A Cappella Arrangement by David Wesley
Buckle up! I hope you enjoy this nostalgic ride through 28 classic Sunday School songs. Since most of these songs have unknown authors and dates of origin, a chronological medley was pretty much impossible. Instead, I let the medley write itself - evolving gradually using common words and themes into its final form. Thanks so much to my sons, nieces, and nephews for their smiles and their colouring skills!

I'm glad you left the baby talking/crying in there. I heard a phrase in regards to babies in churches one time that stuck with me: "A church without crying, is a church that is dying." We have to pass it on to the next generation. Great compilation as always.

The pastor of my old church used to say the same thing about kids. The church had been in a state of steady decline for decades, and it had been years since there had been any babies crying in that building. Hearing children crying was a turning point in the church's recovery.
@wolfman7284

@@heiditaylor6206 So I don't mislead anyone on accident. There is a difference between a baby being left to cry and cry and distracting from the sermon. But people should not get annoyed at a baby being heard when the mother or father is trying to take care of him/her. If the baby can't be quieted, then they can move to a care area, hallway, etc. But if you don't hear that crying, you have a generation missing in the church.

I knew at least 90% of these songs because of kids church and kids camp. In fact the oil in my lamp song we had a few different versions of that that we would sing. Like we would make up our own lines for it. Like "give me wax on my board keep me surfing for the Lord" or "give me gas in my Ford keep me trucking for the Lord".

What I love most is the encouragement of "child like faith" and enthusiasm in this medley. Singing these songs in youth is something fun and joyful. Now as a 40 year old, when I hear some of these songs especially Jesus Loves Me, I can't help but tear up knowing exactly what they mean. Unconditional love and forgiveness. And not just that, there's a purity and innocence within the songs that just feels good! God bless ❤✝️🕊🙏

Wow. Taking me back to Children’s Church at Pocatello Church of the Nazarene in the early 80’s! Every one of them! Thank you for the memories. Great songs and messages. Only one that was missing was a”Stop and Let Me Tell You”.

this brings sooooo much joy in my heart ,reminding me of the old times when my papa would take me to school on a piggy back & we'd sing these songs all the way ,"He's Got the World" was our favourite song !!😭

Hahaha, this is a nightmare! I taught Sunday school for so many years that these are branded in my brain. I hope you weren't kicking someone under your chair while singing! Congrats on fatherhood, he is adorable.

He's got the whole world in his hands indeed! All of these songs we may have learned as lads and lassies but as adults we should sing some of these songs more often. Well done David. Thank you!😊

Of all your amazing creations, David, this one is a special favorite. So many happy memories of our children's growing-up years, and songs we all sang together and played at home. Having the children hold the signs is a wonderful addition.

My childhood Sunday school flashing before me....brings a smile to my heart and face...such simple tunes and lyrics that made indelible marks on many of our hearts...and no doubt for generations to come. Childhood faith formation at its best.

Thank you so much for this medley. It was especially fun to watch the children as you sang... you've certainly got a lovely set of children there! It's good to know that they are surrounded by meaningful music and hope that they may all one day have these songs in their own hearts. God's blessings be upon you!
