If you really think about it, compared to other games, subway surfers hasn’t changed a whole lot. The menu is the same, the way you play is the same. The only real differences is the map, music, and quality of the game.

Personally I prefer the 2012-2015 version The character designs were simple but they had a lot of charm and that music It is everything Maybe I'm just old fashioned

2013-16 was the best version. I've too much memories connected with this game. At that time many things were different - Getting trophies from mystery box was tough - Getting a Super mystery box was difficult - You can get keys only in Subway or from mystery box And may more . But today , if you will open 20-25 mystery boxes, you will easily get a trophy. You can daily get a Super mystery box & keys just by watching ads .
