The Evolution R185 CCSL is a 185mm TCT Multi-Material Cutting Circular Saw which can cut wood, metal or plastic with the same blade. This saw can currently be bought in the UK for roughly £60
This circular saw is a welcome addition to any workshop as it powers its way through most materials with ease. This saw can cut to a depth of 64mm at 90 degrees or 48mm at 45 degrees. The maximum mild steel cutting thickness is 3mm

Evolution sent me this saw to test out, for the money, this is a great piece of kit. This is not compatible with any track, but it is still a great general purpose saw that should last years. I’m still having some problems with the KZfaq comment system, but I’m trying to reply to them when I get a chance. I hope everyone has a great Sunday 😉

I've seen a lot of these Evolution tools being used on the KZfaq channel by Andrew Camarata, who lives and works in New York state. These tools are simply wonderful, and it's nice to see some 'evolution' in power tools like these! ( I couldn't resist the pun there ) Your video here this morning is 'pushing me' to go ahead and order one. Thanks for this, again!

For an extra £15 you can get the identical looking Evolution track saw. It fits on Festool tracks which are 1400mm long as opposed to the 350mm tracks that it comes with. It sits slightly away from the splinter strip on the Festool track which is good because I only use the Evolution for cross cutting old floorboards with nails and don’t want to replace the strip. Recommended 👍

Hi, I have modified all my electrical tools, and they now have a 6-inch lead onto a 3 pin coupler. I also have extension leads of various lengths, the coupler is waterproof and because I don't have long leads on all the tools I was surprised at the ease of storage. My extension leads start at 6 feet (1.83 m) and go up to 30 feet (9.14 m), so I can reach any location I need to. I do have a track saw system, and I was surprised to see how useful it is for cutting up full sheets of plywood. I also bought a small bit of track and have set it up to use as a crosscut system and again I am very happy with it.

The thing that makes most saws work well is the blade, poor blades can make the most expensive saws perform poorly. This blade seems to work pretty well it this test, but it would not make me want to buy the tool... because it's the blade I want!

I’m not keen with that saw as with any saw that I can’t see the blade in operation. I’m right handed as many of us here. I like to operate the circular saw with my right hand and most importantly I like to be able to see the blade. One of the issues I find with these fences that comes with these saws is that they are a joke. They are way too small. In my view a good fence needs to be pretty much the whole length of the base. I have a Ryobi and also the fence is a joke that is way I don’t use the fence at all. I have to admit that this saw at that price is a steal. Nice video as usual.
@ultimatehandyman

Yeah, I know what you mean with the fence, although I rarely use one myself, as I prefer to clamp something to the work piece and use that as a guide. Thanks for the comment

Brushless AC mains motors are very bulky and heavy and produce much heat. Generally require a start and run capacitor or complicated controllers, to run of 230volts, which are very expensive. Perhaps the future will bring these at a more compact size and better price.
