One trick for the poor guys out there is to do a handful of refines with nothing locked at first and get through some of the crap and then lock the golds after 3-5 refines and go another 5 or so and see if you get lucky. Sometimes you get screwed and lose a gold in the beginning, happened to me today but sometimes you save some gems getting through some white refines

Better to wait on the lock. The more you refine, the more likely to get high level refines, to the point where most rolls have orange and gold. Unless you have a ton of gems, of course. Then go crazy! 😉
