Unless you are doing a lot of reining keeps or have a case by case reason to use a non qualified general as your wall general, the qualified generals will be superior in most instances. Recently though they have made non qualified generals quite powerful. Just look at Forkbeard. Even though he is non qualified, he is still one of the top ground generals in the game

I wouldn't say that the leading generals are useless, it's just not really an advantage to use them. Also the skill book compatibility is on a general by general basis and has no correlation with the clauses. Having a general with the leading clause can also be good for players that don't have a wall general yet, I use Trajan on the wall and he works quite good. I also need to find a way to test the alliance duel and reinforcing to see if attacking generals work there. In cases like Elektra vs Minomoto, Minomotos only advantage is the leading clause so I would say minomoto is not a good general in light of this information.

@@Maath_Faseli Leading general doesn't mean anything. It is the qualifier at the end that does. Attacking generals have "to attack" qualifier at the end which means the buffs are only active when marching or rallying. It is not active reinforcing or on the wall. Trajan on the wall is horrible because his buffs are so low. However, of course a level 25 Trajan is still better than a level 5 qualified wall general. It is easy to level up generals so you should never be in that situation. As for Elektra vs Minamoto, it depends on what you use them for. Elektra is a better attack general (mid game because she needs a dragon). Fully ascended, Minamoto is more versatile. He can be used in all situations (including reinforcing and on the wall). Elektra is not very good reinforcing or on the wall because her original buffs won't be active.
