The steering, the Ride, the handling and braking dynamics, they were on a truly another level, even the interiors were very well made, the car though light in weight, felt solid, and not flimsy like the recent crop of Japanese cars. Even to this day, I miss my Lancer and cherish its memory.

anyone who's grown up in the 90s would remember how big a deal Lancers used to be. Lancers with crazy doors, bodykits and paint jobs(shoutout to Autopsyche and their magazine advertisements) were dream cars for us who were growing up playing Need For Speed Underground and watching The Fast and the Furious. Kudos to Sirish and the people at Evo India for capturing all of that 90s-2000s joy we felt, when we were kids.

Amazing video Evo India. I am a fan of Mitsubishi too. I bought a Pajero SFX last year, and man does that thing ooze character!! I had driven a Cedia before I purchased the Pajero. I loved the way the Cedia rode and handled but my heart was set on the Pajero. I think you guys should do a Gone but not forgotten episode on the Pajero next. It is safe to say that Mitsubishi sold legendary cars in India.

@@uditkapil5115 The usual service parts like brake pads, filters etc are available but only with specific vendors. For other repair works you will need to wait for sometime to get the right part at the right price. This may vary depending on where you live. The best strategy is to find a reliable mechanic and parts vendor before you buy the vehicle.

I went to the auto expo when Cedia launched in India. I remember how revolutionary it seemed in terms of design. And that was the same time my father bought me NFS Underground and underground 2 so I knew about all JDMs and EVO VIII was/is one of my favourites.

Good to see you Sirish! Indeed, the Lancer is still an old school dream car for every 90's kid. Fear of maintenance cost and sourcing reliable spares for the Mitsubishi is the reason why I couldn't afford it though I have sufficient money to own it just like anybody else.

I own two Mitsubishi vehicles and have never faced a problem for procuring spares. Secondly, these are so reliable that they don't need spares as compared to other brands. Thirdly, I have compared the cost of accidental spares, and found them to be adequately priced vis-a-vis other marquees. Fourthly, spares are still available.

Bro. You forgot to mention. 1. Lancer is the first car in the world that came with automatic gear with drive mode. 2. Lancer is the first car in the world that came with independent suspension speed distribution to each wheel.it's called All wheel drive. ( This variant is not sold in India) 3. After the launch of Lancer in India. It smashed the Honda City sales. Then Honda has changed to new body looks to Honda City 2nd version.
