Okay, I'm bored and know about those gas masks they wear, so here we go. The mask itself is the SF10, special forces/ police variant of the S10. The S10 itself has served the British military since the 80's and has only been replaced recently with the GSR. Other countries that use this mask/ variants of it are the Australians and the Pakistanis, who have their own special variants. CS Beta: Too low rez to see what the mask is really like. CS 1.6: The filter has random lines that don't make sense, but besides that, not too bad for a low poly model. HD: Exhale valve (the part with the circle with three spokes) looks weirdly long and the lens aren't reflective IRL. CSS: Worst mask yet, looks more like a Canadian C3 with weird mods, the SAS always use tinted lens outserts because of their use of flashbangs, plus they look intimidating, the port at the side looks like a weird drinking port off of a Dräger mask, and those ridges look silly. Old CS:GO: That cloth hood is real, it's a fire resistant hood made of rayon I think, the SAS did also use them, so this mask is very accurate to the real kit. Also the red paint around the filter would mean it's a tear gas only filter/ a training one, which makes sense if they are using tear gas, but is insane if their enemy is using any real chemical weapon. White CS:GO model: There is no white hood, but there are red laser protective lens for the SF10 that are red, so that is true to life. New CS:GO: Mask looks weirdly wide, straps are too wide, and most importantly, wearing a hood under a gas mask renders the mask useless. It creates a gap in the seal around your face and allows contaminants to escape in while you breathe. So there we go, hope someone liked this look at the gas masks.

I've always loved the SAS in cs. Since 1.6 my model of choice was always "gas mask guys"

those opaque goggles on the gas masks are special forces exclusive anti flash lenses when raiding buildings it lessens the blinding affects of flash bangs massively and are still used on the ct-12 to date. the newest gas masks are actually very realistic with the anti flash goggles so it is a hint of realism not a limitation in the graphics. hope this helped! :)

I like the HD cs:cz model the most, because I grew up playing cs 1.6 with hd pack that was included after cs:cz was released, and because of the smooth grayish googles.

I think I prefer the Condition Zero one. I like the fact that it has a helmet but you can't see through the goggles. Makes it feel more like a badass soldier than a power-plant worker who just happens to pack heat at work.

There is something strange but cool with my cs 1.6, like it's csb1.6 but is has the unit models from cscz, and the hostages as well are from cscz, I also have the sountrack in the menu, and the knife weapon is different, like it has a different slash animation and you hold it different, it's great but it makes me wonder.

I liked the old sas models from csgo. im still searching for the legacy model with the updated gloves. i forgot to extract them from the vpk file prior to their updates

The CT masks had red lenses because the s10 SAS gas mask (the one the in-game mask is based on) has red outset lenses to reduce the effects of flashbangs.
